not sure if posted elsewhere, but just read the Indains have 45 games left over 44 days. That's insane. not sure how you can stay in a race like that

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) Unless he gets in scoring position, there's no real point pinch-running in a 2-run game. Avoid potential dp?

How in the hell is ozzie not pinch running for pk?

whoever hasn't pitched in the 4 games prior

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)

we'd have to eat at least 75% of Rios contract to move him -
first time I saw it I was sure he missed. It looked to me like he tagged the ground right in front of the knee and missed any part of the body. Swipe tags like that usually favor the runner.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) I would love to see it be his swing right at the point of contact with his back foot about a foot off the ground. That would be pretty cool.that or just after

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 12:13 PM) And I understand that Morel will be starting the next two days against lefties, who he hits .191 against. Somebody please inform Ozzie of the fact that platoon stats are often very individual-specific, and don't follow the usual convention. Is there anyone in the org that would actually point out such information? I'm looking for Dunn to be brought in as a pinch hitter against a lefty sometime soon. FWIW Teahen only hits .083 against LHP -

seems like maybe that loss in Colorado was a big wake up for the team

QUOTE (VAfan @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) I would ask anyone who has posted here to name the replacement for Ozzie or KW that is currently available, and then explain why that person is better and would clearly improve the Sox. It's easy to say "blow it up." It's much harder to figure out how to put it together again. Ok, so to replace Ozzie how about Art Howe or Ken Macha. Really at this point it's not a question of weather or not Ozzie has the ability to make this a winning team. I just would like to see how someone else would look at this team. It might be subtle changes that Ozzie just might not see.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 06:43 AM) http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/feature/ultimatehomerunderby Vote for Frank!! But I really think the Mick would win an ultimate home run derby. But man that is real hard to pick. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/allstar10/co...&id=5371930

Adam Dunn: The Least Exciting Player Ever
earthshiner replied to LittleHurt05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Dunn should bunt when he has two strikes on him. It would at least be more interesting. -

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) you mean the gordon beckham who hit .326 the 2nd half has to prove himself??? My memory fails me, when was he hurt?? well there was that wrist thing... -
I seem to remember Brian Simmons making one hell of a catch. I think he drove towards the wall while on the warning track.

When this offseason started I thought there was little to nothing that could be done to turn this team into a true contender. KW worked some serious magic. This is the most excited about the team in the offseason since 05-06
