  1. QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) thats the best mariotti's got?? that moron has nothing. i dont live in chicago, but isnt this guy dispised? my cousins are giant cubs fans and they say that most cubs fans hate him too. why is this guy employed by the sun-times? Because people that "dispise" him still read his articles.
  2. Oh well, if he leaves after '06, he leaves after '06. If he really wants a good contract from someone, he'll have to be really good next year because (I think) the FA market is pretty stocked for that offseason. If he does well, he's already helped us by being a good pitcher. And if he leaves, as I already said, it's a deeper FA pool and it would be easier to find a replacement than it would be now.
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Is there by any chance a movie you have liked in your life? Serious question. Most definitely the case... Oh and how are any cartoon movies rated pg anymore? Madagascar was definitely not directed towards kids one bit. I've seen two movies in the past week that I liked. Walk the Line and Harry Potter. I'm not even a fan of the Harry Potter series and I enjoyed that movie. I'm a huge Cash fan, so it would be hard for me to dislike that movie. I also have high hopes for King Kong and Munich, and even plan on seeing Narnia because it looks like it could be good. I'm just more vocal about movies that suck, especially when they do indeed suck. BTW, A History of Violence sucked balls. The movie was terrible, although the action was great.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) We rented Robots and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy a couple of weeks ago and highly recommend both of them. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was completely uninteresting. I went to see it with two friends last year on like a Wednesday because we had nothing better to do, and there was nobody else in the theater. After about 45 minutes, none of us were paying any attention to the movie and just throwing things around in the empty theater.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) Came back looking "puffy"? What does that mean? Sounds like he means steroids? Got injured, came back with a little help. People out here seem to think Foulke might have been juicing. I really have no clue on that.
  6. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) I'm starting to develop a real bad feeling about this. Something tells me Paulie is ready to spring for coast and play for the Angels even if the Sox are able to meet or exceed their contract offers. This is really tough to digest. I'm bracing myself to bid Paulie farwell in the upcoming weeks. Just got a bad feeling about the whole thing. How would people feel if PK left for less money (or the same amount)? That would just be ugly.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) This was all our idea! Hey, I think I was the first...don't you leave me out
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) What would we have to give up to get him? Damned if I know.
  9. And not very intimidating.
  10. QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) yeah, wasn't it OUT OUT a White sox winner and a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP THE WHITE SOX HAVE WON THE WORLD SERIES AND THEY'RE MOBBING EACH OTHER ON THE FIELD! To be exact
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Well which is it. 4 years or 5? That is a big difference. 15 million a year or 18.75? If it is 15 I think we will match it. If it is 18.75 you can kiss him goodbye. 15 is bordering on overpaying for Paulie. 18.75 is way overpaying for him. He's being overpayed in both cases.
  12. Three proven, major league talents for 4 prospects (that are probably highly overrated just because they came from Boston)? f*** you, Marlins.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Nov 25, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) ask yourselves this question: if you just won the WS with a bunch of guys that rolled thru the division and then went 11-1 in the playoffs DO YOU NEED TO GET RID OF ANYONE THAT WAS AN INTEGRAL PART? I SAY HELL NO! I will say it again you gotta know when is the time to NOT try to make the team better and just leave things the way they are... At least wait until the all-star break! If KW says we need to get rid of an integral part, then yes. Yes, we should do that. And also, I think KW knows when it's time to NOT try to make the team better. He judged that this WAS the time to make the team better. And you know what? I have just a little bit more confidence in Kenny f***ing Williams than I you or anyone else. He did win a World Series not too long ago. He did reassemble a team in one offseason not too long ago. I think he has somewhat of an idea on what he's doing.
  14. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Sawks Fans> Cubs Fans> Yankees Fans come on, im a die hard white sox fan, but the true cubs fans have been tested, while yankees fans have gotten their proverbial dick sucked every 5 to 10 years for the last 100 years. 25 championships? it takes no class to be a yankees fan! Red Sox fans proved their worthyness to me by giving our boys the standing O at Fenway. That, my friends, is class. No, he was exactly right.
  15. Oh man, it's Jim f***ing Thome. We didn't get ripped off. Rowand was garbage on offense, but he played great defense that will be basically made up by Anderson. Haigwood and Gio are years away, and I'd be willing to bet that neither of them reaches their potential enough to make this trade suck. If KW hasn't earned your respect and trust yet, then there's nothing more to add.
  16. Thanks for helping with the championship.
  17. Not that I'm advocating getting Pierre, but would we be able to afford him and Konerko?
  18. Does anyone think that GMs actually laugh when proposals like this are made? I really wouldn't know how to hide my laughter and/or disgust.

  20. The Marlins will get ripped off if this thing is centered around Hanley Ramirez (without including Papelbon). Hanley is way overrated, and batted somewhere in the .280's in AA last year, I think.
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 04:37 AM) http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/spor...677_mari21.html M's to sign Japanese catcher Johjima The Mariners are going to spend more money this offseason? Didn't these idiots learn last year that they need to maybe rebuild just a little.
