The President will be across the street today...

My mom works at the CBOT. She said all the security was a pain in the ass, but Bush supposedly was extremely nice to everyone while signing a lot of autographs and talking to people's spouses on their cell phones. -
Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die. Well, I guess we might die because of our morbid obesity, but at least we'll go out happy. And that's the important thing.

I'm a big Snow fan. I've always really liked that guy.

I think you have to include Schuerholz.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 08:52 PM) ok, it came with both of those so i'll try em out. EDIT:actually, i've already beat most the GTA on playstation2 and didn't think they were all that great. I don't know what you could dislike about it. My roommates and I have been playing it for a year whenever we're bored. It's a great time killer and something to definitely laugh at when you're trying to do something funny.

Is 2006 the year the Sox pass the 100 mark?
Milkman delivers replied to JUGGERNAUT's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) I'm pretty much past that and while hopeful for next year, don't think the season will be a slam dunk (it wouldn't be if the old team had stayed intact either). That trash remark just hit a nerve. I can understand how the trash mark would set someone off. Nobody wants to say Thomas is garbage. The guy is a sure-fire HOFer. The problem is that his production last year (because he was injured and just might never be healthy again) just kind of sucked. Everett was the worst DH in baseball. With McCarthy in the pen, Vizcaino is easily replaced. Marte doesn't seem to be replaced yet, but he was our last arm out of the pen and he couldn't co-exist anymore. El Duque is replaced easily by a seemingly durable Vazquez and Rowand by a supposed similar player in Anderson. Timo and Blum were pretty bad, and Willie was hardly on the roster at all. -

QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) I would not class Frank Thomas, Carl Everett, Orlando Hernandez, Geoff Bloom, Timo Perez, Damaso Marte, Willie Harris and Luis Vizcaino as 'ass and trash'. I'm surpised this @#$% comes from you because your other posts are almost always well thought out. Your Winshare post put the new team 0.76 wins, not even one game, above the 'ass and trash' team. I also fear Rowand may prove to have been the heart of that team. Further, I don't think you can predict the toughness of the 2006 schedule using the 2005 records, just the Central could be a lot harder. The Royals acquired some good vets and can you guarantee Detroit and Minny have the same injuries as last year? Will Cleveland play only half the year again? The 'ass and trash' went 52-22 in the division last year, I think that will be tough to match. It really pains me to see guys dis a big part of the best team in baseball as 'ass and trash'. I would. They were all pretty useless last year overall. And they've been replaced with better players. We know you hate what KW is doing, but c'mon. -
New Tejada News: O's reportedly make a proposal...
Milkman delivers replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) Doesn't help the Orioles pitching situation. Infact, they're worse afterwards. Phillies aren't exactly receiving equal value for Abreu/Madson, either. Contreras would have to be added with a TOP Sox prospect. How many of those are left? The Orioles are a stupid, stupid organization. They wanted to get pitching to appease Tejada, it sounded like. If they're getting rid of Tejada, they might still be dumb enough to think that more offense will solve their problems. It just seemed like they only got interested in pitching to make their SS happy. But, if they're going to trade that player, they might just be bad enough of an organization to try for more offense. -

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) I read them, great info. Oh, I'm sure it is. It's just so long and all. Juggs puts together well thought-out posts, but they're just so complicated half the time. -

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) Your post reflected you weren't looking for me to get a suspension, s'all good. If I get a suspension, still s'all good. I think I posted something that is vulgar likely to offend the sensibilities of some readers, and to impugn aspects of their chosen faith. The post was intended to do both. I don't believe that rises to the level of a suspendable offense, but it probably makes me an asshole in the estimation of some. I can live with that. I think most of us have been around long enough to know you're not really an asshole. Well, not a huuuuuuuge asshole at least -

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) It's been done throughout this thread, everytime somebody suggests we should confine our outrage to the 4,050 accused priests and leave the rest of the Church out of it. It takes an amoral, corrupt Church leadership to protect these individuals and to repeatedly reassign them to unknowing new parishes. It also abviously required a lot of lay members to hide their heads in the sand for decades when these allegations popped up, rather than taking church leaders to task over it or leaving the faith in protest. You don't just stop following a belief because some people f***ed up. If someone in the Church does something bad, I don't just walk away from my faith. -

I bet Leinart is a piece of glass in the NFL. I don't think he'll be able to take hits from pro defenders. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) I find it ironic that you can argue for drugs, socialism, anti-americanism, all things left because you feel that you are so open and understanding....but the minute a catholic crosses your path thats when you just have to draw the line, all catholics except for a few are evil people that are responsible for the worlds evils. Its the socialist doubletalk twostep. I am sure that we can find evil actions by all societies throughout history. But please cherry pick the evil catholics and their plight to destroy the earth. No catholic unless they are delusional supports priests raping children. I think those priests should be excommunicated and tried for their crimes. However who the hell are you to judge all catholics and lump them in because of your biggoted anti-religion view. The church isnt preaching for the spread of aids. What a myopic view you have of this issue. GMAFB, If these poor african people are truly such good little catholics that they have to sit by doctrine law and dont use birth control, then what the hell are they doing having sex outside of the confines of marriage. So there goes the misconception that aids in africa is the problem of the church, because if they decide to go poking around outside of marriage then they can put on a rubber. Maybe you can build a time machine and enjoy the roman empire and how they treated the catholics. *slow clap* -

Wow, pretty pathetic allowing a TD run right up the middle when you're just trying to prevent them from converting on 4th and 1 on like the 10 yard line. -

Just after reading the first post, they can't do that. We don't even need a SS. We especially don't need to give up a starter and great prospects for one.
