  1. And didn't he get drunk and fight a teammate on the Tigers or Phillies?
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) It could just be natural rock formations that cause the flooding, and not some elaborate digging. This is an interesting critical read. http://web.archive.org/web/20020806031222/...ltes/oakisland/ That's a good article. It gives alternative explanations to almost all of the theories and such about the island. One thing it didn't mention, though, was the wooden platforms that were in the hole. I could've read something wrong, though. Maybe those platforms were put there by the excavators? Still, this is really interesting. They should just find some crazy old millionaire and have him fund a complete excavation of the island. I mean just basically dig up everything and destroy the island if they want it that badly.
  3. Yeah, a team that wins the World Series should progress, or at the very worst, stay the same.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 05:33 AM) It's obvious what's at the bottom of that pit. The Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail and King Arthur's Excaliber. I know you're being sarcastic, but can you imagine what it would be like if something like that was discovered there? I don't know anything about buried treasure, but I read all of these links, and it seems that all of this was a little too elaborate for just some treasure buried by a pirate or something. It really seems like it's something important down there. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) Because she said so on the post that got locked. Just wondering why. I know I piss off a few people, but didn't think I got to anyone that bad, my stuff isn't that good! Ah, gotcha.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) But more rbi's. I know Matsui played in a loaded yanks lineup but the guy is a rbi machine, great situational hitter. EDIT: Looked it up, combined overbay and hideki had one more rbi then paul and carl. I'm just a huge fan of Matsui would love to get him, still think it's a pipe dream. I don't know how much of a pipe dream it is. If Matsui has interest in this club, which that quote suggests, I see no reason why he can't be had if Konerko walks. Then, a trade for Overbay seems like the most plausible way to replace Konerko (that isn't an in-house replacement). It doesn't sound easy, but I really don't think it sounds like a pipe dream.
  6. I'd be pretty happy with Matsui and Overbay. They combined for 42 homers this year with a better combined average this year than Konerko and Everett. I'm sure their power numbers would increase by playing here, but I guess that's still a pretty big drop off in power numbers.
  7. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) I'm sure this was posted somewhere, but it warrants discussion... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines (Thanks Cheat) Hm, sounds like he wants to come here. Maybe the Japanese influence from Iguchi and Shingo, from before, has some effect. I really would like to get Matsui. I wonder if he'd take some kind of discount. Doubt it, but that'd be pretty sweet.
  8. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) And why do you have ME on ignore? How do you know that he does?
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) Had Francouer played the entire year in the majors, he would have won it quite easily. Full season his numbers project to around .300, 30 HR and 105 RBI or so. IMO he'll be a much better player than Ryan Howard. He better learn to take a walk, then. I think he had two walks the whole time in the majors, and one of those was intentional.
  10. Boras by a landslide. At least it seems that Rosenhaus has a heart, and he's a hero after saving a kid from drowning. I f***ing hate Boras. He's one of the worst things to happen to baseball in my lifetime.
  11. Eh, anyone else get the feeling that we're not getting any awards because everyone is pissed that we won?
  12. I don't think PK will get 6 or 7 years from anyone, but I'm surprised that the Sox won't offer him 5. I thought for sure that they'd offer 5, and absolutely no more than that.
  13. QUOTE(heirdog @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) Helton likes little boys? He does kind of look like that guy on Saturday Night Live, Chris Parnell, who I always think looks like a pedophile. In actuality, I think Helton likes the lifestyle in Colorado. I remember reading he has a lot of land there and he goes hunting, etc. on his property. In fact, the Colorado rookie phenom Clint Barmes got hurt when he fell down carrying up a slab of deer meat that he hunted on Todd Helton's property. I'm not a fan of hunting because I think it is totally unfair as the animal does not get to brandish a gun and try and kill you back but when I heard that story, I thought it was pretty apropos that Barmes broke his leg going up the stairs with a hind leg of a deer...an eye for an eye...almost. I'm pretty sure he broke his clavicle or something. Pretty sure it wasn't anything in his leg.
  14. Borchard could not start on this team when they sucked for a few years. There is NO WAY he'll start, and probably not even be in the majors, the year after they won the World Series.
  15. Wow, that's f***ing garbage. Although I'm sure KW doesn't care because he has that other big ass trophy, the Sporting News should suck a fat one.
  16. If by Mustangs, you mean St. Rita, then it's redundant to blame the loss on a coaching decision. A coaching decision has cost that team so many individual games, and a few chances at a state championship on top of that. Even though I graduated a while ago and I don't even care what the team does anymore, I can't wait until they fire that loser. He.Sucks.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Fourth outfielder? He is a better hitter than arguably anyone of our outfielders. Anyway there is just no way we can give him the 10-12 million dollars he will andcan command in this weak free agency. I still truly believe we should look into signing durazo to an incentive laden deal with a base salary of around two million and he can make up to 7-8. I think he means 4th outfielder like Everett was this year. He'd mainly be the DH, but he'd replace someone in the outfield every couple of games.
  18. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0333410/ It says right there that Topher Grace will play Venom.
  19. Does anyone think we have a realistic chance of trading for Delgado this offseason?
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Im saying we traded Aaron in a deal to get Pierre. Im still going of getting Pierre and Delgado in one deal. Podsednik Iguchi Delgado Dye-DH Pierzynski Crede Uribe Anderson-RF? Pierre In that scenario, we'd be losing power, too. PK and Rowand gone, replaced with Delgado and Pierre.
