  1. The one guy I hate in this series is Beltre, so of course he hits the go-ahead homer.
  2. QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) It was Franklin that convinced Washington to even attend the Constitutional Convention and worked hard to assure George was in charge. OK, Washington still had to lead the army to one of the most unforeseen victories ever, and then take the reigns as first president when he could have basically been, in other words, a king. George Washington is the living embodiment of the Roman ideal of Cincinnatus. The perfect kind of leader.
  3. QUOTE (juddling @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) I'm not sure if Clay will get his by the end of the season but if he does I would sure like it to be Opie who pulls the trigger. Clay took out his old man and by extension took out the mother of his kids. On another note....another Netflix find for me has been the BBC version of Being Human. Orginally, i wasn't sure about the premise (a ghost, werewolf and vampire living together trying to be normal) but i'm through 2 out of three seasons so far and I have love it. I know there is an American version of this show on Syfy but never got around to seeing it. Comedy, I imagine?
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 07:06 PM) Maybe I was too strict. Didn't count anything with wrestling, bowling, poker/cards, or pool. My list would have been much different if I had. Big fan of The Wrestler btw. Perhaps you should lighten up, Francis.
  5. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) Need a corny idea??? In the past, I had a costume where nobody guess what I was. I got a black plastic kettle, hung it around my neck, and filled it up with bars of DIAL soap with a sign that said "What Am I?" Nobody guessed it, so at the end of the day I revealed to everyone that I am dressed up as a "Crock-O-Dial!!!" (Maybe that's why I don't post much. Who could stomach the one-liners?? Ah who knows.........maybe someday I'll reach #1000 yet!!) Take a bunch of boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Total, Raisin Bran, Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Pebbles, etc. and staple them to a shirt. Walk around with a bloody knife. Cereal killer.
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) You will never see me in the slandering Frank TYhomas camp That's because it doesn't really exist on this site.
  7. I can never say anyone but Washington. I will give Franklin his props, though. He invented the coolest weapon of the day.
  8. My Ride's Here, but probably the Springsteen version.
  9. http://www.cracked.com/article_18788_the-5...er4=recommended Incredibly unlikely things that happened.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) Not to mention that is has been a consistent response. I sure don't recall anyone saying hire Jim Thome, but not Frank Thomas because they like him better or something. The response has been almost universal to get someone who actually has experience as a hitting coach that amounts to more than I used to hit the ball a really long ways. If Frank really wants to do this, take notes from Ryne Sandberg. I don't care that Ventura got hired, he should not have been the manager of the White Sox right now. Enough with the inexperienced and no experienced crap. Hire someone who has done the job before. Exactly.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Radon is awesome, but Thad carries the show. There's that name again!
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) Alternatively, sodomizing him with sharp instruments, as supposedly happened, would be a great way to draw international condemnation.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) Apparently loyalty is only a valuable commodity when half of Soxtalk isn't in the "F*ck Frank Thomas" Camp. That's a bit of an exaggeration.
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) Opie had a run, Chibbs had a bit with the Irish, Tara has had quite a bit. Honestly, theyve devoted quite a bit to other characters, it's just last season with the Irish that got out of hand. Last season and the current season. Tara is a main character, in my mind.
  15. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 10:08 AM) I'm surprised only two other people listed 61*. It would've been a great theater release, and the fact that it was a TV movie makes it that much better.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 09:14 AM) Props to the other person who had the Wrestler high up too. This guy!
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 08:36 AM) Tig and Bobby have had their fair share over the years. At present. Bobby has a ton to offer right now, and he's just being used to give Clay the stink eye in the background.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 12:55 AM) http://product.half.ebay.com/The-2005-Worl...704&tg=info Hey look, brand new for $1.99! I'm sure it's at my family's house.
  19. That's the kind of stuff I mean. Another guy was struck by lightning seven times, which is like 500 septillion to 1. But that might break my own rule because it's seven separate occasions, not one event.
  20. And the above is a joke, in case anyone feels like flying off the handle.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 11:07 PM) Herbert? I will murder you.
  22. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&biw...sa=N&tab=wf The second one. Thanks, I gotta have it somewhere. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 12:23 AM) Holy f*** that is him. I always knew that voice sounded so familiar but couldn't figure it out. Goosebumps every single time. It's gotta say it on the box or something
  23. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) I beg your pardon!! Haha, I completely forgot that that was someone's handle. It's hard to imagine a black guy named Thad, too.
  24. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) They have too many good characters going right now for them to truly ruin the show. Im just going to enjoy the ride, they have my faith after season 2 and the end of season 3. Literally the only saving grace of season 3 was the final half hour of the season finale. It was awesome, but all of the rest of it was terrible. It's true that they have good characters, but many of them are woefully underused in order to push useless storylines or make room for certain characters that are getting way more face time than necessary (*cough*GEMMA*cough*). Take for instance Piney. That character would be a great person to give more focus to, but the only time he ever got any was to be killed by Clay in order to cement one of the most ridiculous heel turns in TV history. Clay was always a little bad and mostly good, then this season he's all of a sudden Lex Luthor. The only minor character they're using almost fully to their ability is Juice.
  25. Anyone know of any good movies based on myth/lore? I realized that some of the movies I've seen recently that I really liked (Trollhunter, Beowulf, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark) are based on these things.
