  1. So they shouldn’t have traded the cost controlled starter for the guy under control for 1 year and spent 1/3 of the money they had available in the process when depth was their biggest need and they gave that away? I agree, that was pretty darn stupid.
  2. I would like this far more than that Rodon deal.
  3. If they are trading away those cost controlled players and taking on salary, then they should at least have enough money to fill out the other key spots on their roster.
  4. So who are they bringing in for those 95-110 innings?
  5. Pepper spray and riot gear is only for the blacks. (Reopened about an hour later after extra cops arrived).
  6. So I don’t know how to make the cap hits work for Watson or Stafford when they have an expensive defense and no easy way to drop Foles, but Garoppolo has a very small hit if traded so San Fran could easily swap him out and the Bears could rework that contract without much difficulty.
  7. I mean you realize this is literally going to happen right?
  8. So does anyone remember how we were finally done with Gordon Beckham, we were all so disappointed he couldn’t get there, we finally seemed to be moving on, then we resigned him as a backup and he was starting at 3b by May because everyone else was bad?
  9. Dude, the “best shape of his life!” articles aren’t supposed to come until late February.
  10. No need to DFA a guy when he's on the 60 day IL. Doesn't even take up a 40 man roster spot in that case.
  11. We both picked out mediocre white sox pitchers...named Dylan. I'm rather impressed by this.
  12. I never said he didn't have a few dominant outings. I'm pretty sure Dylan Axelrod had a couple. Rodon would have a few good starts in a row where the opposing team was putting balls in play and getting outs, and then would correct upwards with an awful game stretch, like most mediocre pitchers.
  13. He wasn't dominant in the big leagues even when healthy.
  14. This is one of my least favorite threads ever. I have no urge to see him in a White Sox uniform again.
  15. He was available right now for what, $160 million over 6 years? With basically no prospect cost coming back? His market here might well have been greater than just as a free agent because hypothetically someone could have offered more prospect talent in exchange for covering his contract.
  16. So they substantially downgraded at shortstop but their OF has been so weak for years that decent players are a major upgrade. Are we really sure they’re taking a big drop?
  17. Or they would have signed Hand instead of Hendricks and had $2 million more.
  18. “Big eyeballs” is supposed to be one of the Twitter insiders ways of saying “omg this contract I see is amazing your mind will be blown”. Started with Machado supposedly signing that day 98% of the time one of them uses it, everyone gets riled up, and nothing happens.
  19. Yup. They have needs but somehow they accidentally blew all their money and no one could possibly have seen that coming, but hopefully money is available in July.
  20. I don’t know why my business is out of money.
  21. He destroyed one of his legs.
