  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) I actually enjoyed Tarantino's movie a lot, it was way way more realistic than Planet Terror and I think the movie needed the talking, it also why his past movies have been successful. And like mentioned b4, when there was action it was top notch. Thats not a knock on Planet Terror which still overall was prob the better movie. Also I think that the Machete trailor might be a real one that Rodriguez plans on working on. A movie about a vehicular killer is more realistic than a zombie flick?! GET OUTTA TOWN!!!! And I heard Machete is going to be a straight-to-video release.
  2. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 08:44 PM) Just got back from the game, well worth it after the nice outing by the Sox pitching staff. Garland looks like a bad dude in your profile.

    WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! RESURRECTION!!!!!!!!1
  4. Positive game on all counts. Good, good, good.
  5. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 06:41 PM) I prefer hitters with career BA of .365 or better for bases loaded situations. It just seems that Crede is more apt to swing for the fences than, say, a guy like Iguchi, Dye, or Konerko.
  6. With the bases loaded, those are probably the last two guys I want up there. They seem to be the guys who try to be heroes too much.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 06:30 PM) Is Wade Boggs your favorite player in history now? Close. Though I'm sure if Herbert Perry and Curt Hennig ever met, they'd hit it off nicely.
  8. Can someone explain exactly what just happened for those of us relying on gameday?
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 06:21 PM) Zero. It was about a 40-45 on the 20-80 scale last year. A below average pitch that he couldn't throw for strikes with regularity. He looked to have much better command of it in Atlanta, and I would have graded it as an above average pitch from what I saw there. We haven't really seen it during the regular season though. Thanks for the input.
  10. Did he throw any sliders in that sequence? And follow-up question, exactly how good is his new slider?
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Most impressive thing of the start was I didn't see anyone spell Vazquez wrong in this thread. Are you talking about Javier Vasquez?
  12. Just got back from Grindhouse. I'll echo what others have said. The first movie (Rodriguez) was much better than the second (Tarantino). The second did have its moments, though.
  13. Has a player ever gotten 100 in any category whatsoever? I thought they made 99 the highest it could be.
  14. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:35 PM) The Royals are going to be tough if they can get outings like this by DeLaRosa. He's never had good control, but he shut down the Tigers most of the game and Riske (yes, that Riske) got the save pretty effortlessly. Magglio looks bad at the plate and especially in the field (looks like he has some kind of health isssue), and Sheffield appears, to me at least, to be a little overweight. It's a little different with Jose Mesa or Ledezma in the game, compared to the usual middle relief the Tigers put out there last year. I think they will miss Jamie Walker a lot. I-Rod actually led off. The Royals' fifth starter is Brandon Duckworth, but they're going with ace Gil Meche against Maroth tomorrow afternoon. I think they really wanted Brian Bannister to take the job, but he was shelled in ST. Elarton is coming back from injury and should be ready fairly soon. Even though they're 2-2, the pitching for the Royals has kept them close in every game except for the second game of the Red Sox series. OTOH, Alex Gordon is REALLY struggling so far out of the gate. But it's ONLY four games. Don't say that. Just because someone happens to pitch at the top of a rotation, it doesn't make that person an ace. Gil Meche is all the proof you'll ever need to prove that. He's their #1 pitcher, but there's no way in hell that he's an ace. Sorry, just a pet peeve. No offense to you at all, caulfield.
  15. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 08:43 PM) For Milkman and everyone else who enjoyed Mr. Perfect... Mr. Perfect tribute Add to My Profile | More Videos Don't take this the wrong way, but I you now. I cannot freakin' wait for that DVD to come out.
  16. I am going to see Grindhouse tomorrow. Don't get me wrong, I wanna see it, but I really don't know about sitting through over 3 hours of it.
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) is Matsuzaka's first name actually pronounced "Dice-K" or does everybody just call him that because they think they're cool? They say that's how it's pronounced.
  18. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 01:38 AM) Very poor taste to put the Hayabusa one in there. Same for the Austin piledriver. And goddamn Hogan sandbagged on that chokeslam from Taker. Surprised to see just 1 Gayda botch and a few from the Briscoes. I've seen that before. It's like the Scott Steiner show. I swear he's in 1/3 of the clips. Which one is the Hayabusa one? And what exactly happened?
  19. Welcome to the bigs, kid.
  20. I didn't actually get to see the game, but his line looks good. Did he look good?
  21. This year's really not starting the way I'd hoped. Buehrle leaving the game and NOT being hurt is the best thing to happen in a while. That's sad.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) The Mariners? Talk about underachieving.
