  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 22, 2014 -> 11:17 AM) interesting reading. well thought out. good job. I saw this about Morales and I was gong to comment on it earlier but here goes. on the rumor page the offseason plan on Cle, the reporter venture on it by saying that he can see Cle going after Morales. the price tag could be a 1 yr at a low salary to reestablish his value. The problem with Morales being part of an "all in" campaign is...what happens if he continues being terrible next year? We spent $40 million on other guys and wound up with a .615 OPS from our DH spot and that costs us a playoff birth.
  2. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 22, 2014 -> 12:08 AM) This one would have. http://www.arizonadailyindependent.com/201...caught-on-tape/ Really? I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have. If this is a guy sneaking in extra "filled out ballots" (this place is still using paper?) then it's not going to change whether or not he has an ID.

  4. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) No I understand that the Dems are scumbag assholes who steal elections and have been for sixty years. Totally ok to tell someone to vote Democratic. Can't say anything ....may be a racist....shhhhh She is probably getting a paid day off work to break the law...maybe even a raise.... Voter fraud does not exist....voter fraud does not exist.....voter fraud does not exist....voter fraud does not exist... And none of those issues would have been solved or impacted by an ID check.
  5. Oh, so all of a sudden you guys care about problems with voting machines. Right.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) I always love the contrast of a story like this against the backdrop of people who feel the US government/miliary brought down the WTC. They might have accidentally dropped a crate of munitions on it that were aimed for overseas.

  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 03:26 PM) And banning someone for scuffing a ball is just silly. (would they eventually work their way up to a ban if they were caught like 9 times?)
  9. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 10:57 AM) Since deleted, but worth noting: Katy Conrad @katywithawhy Not sure when @SenRandPaul became a doctor, but says Ebola can spread from a person who has the disease to someone standing 3 ft away #uhmm If only she had access to a news organization that could help her research when Sen. Paul became a doctor. Well, I can tell when he stopped. (/rimshot).
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 09:00 AM) I can't imagine that it would be cost effective to even attempt to enforce non-competes for anybody making less than $50K or so a year. On the other side though, how many Jimmy Johns employees would have the financial resources to challenge that clause?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 09:22 PM) There's a decent opportunity right now. That said, once I flip that switch I have to flip it. With everything you've said it seems like going for it is an unpleasant but potentially necessary option.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 09:11 PM) Two weeks If you wait until then before sending anything out is it a huge opportunity lost for you? Do you have a resume and application ready to go and a place to apply for sitting there right now or are you talking about needing a week outside work to get the application together?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 09:06 PM) Or apparently if we close one deal, the current investors will float us for good to get started as an official offshoot. If I had three years, I wouldn't think twice and stay. f***, if they could guarantee the team 6 months I'd be in no matter what. When will you know about the closing of that deal?

From what it sounds like, the answer to "am I horrible if I start looking" is buried in the "time might be running short for the company." If that's the case, and you're thinking about something that might happen in the next calendar year, and it would take a miracle for that to be avoided, then absolutely not. Start looking asap. If You're overselling that, and there's still a few years of security for you and 6 other people that will vanish if you leave, then I might be a bit more hesitant on that reply.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) Particle Man disagrees They have a fight, Triangle wins.
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) call me a skeptic, I don't like the idea of having no one behind to back up and / or start. have a options available that can help. the system is not ready to call someone up and start. the sox should not ASSUME any 1 pitcher is ready to step up. come spring that might be a different opinion. Why not? Rodon, Bassitt, and Beck all pencil in as starting 2014 at Charlotte.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) Marshall and Jeffery being hurt a couple of games along with the OL injuries didn't help, but they should be better than they have been. Worrisome part should be that those 2 are back now, their OL is getting back together, and their offense is just as weak, if not worse.
  18. "There should be a bit more of a sense of urgency on the part of the Bears here" - announcers.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) I'd say the defense is about average, which is remarkable considering how much they've been affected by injuries Both the Bears offense and the Bears defense are coming in around #20 in the league in ppg and yards per game. That's about an 8 slot year over year improvement for the defense and an 18 spot year over year decline for the offense.
  20. So has Soldier Field given up and started playing circus music?
  21. I see that highly paid, high powered Bears offense continues doing its job just as well as it did in previous games.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 18, 2014 -> 10:45 PM) I'm sure the royals wouldn't trade Cain for eaton. Probably not since they just made the world series, but when a guy has a career best year at age 28, that is often a decent sign they won't repeat that same season.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 18, 2014 -> 10:48 PM) Are we serious about contending? If no....we trade him like the cubs unless we have an option for 2016 and noesi falls apart Rodon falters or another starter is shelved due to injury. If Gavin Floyd is going to be ready to pitch in April of 2015 and he's comfortable with this coaching staff, then he could be a useful guy to fill the "pre rodon" slot in the rotation and we wouldn't have to count on him being healthy or dominant for the entire season to be useful. Only historic problem? He's been awful in April/May and incredible in June, and we'd want a guy who's been incredible in the spring and terrible in the summer if we're given the choice because Rodon would be ready to replace the guy in the summer if anything happens.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 18, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) Indiana shockingly leading MSU pretty late in the 2nd quarter. MSU's run defense has been abysmal. Well we put up a better fight than I expected. I feel like Indiana is starting to get a little closer to a solid run under this coach, but things like "Starting QB out for the season" are hard to overcome.
