  1. I hope Korea wins now. Who am I kidding? I wanted Korea to win since they advanced to the second round. And I can't say a part of me didn't want to see America get eliminated.
  2. U-S-A U-S-A U-S-A Pff, who needs to win this thing anyway
  3. So, is the USA eliminated if they lose here? Or do they advance if they're within a run or something?
  4. Around $13 million a year for Roy Halladay? I'd like that deal.
  5. Didn't Jenks and Cotts both skip AAA? I know it's a stretch that someone could also skip AA, but it still gives me hope.
  6. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) Somebody just answer the damn original qquestion. I've typed the words into google a bunch of different ways, and all I can come up with is that it is a song created by Old Navy. It's catchy and annoying as hell.
  7. If it's just a strain like they're saying, then that's great. Let's just get ourselves at least one more real reliever, and start this season.
  8. Is scientology overly represented by f***ing retarded douchebag Hollywood types? I honestly cannot understand how stupid you have to be to fall for this garbage. And to solve the problem of chef, I'm sure there are plenty of people that can do a great impression of Isaac Hayes. There's your answer.
  9. Yeah, I guess you have to meet a quota to be considered genocidal. 600 people, pff. f***ing loser couldn't even get to a grand, eh? Slobodan Milosevic is burning in hell. That's the end of that.
  10. QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) "dream team", f***ing ridiculous IMO, there's just been one dream team. Now it's just a bunch of glory hogs that really don't give a s*** either way. Oh well, at least the baseball players seem to actually want it.
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) glad to see players actually come out and play like they should. Yeah, it's not like this is basketball or anything.
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) I kind of agree with him. I mean, you had at least 2 big presences in that locker room. Everyone on that team loved Carl Everett. And yeah they had great chemistry starting off because most of these guys were here the previous year. You're bringing in a bunch of new people now and expecting some of them to take leadership roles. Honestly, I don't think PK is a leader. I kind of got that impression when he really didn't want to wear the "C". It seems like he doesn't want to be responsible if the team is doing bad. Don't confuse my statements as saying I don't think we could win it this year. I think we have as good as shot as anybody else, but chemistry is certainly a factor. Podsednik, Dye, Iguchi, Pierzynski, El Duque, McCarthy, Vizcaino, Jenks, Ozuna, Blum, and Hermanson were not on the team before last year.
  13. How about people confusing dominant and dominate? He's a dominate pitcher.
  14. Uh, I haven't read this thread since about 12:00. Has anything important been said, besides that the Sox traded Bajenaru for Cintron?
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) Mack and Cintron could both start on other teams. I would say thats a plus. I meant would you say it's the best, one of the top 3, or top 5?
  16. How does everyone think our bench matches up against other teams' benches?
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) I wonder who needs a middle infielder right now. I know the Marlins are looking for one, who else? Do the Rockies? They have a few lefty relievers to spare.
  18. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) Perhaps this is the end of Ozuna? I'd cry.
  19. A couple things crossed my mind. Wasn't Cintron hurt a lot last year (or I might be thinking about Izturis)? Maybe the D-backs feel he can't contribute much now. Or maybe someone on the Sox is hurt? Sorry, this is the skeptic in me coming out.
  20. I love coming back from class to news of a great trade. It isn't the first time it's happened this offseason. Baj for Cintron? If Cintron is healthy, this is easily in favor of the Sox. This also makes me think KW will still trade for another reliever. I don't know why or how, but I think it will happen.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) The fatigue seemed to be more mental. He just didn't seem to have a lot of focus at the plate, and was chasing pitches above his head and in the dirt. Oh well, at least he waited back on that curve by David Wells! The day before that game, I was arguing with a friend about who was better between Iguchi and Graffanino. He kept saying they were the same player, but I kept telling him that Graff was a pretty bad defender and that he had a knack for choking when it mattered. As soon as Graffanino let that ball go through his legs, and then Iguchi homered, he had to admit he was wrong. He was pretty pissed that it had to be those two players involved.
  22. QUOTE(juddling @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) Once again an X-man movie coming out on my birthday...sweet!!!!!!!!! it will be interesting to see not only where the movei goes but what it will lead to as far as the next sequel goes. it's nice they are bringing in Beast (even more interesting with Kelsey Grammer) and i believe they are introducing Arch-Angel as well as a couple others. I also am happy they are keeping the young Iceman in this one as well...but would it be that hard to bring in Gambit???? Damn....well....maybe X4 will be the one. Isn't it coming out on May 26th? If so, that's also my birthday. I heard they're not using Gambit because he's "too similar to Cyclops" or something like that. I agree that they should have him. They're also using Colossus more in this one. I love that they're adding Beast (he's my favorite) and it seems like good casting with Kelsey Grammer, but I was kind of hoping they'd make him look bigger. From the commercial, it doesn't seem like he's bigger than anyone else.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Isnt it possible that Maris used some performance enhancing drugs? The guy was injury prone, died early of cancer, and never really approached that HR total again. It sure is. I have actually heard that Mantle may have used some form of them, too.
  24. Awwww (need to change my pants)...I really hope they have solid proof. Man, that would be great. I've been waiting for this for a long time. And to answer who the HR champion is, it is Aaron for a career and Maris for a season.
