This team seems like more of a JR problem than a MLB problem. Although lord knows MLB has done some dumb s%*# wrt to the "competitive balance" s%*# this 40 win Sox team is on JR and JR alone.

I'd agree but not at 3B. Cubs don't think he's really a 2B and he loses a ton of defensive value as merely an average defensive 3B and his bat barely plays at 2B, let alone 3rd. So now he's closer to 1 than 3 imo.

Oh yea good point. I keep forgetting that guy probably because he's named Steven Wilson. That was a good job by Getz (yuck) getting him in the Cease deal as he'll provide some immediate return this summer.

I think De Bong could have a C+ and A ball lotto ticket type return assuming he's doing his 2 WAR thing come July. But yea, we have very little in turns of high end assets and certainly nothing like the Sale and Q contracts that jumpstarted the now failed rebuilt last time.

Madrigal is like a 1 WAR player so the real problem was probably drafting him. He wasn't the worst pick but India, Kelenic and others were on the board.

Actually committing to being a big market club would have done a lot of wonders for this club. But nah.
