  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) Groins typically don't heal quickly either. Fantastic.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) Counting today, the White Sox are 17-11 since May 7, their bottom. That's a .607 winning percentage. That's right where you say they need to be. Haha, yes I'm sure they're going to sustain that winning percentage for another 4 straight months.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) 90 wins is a pipedream. That was my entire point.
  4. When do we just pack it in? We'd need a .614 winning percentage the rest of the year to get to 90 wins. Combine that with the fact that we regularly play poorly in August and September, it's incredibly bleak. It's not going to happen. Why do they have to keep acting like the ship isn't sinking around them? Why must we pretend that things are going to magically turn around? Why do we always underachieve? And how many times do the same old things need to happen before we decide it's time for a change? The fact that nobody on this team has lost their job is insulting at this point.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Couple of bright spots today: Dunn's squared up two pitches, and Beckham seems to have found his power stroke. Too early
  6. Awesome. I love the crowd giving it to him.
  7. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) Maybe if we put him on waivers, an idiot GM will claim him! There is no General Manager in baseball that's dumb enough to do that
  8. This is certainly a feel-good story, and I'm happy for Brent. My only concern is that Lillibridge will be Walker's "World Series" in that his one success amid countless failures will keep him around for another 5 years.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) Teahen was hitting sub-.200 at Charlotte. He's obviously proven all he can down there.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 11:10 PM) If Adam Dunn hit .280 for the rest of the year and averaged 6 homers a month from here until the end of the season, his line ends up somewhere along the lines of .240/.380/.470/.850 with about 30 homers. His 162 game average is .248/.379/.515/.893 and 39 homers. He hit .288 in the first half of last season - 88 games - and he was at .281 in game 98 of last year, so there is some ability to hit for average there, even if it takes a bit of luck. Also, during the only point in his career where the team he was on was contending whatsoever, 2008 with the Diamondbacks, he put up .243/.417/.472/.889 during part of August and September and was on about a 32 homer pace. He's hit well when his team has been in it before. Again, I am not worried about him at all. At all? Really?
  11. I've called Dunn an offensive Javier Vazquez, but I think Rios is a much better choice. Rios is a position player version of Javy. I was really excited to pick Rios up, too. Besides starting out hot last year, he's been a huge disappointment to say the least.
  12. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) LMAO. .220 hitters all over the lineup and they don't know where they'd put another bat. That's pathetic. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) "WHERE WOULD HE PLAY?"
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) If he develops into the potential defensive 3B he is on an arc to be on, I don't care about his offense. On a team centered around pitching, his D, along with Alexei's, is huge. Hehehehe
  14. I want to see it, but I'd like to know if Beast has a major role. If he does, I'm definitely seeing it.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) It wouldnt be the first on-air partner that Hawk had a tiff with. But if Stone leaves because of Hawk, it will gain a hell of a lot more attention than DJ or Wimpy. Gee, I hope Stone wasn't molested as a child.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) 10 years of a nearly .800 or .800+ OPS, with the defense he's already playing? Yeah, I could totally live with that. Me too. I meant it as a compliment.
  17. He had minor surgery and is available tonight? I don't get that. Two things worry me, though. Dunn's minor surgery didn't have a great outcome. And Konerko's last bad season was due to a wrist injury.
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) Ugh...
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) Because is it really worth your effort? This is the reason they'll keep doing this s*** and getting away with it. People are too lazy to even try to enforce the law when they're the ones getting screwed.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) ChuckGarfien Chuck Garfien Remember in 2009 when White Sox couldn't get any pinch hits? They're 9 for 21 (.429). #1 in majors. I guess they had to be good at something on offense
  21. I'll be the first to say it. I hope Posey never gets completely right again. I'd also like to see Cousins become a mainstay in the league.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) I agree with this. If the girls weren't smart enough to throw your cards away a year later, then they obviously are missing something upstairs anyway. So because they're stupid, they should be allowed to get away with it?
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 11:54 AM) So to make a long story short here's what happened to me last summer: had my wallet stolen at a bar by a girl who proceeded to run out before we could confront her. Her friend didn't immediately leave and my buddy knew who it was. Nothing ever happened I cancelled everything right away, but I lost 50 or so bucks and had to go through the hassle of getting new cards, new ID all of that. Now, just got a call today that all my cards were found in an apartment of two tennants who were just kicked out. One of the names was the girl who was the friend who was there that night. So is it even worth it for me to press charges? And is there anything I can even do? It was a really s***ty situation and was a major inconvenience and there's a lot of me that would love to get back at them. At the same time, i'm not really going to gain anything so I don't know if I should just go get my stuff and move on and forget it. f*** that moving on s***. This isn't just about you anymore. These people are clearly scumbags on a regular basis. You press charges and it may prevent them from doing it again. I assure you that they will do it again if they see no consequences. Press those charges like no other.
