From Rotoworld: The Indians, Mariners, Royals and Tigers are among the teams that have displayed interest in free agent Kenny Rogers. Rogers turned 41 this month, but he is going to want a multiyear deal. The Rangers aren't expected to make an offer to keep him. Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram Since the Tigers and Indians are after him, I thought this belonged here. Not sure how I feel about this.

Couldn't we have both, seriously?

I'm a huge country music fan, so I'm going to see this. I was talking to my friend yesterday who's a big fan of bands with names like Most Precious Blood and The Black Dahlia Murder, and even he wants to see this. My point is that almost everyone likes a little Cash.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) I'd really like to see some of your girlfriends/wifes so I can say how ugly they are. I guarantee Fergie is better than your gf/wife if you even have one. How does she compare to the "girlfriend" you're constantly bringing up? You know, if everyone else's girlfriends are ugly and all.

Scientologists are f***ing insane. I knew that before this episode, and now a lot more people should know.

QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) In my most humblest of opinions, The Godfather II is the greatest film ever, a perfect 10. I'd give #1, a 9.5, and #3 a 4 (the first hour was great, the rest dragged, and Sofia Coppola couldn't act her way out of a paper bag!). Eh, in my most humblest of opinions, The Shawshank Redemption is the greatest film ever.

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) Thats what im wondering. WHat happens if Pauly leaves also. Are we going to do what Boston did and invite players who signed elsewere to enjoy the ceromonies? It just wont be the same but I think it would be the right thing do do. Lets see: You have Soxfest- in which the players will be cherished more than the '85 bears by the fans. You have Opening day- where the players will get their WS rings. Not to mention the raising of: 1. The AL Central Divsion Champions Flag 2. The American League Champions Flag 3. THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS Flag Wow i wouldn't miss that if i were Pauly, Frank, Carl, Blum, exe..... Hehe, you said do do.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) all of espn, all of the people who didn't vote for Ortiz. basically everyone who didnt vote for Ortiz that had a say in who won this award believed that a dh could not win it. I think that's probably a gross generalization. Maybe, just maybe, they voted for A-rod because he had better stats, along with the fact that he played defense and was on the team that won the division.

Even though Blum only spend a few months here, he can go into the HOF with a Sox jersey on Seriously, put this guy's face on the OF wall.

I hope he's not as healthy as Duque was before this season, if you know what I mean. -

On the Padres' board, even though it's just the MLB board, they have a rumor that it's Nady for Cameron. Sounds like the Mets would be getting the best of this one.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) i didnt say it wasn't possible to prove that steroids directly cause a death, i just said that it's impossible to find an autopsy proving such because its happened 1 or 2 times total in history. aspirin on the other hand... Do those results include things such as children accidentally ingesting aspirin or people using them to commit suicide? Something like that would absolutely f*** up results. I think it makes a lot of sense that it's more likely that you'll die from aspirin since everyone and their brother has it at arm's length any time of day. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) One of the biggest complaints about the WWE the last few years is that they only bring in big guys. Some of the best wrestlers in the country are in TNA instead of WWE because they're not "big" enough for Vince, Jim Ross, etc. However, we could go on for hours arguing about what's gone wrong with wrestling over the last couple of years. It's a damn shame to see so many wrestlers die at a young age. Wait, I didn't know JR had a big part in all of that. That's surprising. The audacity... -

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Trust me, up until like 5 years ago, I was in denial that all my favorite wrestlers were on the juice. Then, I started to get more interested in the behind the scenes aspect of it (almost interned with WWE), and that opened up a whole new world of the business. I would be simply stunned if guys like Mysterio weren't on the juice. In a business where the biggest and strongest guys get the biggest push, you need to do whatever you can to get ahead of your competition. I don't know about that. There's always gigantic new wrestlers that nobody gives two s***s about. Guys like that come and go, and they can't depend on their size to survive. I think a lot of it depends on their character and their ability to be liked or hated. I'm sure being big doesn't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary at all. -

If I had to pick the next one to go, I'd say the Big Show. That guy's just a freak of nature, and he'll probably meet an end not unlike that of Andre the Giant. Another good choice would have to be Vince McMahon himself. It's probably even worse for your health to do steroids when you're an older guy like him. Then, there's the guys that aren't wrestling anymore like Macho Man, Lex Luger, and Steiner. As for how many wrestlers that are on steroids, I'd probably say it's 50/50. HHH used to be a pansy-looking, horse-training, rich guy as a character. There is no doubt, none whatsoever, that he is on steroids. I can see Angle being on them, along with a few other small ones. But, then there's just the guys that are monsterous people, such as Kane and Undertaker. A guy I wonder about is Ric Flair. The pictures of him when he was younger show that he was enormous. To this day, he's still a really big guy, even with the man boobs. So, maybe he's just a big guy? -
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Vlad is the best player in baseball. Pujols doesn't have the arm and speed Vlad has. That's your opinion, but you won't find many others that agree. Pujols is possibly looking at a HOF career.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) I agree Pujols is great and probably the best player in baseball however that is not what this award is about. It is about which player did the most for his team and IMHO Jones fits that category. Nothing against Pujols.
