Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Good info but physically Newman makes Madrigal look child like. Madrigal needs to continue to work on his body. And no I wouldn't be opposed to a little juice.

GT: Tigers (27-52) @ White Sox (39-42), July 2
I'd actually like to see them use him as an OPENER. I think he's usually good for a couple times through then his lack of a viable 3rd pitch starts to play and he has problems finishing off guys with 2 strikes or even getting to 2 strikes. Use him as an opener for Lopez.

Yolbert Sanchez to Sox??
I like this move. Sounds like Yolmer 2.0 with the ability to play a true SS as a utility guy. Should be in Chicago just as the window is wide open in 2022-24.

small white spark plug type? claro que si.

Hahn: Burger might be out until fall
What's the best cheese for a burger? It's swiss right? That's the status of this guy's body.

The Acceptance Phase of James Shields and Tatis Jr.
Way more to it than that. Properly accessing your standing in the MLB ecosystem would be another area for improvement. Sox were not in a win cycle and should not have been trading away anybody for veterans.

The Acceptance Phase of James Shields and Tatis Jr.
It was a bad process that led to the worst case result. Hopefully Hahn learned from it.

6/30 Games
he sure can whip the bat through the zone with intent. he's going to put a lot of dents into the walls of MLB stadiums.

And that’s a white Sox Twinkie slaying series win
Rather incredible the team is hanging in there with so many injuries and effectively one big league quality starter in their rotation. Moncada turning into a star sure helps.

All Star Jose Abreu
Yikes.

GT: Twins (53-29) @ White Sox (38-42), June 30

get him to bham asap.

Burdi torn patella
Been there. Horrible. Shitty injury. Basically bed bound for a week to a month depending on your pain tolerance. You can't really do much except iso sets and eventually some heel slides and exercise bike around the 60 day mark.

Yonder DFA'd
It's his range on anything not hit right at him that's the problem. His picks are fine. In his prime, Konerko could actually make the play down the line as well. Jose cannot. Collins should be able to react quite a bit quicker, especially getting off the bag when he's holding someone on and diving to his left on shots down the line.
-
Yonder DFA'd
You've been watching Jose Abreu for half a decade. Trust me, Collins will seem like prime Konerko.
-
Yonder DFA'd
He should be stealing AB from Jay and Cordell but we know that won't happen.

Yonder DFA'd
lol no. Madrigal has about 70 PA above A ball.

Anderson leaves game with apparent injury
Ever since I saw that kid go down after slipping in wet turf for MSU in a game last year I've come to expect the worst when I see someone slip pushing off but on replay it does look like the stress on Tim's leg was rotational and not the sort of explosive push off and slip like that kid at MSU had. Let's hope for a recovery closer to 6 weeks then 12 here. Wasn't Eloy given the same prognosis, high ankle sprain?

Anderson leaves game with apparent injury
I'm going to guess 6 weeks from today and then a week in AAA or backfield games. That would be an early august return and about 30 games missed, maybe a bit less with the ASB in the middle of it. Not great but not awful. An achilles is a career altering injury and would have robbed him of next year as well so I'm just incredibly happy it's not that. Obviously a broken ankle would have shut him down the rest of the year as well so that we'll see him again this year is just great.

ChiSox @ BoSox, 6/26, 12:05 CT
problem is the way that 800 OPS is constructed. A 290/350/470 line is a lot more valuable than a 250/290/530 line. Jose average and OBP are cratering. If they continue to drop he's not worth it, even with 35 HR.

The next 200 PA will determine if he has any value to anybody, including the Sox.

dogpile time! He confessed in a personal message to me that he has a macro on his gaming keyboard and he only had to hit F2 for that post to come out. [this may or may not be true]

Took a few more walks from Jose but as a classic low average high slugging corner guy. He was a bit before my time as well I think I only know him through RBI baseball.

I think his new normal is 250/290/500. He's selling out for power. Classic aging slugger profile. That's like a 110 wRC+ and a 1 WAR DH/1B. Sorry Jose, gotta move on in 2020 bud.
