  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 25, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) Not sure if you can actually tamper with coaches though. Not without the express permission of the team which has him under contract.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) This debt crisis should have us looking in the mirror. Link
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2010 -> 12:46 PM) Somehow I think NK has more to lose than SK in all of this... Don't you have to start out with something before you can lose it?
  4. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 25, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) That's interesting, because I mean there's always going to be different opinions about who was better etc. To me Season 1 just had great actors for the characters etc. (Hopper as Drazen for instance), and I'll never forget Elisha Cuthbert early on wearing that red top. I thought Season 2 became too confusing in the end (from what I can remember of it) with the different enemies etc. Killing Palmer's wife also, ended taking away one of the best characters on the show also. I thought Season 3 had a LOT of potential early on, but when the 1st 12 hours or so basically counted for nothing, that ruined a lot of momentum it had going for it. Season 4 and Season 5 were pretty meh I guess. Palmer's wife died in season 3. Are you sure you're not crossing seasons up? Season 2 was the first nuclear bomb plot combined with the cabinet-directed Coup against Palmer. Dennis Hopper...I really wasn't impressed with his eastern-European persona. Season 4 was decent but blah. Season 5 was a ride, between Palmer being shot and the whole deal with Logan, but I think season 5 really hurt them in that they killed off so many of their good actors/actresses/characters in that first episode that they spent the next couple years trying to find pieces that they could assemble to make a working cast.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 25, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) IIRC Cleveland wasnt even showing up much in 2007 when they did have a good team. They averaged almost 2x as many fans in 2007 as they've averaged this year. But their attendance in 2007 was only 21st in the league. This year they're dead last.
  6. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 25, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) 24 has never been as good as it was in the 1st season obviously I still thought season 2 topped the seasons around it.
  7. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 25, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) I don't think he deserves to be taking a pay-cut. If the Lakers think Shaw is their long-term answer at coach, and they think they might risk losing him if they waited another season (see: Kurt Rambis), and they think they might save themselves a substantial chunk of cash if they let Jackson walk, then I think it sorta does make sense for them.
  8. Considering the military supposedly has completed these studies repeatedly, this sounds like an almost complete end to the policy, with a few legalistic kowtows to make it more palatable for a couple people to vote for it.
  9. Just to stress again...this is exactly how the drilling companies want the system to work. Especially when the taxpayer has agreed to take on the price of any accidents, like they did after Exxon.
  10. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 25, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) That said, there's no way I can see him leaving the Lakers unless he gets more money (and I mean quite a bit more) from either Cleveland or Chicago. The Lakers have all but said that he will have to take a pay cut to come back.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 25, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) So the Bulls reaching out to Phil Jackson isnt considered tampering? I'm sure this is one of those cases where there's been enough done to just barely skirt by the tampering rules. Probably...no official offer on the table, no one actually officially affiliated with the team has said anything about him or two him or anyone personally employed by him. But if some reporter that Paxson knows happens to also be friends with a good friend of Jackson and they wanted to both set something up and leak the story, that's probably just dancy enough to get around the rules.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 25, 2010 -> 09:26 AM) Jake F***ing Peavy Just F***ing Pitch Correct to both.
  13. Soxnet.net game summary
  14. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 25, 2010 -> 07:28 AM) Apparently the unions can't find money to fund their pensions and want the taxpayers to help them out. Maybe if they stopped donating to political candidates they could actually fund thier own obligations? Screw you, Bob Casey. http://www.foxbusiness.com/personal-financ...ension-bailout/ Really, you're bashing unions because businesses and states aren't meeting their pension payment obligations?
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 25, 2010 -> 07:38 AM) Yeah, just about everything I've seen has shown that real wages for a majority of Americans have remained stagnant for over a decade now. Which is why Republicans quote the average.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ May 24, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) "get better rankings" Fixed.
  17. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 24, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) When the f*** did they let Chloe have a gun? I haven't watched in a couple seasons. Cole Gave it to her before she walked across the street.
  18. QUOTE (The Gooch @ May 24, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) The last half of this season of 24 might be some of the best television I have ever seen. I was admittedly getting bored of the show again in the first half of the season, but the show really took off again. I won't ruin the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I was happy with it.
  19. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 24, 2010 -> 06:45 PM) You say it like he was with the Sox for 5+ years and never produced. He had one down season. It happens. The Sox would be a much better offense with Nick Swisher a part of it right now. Only because Carlos Quentin has been so ungodly bad.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ May 24, 2010 -> 06:37 PM) I wish the Sox had more guys who "only" hit 20-30 HRs and had just under 100 RBI. I wish Nick Swisher would have had those RBI numbers when he was in Chicago.
