  1. are you fucking kidding me? he's rounding first as the ball ricochets around the bullpen? That's pathetic. Look at it sure, but get out of the fucking box.
  2. Moncada usually puts in a good AB. It's going to be really cool when Eloy, Yoan and Nick are all in their primes. That's going to be three guys the opposing pitcher does not want to see in the lineup card.
  3. seems like moncada is taking some better rips against lefties the last month.
  4. totally, I'm already sick of the three true outcome era and it's only just started. I'd like to see some 300/370/380 types again.
  5. The shine is off Matt Davidson. Remember that walk rate? Yea, I hardly do too. Seems like a long time ago. Look at his plummeting wRC+, and more importantly, his cratering peripherals, since May: https://www.fangraphs.com/splitstool.aspx?playerid=7226&position=3B/DH&splitArr=&strgroup=month&statgroup=2&startDate=all&endDate=all&filter=&statType=player&autoPt=true&players=&pg=0&pageItems=30&sort=-1,1
  6. huh, I knew this applied to draftees, what is the logic behind this rule?
  7. Yea, this guy, who seems like a no doubt ask if the Sox are dealing with them: https://www.mlb.com/news/mariners-to-sign-shortstop-noelvi-marte/c-283479998
  8. the kahnle addition was brilliant. Dude was a supernova. He exploded briefly and then went dark. The over under on his career WAR from this point on is probably 1. Relievers. Are. Fungible. Sox should have zero qualms adding cost controlled relievers into any trade. They only really have Fry with any value but if a club wants him, then yea, not a stumbling block.
  9. The Mariners are in free fall. Dipoto is an a tough spot and has shown in the past he has zero qualms about gutting the farm to get who he wants. They don't have much of a farm left to sell but the Sox could really take advantage here.
  10. I want lewis. Nobody else in their farm even moves the needle. Sox can more than afford to take a chance on Lewis. Sox got OF prospects for days. If he doesn't pan out, meh. He's got an upside though that would make it an ideal acquisition imo. Also just heard on the radio out here that they might be looking at Shields, especially with Paxton and Felix battling injuries and ineffectiveness respectively.
  11. Interesting, I'd think that's a minority position among most scouts. The old adage "you can teach a guy footwork but can't teach a hose" thinking. Scouts will always over rate a guy that can throw it through the wall because it seems they almost always envision easy fixes fundamentally on accuracy. I'm inclined to, at least for arm, lean more towards your position. Arm accuracy isn't something you can easily teach at the high levels. Some guys just don't have it.
  12. The "looks like a ballplayer" tag has been on Rutherford since the beginning. Finally his production is matching the fluff. Don't get me wrong there is something to the "looks like a ballplayer" stuff but it's just fluff if the dude can't actually produce. I just hope he can be a 280/350/480 type in his prime, with solid defense in RF. That would a great outcome from that trade.
  13. minaya is the setup guy, you can only laugh.
  14. I'll say this for a guy that I doubted for not being in shape Carlos is fucking cut. he looks like a boxer.
