  1. why does it feel like james shields has pitched in every other game this year?
  2. Jose is locked in when he's fouling off breaking balls like that. Unlucky, he ripped the next one JV threw that wasn't as nasty.
  3. Avi is in for a world of pain this year if this is how he's going to "swing" all year. He's back in super slow bat mode where he's jamming himself all the time and producing a ton of weak contact opposite field.
  4. No big deal but it would be cool to have an "embed media" button. Could you guys make a stickied "site suggestions" thread? loving the smoothness of the new site overall.
  5. why the hell would you sign Melky? Delmonico needs every PA and rep he can get this year. Why in the world would you give those PA to a replacement level (at best 1 WAR) 33 year old Melky?
  6. Interesting, he was doing OK with the Dodgers until he hurt his back. Certainly will be rooting for him and I really hope they didn't just bring him in to be a 4th OF. He should be starting over Engel. He's only 15 months older than Engel and has actually had periods of MLB success.
  7. Good move. I don't think Trayce has much upside, but it's more than Tyler's. If anybody can keep him healthy it's the Sox.
  8. Great job guys! Pleasantly surprised to see the main site on back so quickly. Kudos to you. I'm excited to use the new software.
  9. good summary caulfield of the long view.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:13 PM) My point is, for literally every draft, you can say, "oh, this team picked *insert bust here* over *insert player picked slightly after the bust who turned out well here*, how ridiculous!" and his point is the sox draft picks have sucked for a decade now. you're both right.
  11. I found this video of Cano pretty interesting as it looks so similar to Yoan's single up the middle today: https://twitter.com/BallparkVids/status/986802867603468289
  12. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:50 PM) I remember the 1970 team that lost 106 games. Unless things change I can see this 2018 team losing more games than the 1970 team. Some of the things done by this organization the last few years gives me the impression that they not interested in winning anytime soon. This is being done all in the name of rebuilding. I still think we're going to have a new owner here in the next 2 years. At least I hope so. This present situation looks absolutely hopeless and it looks like this can go on for years. Eh, go check out that MiLB gamethreader. Look I'm as guilty as most of b****ing and moaning about the games and the players on the field and anybody watching the games has to feel the same way at times. This team f***ing sucks right now and you've got probably 1/3 of the 25 man roster as dead weight. But it's by design! The minor league system is absolutely stacked and a lot of this dead wood will be off the roster not just in a year or two but probably this summer.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:23 PM) Having seen Adolfo in person several times, He reminds me Gregory Polanco (who I've also seen in person on the same team as Alen Hanson and Willy Garcia) interesting
  14. The back flip was highlight of his career.
  15. Things will be a helluva lot better when Rodon, Kopech and Eloy are around. I can only hope that all three are on the team by the 4th of July.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 08:41 PM) Welcome to rebuilding. Now imagine trying to do with without the jump start from Sale/Eaton/Quintana. Ya know you're right. We could be the f***ing Tigers. Now that is a club in for pain.
  17. As I said in the game thread I'm 34 and this is the worst Sox pitching staff I can remember in my lifetime top to bottom. Of the 13 pitchers on the roster you've maybe got 4-5 that are MLB quality. I feel like I've already watched my fill and I'm a pretty hardcore fan. The last three games have taken a toll. I'll keep watching but man, this is really rough. The lowest point of the rebuild for me as a fan has been the last few games.
  18. I think it's time to put on Lee Elias and forget about the White Sox for a minute.
  19. I work a 9 hour shift most days at my business. Today the game has been on over half those hours #blessed #bestlife
