  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) Is it a homer if it hits the yellow line? Not at the Cell, that's just there so that the umps can see the contrast better I believe.
  2. Alexei ties it up with a double brought back by Byrnes.
  3. Brandon Roy played today. 9 days after knee scope.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) AJ below .160. Unfortunately, we missed the "please sell high before the expiration date" notice on the package. See Crede, Joe. Dude, no one was trading for AJ Pierzynski last offseason. There's never been a better example of a guy worth a ton more to your team than you could get in a trade.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) Unless the rumors are true and Andruw is really 7 years older than his official birthdate. No way he's a 39 year old.
  6. 1 run on 1 hit in 5 innings for Garcia. 0 walks.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:01 PM) He's going all Geo Soto on us. You're saying he's off of something?
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) Prediction for bottom of the 4th: ground out to 3rd, fly ball to right field, walk, ground out to 3rd You got Jones right.
  9. QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) What I'd be willing to give Danks would depend on a lot of other factors (how he pitches this year, how Floyd pitches this year, how Peavy pitches this year, if Mark really wants to retire after 2011, if the Sox play halfway decent ball later this year, etc.). I'd wait until this winter and came up with a long-term plan before putting together an offer for him. If he'd sign an extension tomorrow, I'd sign him to it.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) Prediction for bottom of the 4th: ground out to 3rd, fly ball to right field, walk, ground out to 3rd Ground ball to Figgins, infield hit. Ha.
  11. By the way, Sarah Palin was in the same city as me yesterday. In her press statement, she told us in graphic detail how horrible it was to have her personal email exposed publicly by a hacker and dissected by anyone out there.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) I maybe alone, but I don't get the Bears drafting a QB there when you have other needs. They're certainly not deep at QB, Hanie's their backup, and if they can ever develop him to the point where he had a few decent games, suddenly they're holding a guy they can deal for a first. Mel Kiper said he would have been the #4 QB in the draft in terms of talent, but he needs a lot of fundamentals/technique work. In the 6th round, when you're 2 deep at QB, there's nothing wrong with that.
  13. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) Quick Poll: Anyone think Ozzie is just about the most stubborn manager in MLB? It sures seems like he lets his pride get the best of him when making bad decisions. Tony LaRussa. And I'm not sure its even close.
  14. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) Is that guy related to the same Tuiasosopo family that had a ton of guys in the NFL? Yes.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) but this has got to be AJ's last year with the Sox. Because if there's one thing we've never, ever, ever seen from AJ Pierzynski before, it's a hitting slump.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) The only chance to get something for Jenks is if someone is desperate at the trade deadline. Jenks could easily find a groove as well.
  17. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) This is my first game I've been able to see in a week. Has Q looked that bad this whole year? That was pathetic... Yes.
  18. BTW, 0-0 through 2 innings, Garcia with 3 strikeouts so far, neither team with a baserunner.
  19. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 12:40 PM) It's safer then a plane? Again, yea, but not really. This isn't like you flying around. It's the President and VP of the US. If he had the train all to himself, yeah, I'd bet it was safer than a plane.
  20. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Boras didn't even want him signing with us this season. Jones called KW on his own and said he wanted to play for the Sox and would do so for $1M. Boras was pissed he went behind his back. If that actually happened...I believe it's technically against the union rules.
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) That's becaus Ozzie and Kenny (maybe just Oz) don't believe in OBP but speed and grinders instead. No, it's because the guys that should be putting up decent OBP...Beckham, Pierre, Quentin...have been garbage.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 07:01 AM) You wouldn't say that if we had a shot at him. Talent >>> personality Personality can change too. Jenks, Pierzynski...put them in the wrong situation, versus the right situation.
  23. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) I like Wooten as a player... but no s*** the Bears would draft a defensive lineman. What a surprise. Angelo just can't help himself. Even after signing Peppers, they let Brown and O-Gun go and had Adams die. That's 3 linemen out, 1 in, 2 if you count moving Adams.
