Well that assumes Cleveland outvotes Chicago too.
-
It may not look like this in June, but right now Carlos Santana has more hits, more walks, fewer strikeouts, higher batting average, higher OBP, higher OPS, and a higher wRC+.
-
That's...a completely normal success rate for the free agent market.

Latest deck shuffling: Jones to 60 day IL; Burr reinstated; Tilson Up
Balta1701 replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Rodon next offseason is going to be in a similar place to Garcia last offseason - the only reason to keep him around is sentiment, it's not a good baseball or financial move. They let Garcia go and it was the right baseball/financial move, I seriously doubt they'll hold onto Rodon. One benefit of a GM with lifetime job security is that he can pull the plug on players even though he acquired them without anyone asking how we got there. -

He was under contract this season right, so no reason for Jones not to give it a try this year? -
Didn't someone suggest yesterday that they still had a little hope for Rodon that he wouldn't have to go down with the surgery?
-
He was 1 for his first 32. He then put up a .917 OPS the rest of that season.
-
They literally just moved him to the 60 day DL yesterday
-
Cease being called up for Engel would be really odd since Cease pitched today, he'd have to sit there on the roster for 4 days before his first use.
-
Actually, that does kinda make some sense. Could he be picked up for the minimum at this point or do we have to wait 10 days for him to clear waivers first?
-
Honestly I did not know that Cease was already on the 40 man. Given that, Cease should be coming up right now. There is no contractual benefit to holding him down unless you wait another 3 months.

Does Don Cooper have lifetime job security as pitching coach?
Balta1701 replied to maxjusttyped's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It is currently impressive in its agreement. -
I can't imagine they will 60 day IL him today, not until they're 100% certain he's headed for TJS. Maybe it's 95% at this point but they said they are waiting for the swelling to go down, if they're waiting for that then they can't 60 day him first.
-
Without looking at the 10 day limit, the guys who can be called up without having to add someone to the 40 man roster are: Frare Cease Hamilton Medeiros Stephens Viera Zavala Adolfo Basabe Jay Palka What the F*** happened to John Jay anyway? How his he not on the 60 day IL? He's missed 40 days.

Rick Hahn always has the final say on your 1st round draft pick and in rushing those players up to the big leagues, and yes, his performance, 30th/30 teams in wins but the absolute best in telling Chairman Reinsdorf that he's doing a great job, firing that guy is impossible.

When they finished the trades in 2017, me. I was saying 2019 maybe everything is arriving and they're dangerous at the end of the season, and 2019-2020 are the White Sox version of the 2015-2016 Chicago Cubs. Their talent was in their organization by 2014, they had a top level 2014 system, and 2 years later they had a title. Our talent was fully in this organization by 2017. 2019 is the comparable year to their 2015, when they were in the NLCS. Had we handled our talent as well as they did, that remains the appropriate comparison. How much worse are we willing to be? Why are we so much behind their pace? Why is that ok?

Well this should work for our run differential

A few injuries, even a year where you're really banged up, fine. After last year, we've now had Eloy, Rodon, and Dunning go down in less than a month of the regular season this year. If you go to the Futuresox top 20 from 2017, when the White Sox had the #1 system in baseball, 7 of them are either currently hurt or are rehabbing injuries from last year, a couple are completely out of our franchise or have busted, a few are struggling, out of that top 20 the only guys that we are genuinely happy with right now are Robert, Moncada, and Cease.

Then either they shouldn't be promoting him until he's moved back to starting or they shouldn't be planning to move him to starting at all. If he's a permanent reliever, say so. If he's going to be moving back to starting, now that you moved him up, it's time.
