Ah I read a quote from bannister saying he gets too much extension (perhaps) for a starter and that leaves him injury prone. Be interesting to see what they do with him. For now he’s clearly fine coming out of the pen IMO. Let him get some innings and see how his pitch mix looks so you head into offseason with more knowledge and data against MLB hitters.

Agree but big difference is Sale and Crochet got that LHP advantage. Easier to transition to starter when you're neutering the opposition's big left handed boppers a couple times through the lineup.

Like his delivery? A lot of guys are using that pivot towards 1st base now, especially the fireballers. Not sure if it's great for the arm but it does deliver force. As far as his stuff, looks like a closer 100% to me but who knows in today's age if they can get him up to 85 pitches and 4-5 innings that's good enough to move to SP.

eh, it's competitive baseball 4 days out of 5.. we're on pace to win 55 after 41 last year, so losing is still constant. i'm going to pump the breaks for awhile. That said I'm not going to just dimiss improvement because of some vendetta.

If baldwin can play 2B everyday it's a no brainer imo. We'd gain in defense and offense.

we've been playing pretty competent baseball. we got a lot of weak spots still but at least we can turn a lineup over and have some pitching depth. It's always going to be reflected against 41 wins but I dunno for now I'm willing to say ok it's a decent enough start -- long, long way to go.

Not sure if outplayed out to out but evenly matched and came out on top. I didn't think the Stros' lineup was that good and we had the pitching matchup in our favor. I'll be impressed if we can take the series, tonight was obviously a great start.

Some really solid ABs tonight. Robert Jr was the difference maker. Smith did enough. Defense was a bit shaky. Overall a solid win on the night your "ace" (or at least SP1) is going. Baby steps.
