Milkman delivers

I believe Cooper could make Vazquez better, but that money would have to eliminate the Sox from getting him. That is, unless Arizona wants to pay for like half the contract (that NY isn't paying).

I'm not even sure the Marlins will still gouge them. They're basically giving away players as long as someone will take their entire contracts. I'm sure they'll get more for Pierre than they would've before Furcal signed, but I don't trust them to gouge the Cubs.

If Byrd is replacing Elarton (and they re-sign Millwood or get someone near his quality), then I'm unhappy with this move. If Byrd is replacing Millwood, then I'm happy. Hoffman is still pretty good, but his ERA wasn't too great last year in the terrible NL West in a gigantic stadium. He'd almost definitely be a downgrade from Wickman's performance from last year.

f***. I'm pissed, even though 62.25 million is a lot per year.

What scares me is that FG might want to go deep into these games because he actually cares about these games. It's not like he's going to be facing the Royals.

I must've been out of it that day, because I can't remember that at all. It's also a pretty useless move, though.

If Byrd goes to the Royals, Washburn to the Brewers, Millwood to the Mariners/Orioles, and Burnett to the Cardinals/Orioles/Blue Jays, then this offseason will be great for the White Sox. All of the pitchers will be going to NL teams or AL teams that either suck or don't affect the White Sox much.

Wait, when did Castilla get traded to the Padres? I can't remember this at all.

It's pretty necessary, and I don't know who they'll get. If Elarton leaves, and Millwood is almost certain to leave, then they'll need two more starters. The Angels reportedly upped their offer to Byrd, so who else is there?
