QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 09:23 AM) When they announced it i though it would look stupid in live action but after seeing a couple trailers I'm actually pretty warm on it,can't wait now, also XMEN:DOFP looks legit too, been waiting on that for a couple years. This one actually worries me more, maybe due to the level of trust each franchise has built up. Marvel just is nailing everything, while DOFP, even though it has Singer involved, is a franchise that has only put out a solid movie on 1 of its last 4 attempts. On top of that, they're using Wolverine to drive the plot and he's been the worst-used of them all. That said, I was blown away by how much I liked X0, so maybe there's still some promise here. I just feel like I'm expecting to laugh at GOTG and find it lighthearted, crazy, and enjoyable even if not the best of the series, and DOFP is set up for me to be disappointed.

QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 09:27 AM) For all the talk of Major League Baseball in Portland or Montreal, it doesn't seem like there is much incentive right now for expansion or relocation. Portland seems like a quality place for baseball but all of the leagues are in the "anti-expansion" mode right now after big expansions in the 90's, and the franchises that seem like the most obviously in need of relocation are locked into stadium agreements in Florida.

I took a walk to the ballpark while @ a convention in downtown denver and found the area delightful. It didn't seem possible to go wrong. However, if you walk down the street along the front of the ballpark, on the opposite side of the street, there's a bar with a sign in the window obviously labeling it as the "chicago bears" bar in the city. Had I not been 2 hours from catching a plane I'd have rocked that place. There's a wonderful pedestrian mall about 5-6 blocks away with a free bus that runs up and down it the entire night. If you can walk that 5-6 blocks, you can get anywhere in downtown denver. Didn't have the chance to try as many restaurants as I wanted due to conference activities, but man there were tons of options along that strip. There was a place called "Vesta grill" like 3 blocks from Coors that I'd have tried had I been closer. Probably on the pricey side.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 08:59 AM) Oh see, the Guardians trailer turned me off to the movie. Just didnt feel right. I dunno. IMO, it seems like it is built to do exactly that. It's the "we've made enough money so were going to do whatever the **** we want and then still make it a key part of our universe's plot line" move. There's a raccoon with a gun and Vin Diesel plays a tree.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 06:11 PM) Weren't pretty much all of the Sox pitchers down on velocity in KC? Danks sat at 86-89. Johnson around 90. Sale today was hovering at 92-93 after sitting in the mid/upper 90s last start. I wonder if the park gun in KC is down a tick. Sale demolished Butler on a 96 mph fastball at the top of the zone.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 05:24 PM) I just don't feel like it's worth it to lose my s*** in the first week about it. Just worth pondering whether he's ever actually had a coach tell him the right way to handle that play, and then follow it up with practice and video of what the mistake was.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:57 PM) Why in God's name didn't we use either Webb or Belisario in this inning?? Jesus. Because Lindstrom ought to be able to finish a game with a 5 run lead?
-
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) If Lindstrom concedes another run and then finishes it, does he get a save? no

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) Abreu really looking rough at 1B. Geez. Dr. Strangeglove. Dude...you're back in the April 5th minor league game thread talking about the April 6th big league game.
-
That's why you play him over there this season, so he makes those mistakes now instead of next year.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) Like we've all said before this year, some days this team will frustrate the hell out of you, other days we'll see all the promise that there could be. And then every 5th game Chris Sale will start and we can just marvel at that.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:39 PM) http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?g...ox&sid=milb Again, today is April 6th. This thread is named "4/5 games".

Puig headed for an MRI on injured thumb, scratched from lineup today.
-
Pirates top pitching prospect Jameson Taillon headed for the Tommy John Surgery.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) No kidding, it looked like a first baseman throwing grounders to the infield between innings. Sudden Chad Bradford flash.
-
Has anyone ever seen a catcher drop down sidearm?
-
That was the single craziest throw I've ever seen by a catcher. Ever.
-
Well, clearly Gillaspie did a good job practicing bunting this spring and earned his manager's faith in his bunting abilities.
-
Viciedo's 2nd walk in his first 10 PA's this season.
-
And apparently, despite Sale starting this inning at 100 pitches, the bullpen has had no activity whatsoever. Sigh.

what a play by cain

Just a bit outside.

QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 03:22 PM) Beckham out again I can't tell if this is expected or unexpected since the Barons were rained out.
-
That bat went a ways.

All up to the offensive force that is Tyler Flowers.
