  1. Justin Morneau just left the game and gameday says it's an elbow injury. Anyone know anything else?
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Wouldn't the choice have to be either Perez or Harris? They do not have a backup 1B, so that's Gload. They need somebody who can play SS and 3B, that's Ozuna. There are currently 11 pitchers and I think that number will stay put ... even though I agree they can/should ship somebody out and bring someone else in. But Ozzie only has one boyfriend. It makes me sick, but Timo is going nowhere. It's a shame that performance on the field no longer matters. Someone that is more deserving of a roster spot than Timo Perez will be sent down. Apparently performance on your knees is more important than performance as a baseball player.
  3. QUOTE(ISF @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) I need the off day to get ready for a weekend trip to the Dells. Not like I can pack and watch the Sox at the same time. And I think all of our ulcers will benefit from this day of rest.
  4. Has anyone ever seen Celtic Pride? Yeah, it's a terrible movie, but there's a lesson to be learned from it. I believe it's time for us, as fans, to take matters into our own hands...and kidnap Timo Perez. History would surely smile upon us and we'll be lauded as heroes for saving the White Sox and their 2005 season from the clutches of such a terrible, one-handed-catching threat.
  5. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) has this rumor pop up anywhere else besides the daily herald.. i wonder if we have any updated news It's been on SI.com and ESPN.com.
  6. They've been talking about this trade on the Angels' board for a while.
  7. QUOTE(professionalfan @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) yeah, you got me. (Green) I love reading the posts around here, but sometimes you take it too far and it pisses me off, that's all. You don't have to make it so personal. Just my thoughts. I'm talking to you like you are Kevin Walker. I'm not saying you suck, I'm saying Walker sucks (which he does).
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) One million votes for Timo. Don't just sit there and talk, rig it!
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Willie shouldn't be on here, he isn't going anywhere. Get rid of either Timo or Jizzcan or both, it doesn't matter. Shingo can leave, too. That's exactly how I was feeling when I read it.
  10. I'd like to vote for a few of them, but I'll vote for Timo.
  11. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) A few things: *The sox won't go to a 4 man rotation. This wouldn't be an option *I would think Oakland needs more help with its everyday lineup than its pitching. Anderson might be as valuable for them as BMac Haha, maybe they're sending us Zito, too.
  12. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) If you were Chavez, would you rather sit back and collect 10 mil a year on a constantly rebuilding club(lets face it, Oakland is gonna have a rough couple of years ahead of them regardless if Chavez is traded or not.) or press for a trade to a competing team? To me, it doesnt seem like he wants to jump off a sinking ship as much as he wants to compete for something. It just happens that the sinking ship is facilitating the need to compete. Loyalty means nothing in the game anymore, im not going to start holding it against someone now. Once again, I'm not blaming Chavez for doing this. I was just defending what I said earlier because a few other people jumped on what I said. I want Chavez on this team a hell of a lot and I'm glad he wants to come here. I'm not holding anything against anyone.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) Regardless, I hope he is fueling the movement to get him out of there, whatever brings him here is good for me. This guy would fit in so well its unbelieveable, he is a clubhouse guy, would work for us offensively and defensively and would allow us to unload double play konerko next year. With as much as I hate Crede, I think you know that I'm also happy that he's urging to come here. = me.
  14. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) the quote from HIM says he understands how baseball works the quote from WHOEVER says he wants out... hmmm I said earlier that it's probably both. I'm just pointing out that it says exactly what I said.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) Is it uncommon for good players to want out of bad teams? No, it's not. I'm just supporting what I said in the beginning because people jumped all over it.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) I don't think it's because he's "jumping ship" though.. I think it's because he realizes that he's not going to be part of the furture there. Saying he "wants out" is different than "understanding how baseball works." If he understands how baseball works, he can still want to stay in Oakland but still accept the fact that he's got to go. It says he wants out.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) Baj, Cliff, Damaso, just like now without Hermy, it would be probably for only one or two starts, not a big deal. Plus you know that the plus's of having Chavez outweighs having an ok 6th starter so this isnt much of an argument to me. I really doubt they're going to take Hermanson out of the closer's role, especially with his back problems.
  18. "With Oakland already buried in the AL West basement, Chavez is there for the taking. And he wants out of Oakland so bad that he’s the one who apparently is fueling the trade rumor to the Sox." He wants out...that sounds to me like he wants out, like I said earlier. Some people jumped on me for saying that.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) uh huh, another Crede bomb, please dont break the streak. My pleasure. Crede sucks and two homeruns aren't gonna change my mind.
  20. QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) Lefty/lefty isn't bulls***. It's an age old tactic used by every manager, all the time. Ozzie isn't in "love" with the pitcher/batter stategy any more than any other manager. He puts in Cotts to face lefties when lefties bat much better against him than righties. He has Everett play against righty pitchers even though his BA against righties is horrendous. Etc.
  21. Antidisestablishmentarianism.
  22. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) I don't think it's nearly as bad as what he said about Showalter or the "real man" comment. Can someone explain these two things?
