  1. I'd be seriously tempted, assuming surgery. With normal raises they'll pay him $14 million the next 2 years, give or take a million or so. They are very unlikely to recoup that money. Almost all of 2020 will be lost on rehab, and 2021 you'll have a guy coming back from multiple arm injuries who would need to be a middle of the rotation pitcher to be worth it, and the guy hasn't even been a back of the rotation quality pitcher since 2016. That's 4 years since he was worth anything. No one would pay $14 million for Rodon as a free agent after 2020. People want money for Keuchel? There's the money for a season of him.
  2. Still though, if he's out til mid-2020 at the earliest, then the White Sox have him for 1 year before he hits free agency.
  3. he literally said so. I'm surprised this quote hasn't been posted yet. https://www.mlb.com/news/carlos-rodon-placed-on-injured-list
  4. I didn't want to point this out until his numbers partially stabilized, but now his overall numbers look good but against the fastball 2019 Abreu is right on the path of 2018 Abreu. Here's, per 100 pitches, runs created against 4 seam fastballs. Season wFB/C 2014 2.55 2015 1.42 2016 1.04 2017 0.95 2018 0.47 2019 0.28
  5. I don't believe that at all...but I do think it would be worth the price of admission to have Cap walk into Vormir and find Red Skull floating there.

  7. 15th inning double by Tyler Chatwood.
  8. It's going to be a while before anything breaks this.
  9. I could imagine that 5 years from now it coming out that the refs had money on this game and whispered casually to the Warriors in advance that there was a key foul the refs would not call, that the refs would not be calling fouls on the Warriors if they made body contact with a 3 point shooter while the ball was in the air. Not only were the refs not calling that, but the Warriors knew it somehow and were doing it right from the start of the first quarter.
  10. This game 1 ref work Rockets/Warriors has been despicably bad. There shouda been like 5 fouls called on the Warriors while Houston was taking 3s, the announcers have caught it over and over and over.
  11. If there's an injury update given during the game can you or someone please post it here?
  12. I just made an "Eloy Injury" thread - if they give an update during the game, can someone post the update in that thread? That way people can find the update if they check in overnight or in the morning. Thanks.
  13. Eloy was pulled from his first game back on April 26 after a collision with the wall. Whenever anyone has more info on the injury, short term or long term, please add it.
  14. I still feel like I've got you beat, was calling for Hahn's replacement after 1 season of the RH experience.
  15. We have 2 Cease threads and he immediately gives up 6 runs and then Rodon drops 5+ in the 3rd inning to detroit after this post. I think these threads are bad for us.
  16. That's, not great contact. Still going the other way, not that hard of a hit, and turned into an out probably because they were playing him to go the other way.
  17. That's....still cheap. Literally that's a dictionary quality definition of cheap.
  18. Well, it was good while it lasted. Back to the pre-2017 blueprint for success!
  19. I would say don't count any of them out - in fact I would say that, barring injury or trade, they should all have a clear rotation slot in 2020. What I would say is - what are the odds that all of them work out well enough for that to even be a solid rotation? Rodon becomes Corbin, Gio and Lopez turn corners, the rookies don't struggle, no one gets majorly injured? We saw people playing exactly this game over the offseason when they were projecting ways for the White Sox to be competitive this year - it's nice and happy to assume that everything is going to go right. It's not likely that everything will go wrong either, the most likely end result is somewhere in the middle...and then you have to ask "is that good enough to achieve the goal you just set"? If a couple of these guys are good (yay) but one gets hurt and 2 more continue to have various struggles, is that a competitive rotation?
