  1. Unfortunately, it's really tough to demand better than 4-2 against any set of teams. That's not something you can really be mad about, you have to be mad about the hole you're in.
  2. IIRC it was Torotno. Doug Eddings. The Jays manager came out the next day and got himself kicked just to emphasize how bad the previous day was. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox/white-sox-winning-end-one-mlbs-worst-called-games-2022
  3. Dude the White Sox literally were in the game with the worst rated umpire of the year. Hell, Cease started it.
  4. The White Sox have been a tough opponent for the last 10 days or so as well. The problem is that the White Sox genuinely dug themselves a major hole, and it's baseball - its very difficult to win every day when the pressure is on even over short stretches because the game always manages to exploit your weak spots.
  5. Cleveland takes a 5-3 lead on a Jose Ramirez home run in the 8th.
  6. 89 pitches through 4 for Cease. Last 2 innings have been about 21 pitches each, so he's on pace to need 110 to get through 5. I would like to humbly suggest that someone should be warming in the bullpen right now.
  7. Angels got Kwan again with the lead run on 3rd, game stays tied going to the 8th.
  8. Possible lead run is on 3rd with 1 out for Cleveland in the 7th. Straw then Kwan up.
  9. Not a significant change. In fact, both pull and opposite field are slightly down while up the middle has increased, but not enough to say that it's actually any sort of trend other than he's hitting the ball harder.
  10. That's with a tiny .460 BABIP though dude. (exit velocity is noticeably up, as is walk rate, since leaving Chicago, but that high of a number is just a lucky streak).
  11. Angels get a key double play from Naylor to end the 6th and end the threat.
  12. Cleveland threatening in the 6th, tying runner on 3rd with 1 out. Pitching change for the Angels.
  13. ok 56 pitches through 2. I still think he finds a groove soon and gets through 5.
  14. 3 strikeouts in his first 4 outs though. Seems like this is shaping up to be one of those 5 inning outings where he gives up very little contact.
  15. Both LAA and ClevelandG got 1 run in the 5th inning, that game is now 3-2 LAA.
  16. At this point, it has been 3 weeks since that game against Baltimore where he couldn't hold onto the bat. He is 0 for his last 15 since that game. The initial injury seems to have happened on August 12, they gave him 8 days off before playing him 5 games in 6 days, with him aggravating it in that last game. So, they've gotten 4 good games out of him in 33 days, with no IL stint.
  17. I don't buy that. We've seen way too much of Menechino's history with the Marlins for me to believe that it's a coincidence the White Sox are the exact same thing as the marlins were. I'm totally ok with the concept that Menechino and LaRussa are totally on the same page when it comes to hitting the ball on the ground the other way.
