I think we'll learn a lot about Beuhrle this offseason. Sure, most guys will just take the highest amount of money, but MB has talked for years about retiring, being close to home, he's made plenty of money, etc. It's time for him to put his money where his mouth is. If he ends up signing with an East or West coast team for a stack of money, he's basically showing that he's full of s***. The only teams that make sense for him (with his hinting about playing in the NL) would have to be something like the Cardinals, Cubs, Brewers, Reds, and of course returning to the Sox. This is all from taking a cursory look at distance on a map of the United States. The Cardinals don't have the room for him, and I seriously doubt he'd go to the Cubs. I'm not too sure of the situations of the Brewers and Reds.

I think the Cardinals winning it all makes Pujols re-signing a ton more likely. They have the extra money generated from the title and run, the media and fan focus on it, etc. I don't think they can let him walk now.
