I have zero interest in Luis Robert being on the field right now, not until this injury is 100% healed. Since he reaggravated that injury he has been physically unable to contribute offensively, and I would believe there is some nonzero risk of making his injury worse given that he already re-injured it once. Engel has not been good offensively either, but he has still been better than Robert over that stretch, and when he swings he has no chance of injuring Robert's wrist.

Wasn't there a pitcher that y'all in this forum thought they were saving for the AFL who isn't on this list?
-
At least they put him on the IL for that rather than this ludicrous "active but unable to play most days and clearly not able to perform on the days where he does play".
-
While this is true, he also did come back healthy enough to have 4 strong games before reaggravating the injury, and he hasn't been the same since the 2nd time it happened. Whatever the injury is, it sure seems like an extra few days of rest rather than rushing him back could have potentially had far more positive impacts than those couple of solid performances did, if it eliminated the swing where he re-injured things.

Aw come on, that's clearly only going to happen when they're in first place wire to wire and have fully set their postseason rotation.

The best thing for the White Sox would be the Guardians losing as many as possible. The White Sox have 6 left against the Twins and 3 left against the Guardians. The White Sox can knock the Twins out on their own. They can’t overcome a 4 loss deficit against the Guardians without help.

That's a White Sox "Keep The Dream Alive" Winner !

But they did drop the chances of the White Sox winning both. Up to Giolito to see if that matters. -

They’ve scored 5+ runs 8 times in the last month. They were games against the Royals, Angels, and Rangers. Theyre 7-1 in those games. They are 3-2 when scoring 4 runs. They are winless over the last month scoring 3 or fewer. -

What could really make this strategy work is Giolito. The Guardians pitched their what, #8 starter today? The White Sox probably win Thursday if Giolito pitched. They probably win Friday if Lynn pitches. If Giolito loses to Detroit on Friday then Cleveland will have dropped a loss on the White Sox solely by intimidation, while resting their bullpen. -
You ever seen the movie Major League, where coach Lou has Willie Mays Hays doing 40 pushups every time he hits a ball in the air?
-
As much as I want to believe every word you’re saying because it makes sense and seems impossible that bad managing could really sabotage a team to this extent…(points at the Chicago White Sox).

Oh dear lord.

No, but one win over the White Sox is really quite big for them because of that tiebreaker. You get that tiebreaker and then win a couple games against the Twins and you can genuinely start resting people and setting your rotation. They are 4 up in the loss column after today - counting the tiebreaker, had they put their best pitchers out today and really gone for it they could have had effectively a 7 game lead in the loss column. I don't get this unless somehow they thought this guy would be better?

"I don't care whose ball that is it's a popup 5 feet down the first base line. The Catcher, the first baseman, the pitcher, the third baseman, the Center Fielder, someone's got to get that". "It's been happening too often here in crunch time, those are just playst hat need to be made" That's a frustrated DJ.

Luis had 4 games that were quite good when he first came back, then reaggravated the wrist injury on a swing late in that 4th game. They rushed him back before it was fully healed, got a few good games out of him, then extended the injury for >3 more weeks in order to get those 4 games. But we haven't had to put him on the IL. That's super positive.
