  1. "Neck Spasms". Status currently day to day.
  2. Developing world stands up to G8, requests significantly more restrictive CO2 regulation than any country in the G8 has been willing to consider (most notably the U.S., which is still behind the rest of the G8).
  3. I don't post this to bash Palin but merely for fascination. Given the scandalous circumstances surrounding the departure of the other 2 governors, it appears that Sarah Palin is the first governor in at least 109+ years to resign office for seemingly no obvious reason.
  4. "Chicago Cubs First Baseman Derrek Lee left the game due to an injured neck/shoulder" - according to Gameday.
  5. Why did the Cubs pull Derrek Lee in the 6th?
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 12:52 PM) Supposedly, the Boozer deal is dead because they Bulls don't want to get rid of Hinrich. We've heard like 9 different reasons why that deal didn't go down. Frankly, there were ways that the deal was written that would have been bad ones for the Bulls (The Bulls giving up their 1st round pick next year in addition to the players, for example). It could easily be that they didn't want to get rid of Hinrich and at the same time not get another guard back. It could also still go down, depending on how the Jazz react to Portland's Milsap offer sheet.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 01:50 PM) I dunno, somehow whenever I watch a clip like that, I don't come out of it thinking that either guy winds up looking all that good.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) This supposed great move resulted in consecutive losses so I'm not sure how great it was. We'll find out the next 2 days.
  9. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 08:47 AM) How do people like this make it into office? http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/200...ation_ring.html We've been saying that about President Cheney for years.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) No surprise, Lilly's pitching at Wrigley again with the wind howling in. Ted Lilly is the Cubs's only all-star? Who saw that coming?
  11. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:44 PM) Who would've thought a no-hitter would come by a SF Giant not named Lincecum. Lincecum took one in to the 7th a couple days ago and Tony Gwynn Jr. broke it up.
  12. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) At least he doesn't have an invisible leprechaun in his head like Freel. What's the leprechaun's name again? Farney.
  13. Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) Every freaking game is deja vu at this place. Tomorrow or Sunday, we'll have a game where we hit 5 deep fly balls to left field that get caught on the warning track. Don't forget there will be a very high choppers hit by the Twins in a big situation, and Kubel will crush a home run in a big spot. And Carlos Gomez will hit .600 for the series.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) Guerrier and Nathan...awesome. Gordon Beckham has never faced Nathan before. Maybe there's some hope?
  16. Well, which do you pitch to, Mauer or Morneau? Walk em both and load the bases?
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) I would have traded BA for Francouer and taken a flier. At least Jeff has put up some semblance over major league numbers in his career. That said Jeff is probably a lost cause. Yeah, don't see why the Braves would do that one though.
  18. The report also says that Bush personally ordered Gonzalez to Ashcroft's bedside to try to get the drugged up out of surgery Attorney General to sign off on his program.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) He's not even hitting for power anymore. His SLG is about as good as Paul Konerko's OBP. You have to figure the Mets are hoping they can fix him. There's always been serious talent there, the Braves just haven't figured out how to get in his head.
