  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:07 PM) Do NOT tell me I missed that tonight. I won't tell you that YOU MISSED THAT TONIGHT.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:41 PM) Actually, an "El Duque" would be Aardsma earlier this year, but yea, still a great job by Jon. Aardsma got out of a bases loaded, no out jam?
  3. Just put in one more scoreless inning, Jon. His ERA is back to respectable.
  4. No way Garland pitches into the 7th inning. He has way too many pitches.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) So the backlash Raw Main event is going to be a Texas 4 way, first pin wins match? I cannot imagine a more creative way to get Cena/Orton/Edge/Michaels in the ring together /green. The WWE needs a heel turn that is going to surprise everyone. They need something crazy to happen besides a McMahon getting shaved CM Punk good enough for ya?
  6. He's got 35 pitches through 3 innings. He's gonna go the whole 9.
  7. It was really nice of Thome and AJ to work the count.
  8. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) I dont know what to think of this, I really dont like rules that are put into place after the actions have taken place (ex post facto). The article implies that the NFLPA is agreeing with this, and if that is the case then I expect that the suspensions will stand. If however the NFLPA realizes that they are giving up an extreme amount of power by basically letting the commisioner suspend anyone for "detrimental conduct" and they decide to fight it, I really doubt that the suspensions will stand. I dont have the contracts or anything between the NFLPA, NFL, etc, but the fact that such a suspension has never happened before for much worse conduct, think Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis, its hard for me to agree with such harsh suspensions. T Im of the belief that what you do on your own free time is just that, and as long as they are not breaking the law (which should be handled by the judiciary) then they can do whatever they want. If I want to go to a strip club and shower 40k, no one is going to stop me, so why should they not have the same freedom? Seems more like the No Fun League. They get paid ridiculous amounts of money to play a game. If they can't follow simple rules of conduct and basic human decency, that's too bad. They can go bag groceries if they're unhappy with it. They'll get no pity from 99% of people.
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 01:44 PM) Coming soon to a video store near you...The Sandlot 3!!! And the description is enough to make you puke. "Sucessful, arrogant baseball superstar Tommy "Santa" Santorelli travels back in time to 1976 and relives his boyhood days on the sandlot baseball team, this time choosing friendship over glory and ultimately earning both.." We'll always have the original and Wendy Peppercorn. Peffercorn, actually.
  10. QUOTE(iamshack @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) As much as Podsednik's defensive prowess has been mocked around here, I truly believe he has been better since the later part of last season defensively. I worry more about JD out there in right than I do about Scottie in left. For whatever reason, no one mentions how terrible-looking Dye is out there though... I mentioned it a lot last season. Dye has lost more than a step out in RF. It's only a matter of time before he's placed in left or DHing.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:57 PM) I'm crossing my fingers for Shane-O-Mac to win the ECW title tonight! I came on here just to say that. I f***ing love Shane.
  12. QUOTE(FLsouthsider @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Baseball and the media work symbiotically, for better or worse. Do you not think that the organization gets anything in return for these "free seats?" Are there writers that show up just to go? Probably, but the beat writers have a job to do, day-in, day-out (and that includes, obviously, visiting media. what a great way to represent the city). I think reducing things to "free seats" is a terrible argument. Writers are there to write. They don't charge me $15 to walk in the door at my job, I don't see why baseball would, either. And if they made some changes at my office that made it more difficult to do my job (and against what every other business in that industry was doing), I'd probably complain, too. The comparison you make to your job is way off. You are more comparable to the players or vendors who work at the stadium. A better comparison for these writers would be somebody who goes to your office, watches you from a cushy spot, and then pisses all over you in an article the next morning.
  13. You have to feel awful for the guy.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) spoiler Didnt the 2 brothers have a bomb they setoff that was causing everything to blow off. Like Rodriguez told them 2 wait 3 minutes and than hit it. That explains the very end, but there were explosions throughout the movie.
  15. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree. Thome's basically an automatic K in late situations.
  16. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) Cardinals- 0, White Sox- 1. Only hit? Thome bomb in the 8th. Seriously you guys, lay off Thome. Jesus f***ing christ, you people are so forgetful. I think Thome's pretty deserving of his reputation around here for not being clutch.
  17. Well, the bullpen has definitely been a positive so far this year.
  18. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Aardsma has been solid. Since I can't watch right now, could someone explain something. Is Aardsma actually pitching well or are the Twins just kind of going through the motions with a lead like this for Santana?
  19. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) Watching this team try to hit lefties drove me there. How can you sit in the last few days of Spring Training, and honestly say "OK, despite the fact that there is an asston of LHPs in our division that we HAVE to find a way to beat, its in our best interest to cut a great hitter vs. LHP, and instead keep a CFer that won't see that time of day in terms of playing time." Perfect sense to me. Pff, you got me. Has Perez been signed by anyone yet? Perhaps it's not too late to get him in here.
  20. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) Nah, literally just laughing out loud, with no one around but myself...that sound better? I can accept that one. You're just insane
  21. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 04:03 PM) Our effort against Santana just makes me lol to myself...I don't understand the approach at all. That's kind of an oxymoron, no?
  22. Watching Johan face the Sox, one would think it impossible that any team could ever score a run against him, let alone beat him. He's at 97 pitches. Perhaps with it being so early in the year, Gardenhire won't send him back out for the 8th.
  23. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) Another embarrassing performance against Santana. Anyone else realize in the last two starts against lefties (Sowers and Santana) we have only 2 hits? That's pathetic. I really wish Perez had made the team. Somebody really surprised Aardsma with that gameday picture.
