  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) Except hiimself Mostly just his nose went unprotected.
  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 11:22 AM) I like favorite movie villains if we were to go with something else. Not sure what I dislike more, animated movies or comic book/superhero stuff. Don't watch South Park. Easy choice here, I went with defunct sports teams. Standup comedians would be my next choice. I really like the idea of the villains. I voted for animated movies in this poll, but I'd change my vote to villains if it were added to the list.
  3. A sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel from Dunkin' Donuts is awesome.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) Yep. Totally lame. I was really excited for that show too. It could have been the next Battlestar Galactica. Instead it was some awful version of Star Trek Deep Space Nine. So many easy fixes could have saved it - have a mini-series style start to establish the entire world of Terra Nova. Instead they wasted about half to three quarters of the 2 hour premiere on bulls*** family drama that wasn't necessary; Generate an interesting and believable major plot-line. Instead they have this stupid "sixer" mystery mixed with the son's illogical and unreasonable attempts to get his GF there. Show much more of the main families older daughter. She's hot. (probably not a real complaint, but still) Ugh. So much potential. Just ruined by poor writing. I'm shocked that executives couldn't see this coming after the third episode. I never got past the second episode. It was abundantly clear at that point that it was going nowhere.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) You talking about Theo or Buehrle? The Buehrle-Cubs talk has been on the radio a lot this morning. I still say I'd be STUNNED, as I can't see someone like Buehrle signing with the rival of his two beloved teams. My entire attitude towards Buehrle will swing as far is it possibly can in the blink of an eye if he does that.
  6. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 10:34 AM) Then why did so many people complain when Ozzie called for a sac bunt in front of Konerko? The person was probably a terrible bunter?
  7. QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 08:24 AM) Romine and Montero are not even close... Montero has an epic bat, probably second best bat in the minor leagues. He's a top 6 prospect on that alone, which should tell you something. Romine is probably in the backend of the top 100 list around 85 to 100. I'd run Cashman over with my car if he signs CJ Wilson. I do not want and I don't see how we could even sign him to fit within the budget. We're already at a 194 million payroll and Hal has a cap at 208, 212 if he signs off on extra money. Wilson's going to cost 18 to 20 million per as well and we need more than just him. Man, baseball is just getting stupid. C.J. Wilson is not worth that much money at all.
  8. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) Do you or any of those other people know any football teams that are going to cover their spread this weekend? I could really use a sure thing. See, this stuff is just being difficult for the sake of being difficult. If someone correctly predicted the stock market crash of 1929, you'd probably say that there was no way they actually knew it was going to happen. Just a good guess.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 10:45 PM) I'll put the poll up tomorrow. I was only kidding, but sweet!
  10. Ugh, that makes her look gross.
  11. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 10:09 PM) This is awesome. Got a mention on Twitter from Drew Magary about it. Link Somewhere, a vein in BigSqwert's forehead just popped.
  12. It's nice to finally be on the receiving end of one of those Gold Gloves for life things.
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 07:14 PM) Are you saying that because something hasn't happened before that is a proven fact that it cannot happen in the future? Be realistic, some thought the Sox were out of it and obviously they didn't pull it off, but nobody "knew" anything for sure. Whatever general semantics you want to throw at it, many knew it wasn't happening. Those people were right. And now since they predictably failed, it was the smarter idea to believe that they were in it because there's always a literal chance until mathematically eliminated.
  14. I like almost all of those movies and love Pulp Fiction, don't get me wrong, but my favorite is Die Hard With A Vengeance.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) Well, like two people did that. The rest pointed out what he said was actually right on cue. NO SHUT UP YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF BABY WHINERS AND I'M TAKING MY BALL AND GOING HOME. I agree with Manto, though.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) All I can say is look at how all of them were viewed in their own times... Washington demolishes the rest of them. Another good way of looking at it.
  17. QUOTE (The Baconator @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) Get out, you lived in that building for a year? I myself don't believe in anything like ghosts but my friend that lives there does; she's mentioned seeing some things. Any experience with that? Not at all. Your friend is full of s***. The only thing that was even remotely creepy was the fog that'd envelop the place on occasion. It's on a hill, so that was very Silent Hill-y.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) Thanks, Knight! So no other fans of Varsity Blues?? I thought that would be somewhere on the list. Varsity Blues is very similar to Entourage. It's cool when you're in your teens and/or early 20's because it's just a way for you to masturbate to a "that's what I'd do if I were a celebrity/stud football player" scenario, but then you get older and realize how much it sucked. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) 1. The Wrestler 2. The Sandlot 3. The Hustler 4. Field of Dreams 4. Remember the Titans 6. Jerry Maguire 7. Miracle 8. Happy Gilmore 9. Coach Carter 11. The Express 12. Major League 13. The Blind Side 14. The Big Lebowski 15. Angels in the Outfield (90s) 16. Finding Forrester 17. Eight Men Out 18. Bad News Bears (00s) 19. We Are Marshall 20. The Fighter 21. The Sixth Man 22. Space Jam 23. Moneyball 24. The Mighty Ducks 25. Alley Cat Strike/Brink/Johnny Tsunami/Luck of the Irish What a cheater. I actually was about 1/3 through The Express when I had to leave because my buddy had something come up and he was my ride. It was good, but I still haven't finished it.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) him and Mcgrad can be those old guys on the corner complaining about those damn kids on the lawn And those cheap Jews running the team into the ground to line their own pockets!
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 01:27 PM) Which is to still say neither of them should be doing it... Yes.
  21. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) You don't like the Cardinals, OK fine, was Tampa Bay ever out of it? There's 2 "one in a million" chances that happened at the same time. And over the years, the Sox have not done that. Leave other teams out of this. The fact is that a lot of people knew the Sox were out of it, but a larger number only looked at the number of games back and refused to see what has proven time and again to be the fact.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) I'm curious to know which side you come down on... I'm against the "couple" of posters disagreeing with the rest. Hard slotting is a good idea.
