I would agree with that most of the time, but in the case of Jimenez, mostly everyone on here was against him long before we got rid of him. So it's not like 1 person "predicted" this -- it was a long time coming, and most of us were calling for it.

Bottom line -- if Koch starts throwing 97-100 MPH all of a sudden, our bullpen goes from being somewhat of a question mark to very solid, and could quite easily make the difference in the remainder of the season and post-season (if we happen to make it that far). Instead of using ?, Marte, Gordon, we go to Gordon, Marte, Koch (IMO, Koch would be our closer again if he regains his velocity). And instead of needing 7 IP from our starters to feel comfortable, we could get by with 6 (or even 5 if Schoenweis and Wunsch pitch well). Could make all the difference in the world.

Another thing I don't like -- why bring up Jimenez a month after we get rid of him? Why trash the guy now? We've pretty much all said our "good riddance" and " :fyou 's", so what purpose does it serve to continue to bash him? Seems that we could come up with much more constructive topics of discussion. Got all of your grievences out? People bring up Ex-Sox players on here all of the time. It isn't unusual at all. Nah, those aren't all of my grievances (that would take a while, and I've got sleep to tend to), but that's the one bothering me most at the moment. And it's not the bringing up of former players that bothers me -- it's the bringing them up for the sole purpose of bashing them that bothers me. Seems pointless.

Considering he's at .275 now, that's not exactly a stretch. He may be below .260 by the end of the season, but I don't really care one way or the other. But you've got to admit that there are some people on this board that NO MATTER WHAT a player does once he's in the "doghouse", there's NO way he'll ever get out of it. That, IMO, is ridiculous, and I see it quite often on here.

The biggest part of the series was us staying in the game and winning it in the 11th yesterday. After blowing a 5-3 lead in the last 2 innings, we could have easily rolled over and settled for 2 out of 3 in the series, but we battled and went on to win 8-6 and get the much needed sweep. Like Sandy said after the game, if we lose that game, we go into Seattle (a place that we've historically struggled) still 3 back in the division. Instead, we pull it out, and now we're just 1 game out. Earlier in the season, we would have lost both games 2 and 3 (when we were down 4-1 early, and a close game late on the road). The fact that we won both of them shows those doubters that this Sox team has a legitimate shot.

A person's career is a big part of their life, and even though he apparently has little-to-no baseball talent, he's got a hefty bank account. I'm sure he's quite happy with that. Now, I don't know about his personal life, but this discussion is not about that.

Since joining the Reds, D'Angelo has 29 hits in 86 at bats. That comes out to...oh f*** it. If the guy went on to win the triple crown next year, he'd still suck in your minds, so why bother.

There can be 2 "real" teams in a division, but only 1 of them can win. Case in point -- the AL East, as Texsox pointed out. Just because a person says "KC is for real, but I think the Sox will win the division", that is not a contradictory statement.

He's got quite the life if you ask me. He's a major league baseball player with a career OBP of .289 and he's making $625,000 a year.

There is no substitute for hard work, but some natural talent would come in handy.

I use a chat program called Trillian. You can sign into AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, MSN, and IRC all at the same time (and up to 5 screen names for each). It's pretty nice -- don't have to spend several minutes loading up each of the programs.

Not only is Loaiza's ERA MORE than a full run better than Halladay's, but this is the most telling stat of all IMO... Run support... Halladay = 7.15 (#2 in the AL, 3rd overall) Loaiza = 4.76 (#32 in the AL, not even in the top 40 overall) So basically, if you give Loaiza the run support that Halladay has received, he'd be at least 16-2. Scoreboard. Plus, the sox are much more likely to make the playoffs, which helps. The advantage Halladay has is, hes a known commodity. That may get him in. IMO, if the Sox make the playoffs and Loaiza's ERA is a full run better than Halladay's, it's a slam dunk. The thing that got Halladay all the publicity is this damned winning streak he's on. It's too bad we blew the lead in the last game that we faced him -- otherwise it would be over. Oh well.

Stick to baseball, kid. It's quite obvious that you have zero knowledge of Rick Fox nor the Lakers, and most likely the rest of the NBA as well. Yes, I am no expert on things like you are. I don't blame domestic violence on the victim (!!!) and I don't learn my life lessons from a bunch of talking vegetables. Maybe some day! He didnt blame the violence on the women. He blamed the women for accepting it. There is a HUGE difference. Thank you for being one of the very few people on here that can actually read something and understand its meaning. People like Spiff should take notes. No problem. I respect people who are honest and upfront. I wish there were lots more like you.............

Just a little thought...if our offense got hot like this in the playoffs, we'd be WS champs.

So why did you ask someone to share their experience with domestic violence? If "no 2 cases are the same" and there are "too many variables", wouldn't those experience(s) be irrelevant? And the LAST thing women who are being beaten by their husband/boyfriend should do is have a child with that man. All that does is bring another life into this world that will likely be f***ed up.

Shaq does a lot of talking -- I'd be surprised if he was serious.

She's obviously got psychological issues (anyone who would do something like that has got to be sick), so she will serve no time in jail. Probably a few months in a loony bin, and she'll be out in society again. *sigh*

100% correct. And if you marry someone that turns out to be a psycho, chances are, you didn't know them very well to begin with, and you never should have gotten married in the first place. Life is about choices my friends, and women who marry men who hit them and stay with them and take the abuse must live with that choice. I do not feel 1 iota of sympathy for someone who volutarily subjects themself to abuse of any kind -- be it verbal, physical, and/or mental.
