QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 31, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) Playing in Buffalo Grove's 12in C-League on a work team, we have some good players (about 3-4) that could be in the B-League easily, but the rest of the team is pretty bad. 1-2 right now, but we're getting better, the biggest thing is just getting the good players to show up to every game and not relying on the guys that clearly didn't play much baseball/softball growing up. What team are you on? Like I said I have a group of buddies that play up there, maybe I will cruise up there if you guys play each other -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2013 -> 01:04 PM) When did his production really fall off because of the back injury/surgery? I could readily be convinced that this entire season was just him recovering from that injury and last season was that injury getting worse...if my trainer told me so. The injury may get better, but the pouting doesnt seem like it is. Besides, we all know once you start messing with the back, things dont generally get back to normal.

The End is getting some good reviews. IGN gave it an 8.5 out of 10

QUOTE (Jake @ May 31, 2013 -> 12:47 PM) Yes, dog is fairly submissive. Was the runt of his litter (he's a boxer) and then spent part of his puppy years around some real big dogs as well. He practically backs down to little dogs, now. Love the guy, though! Unfortunately, that is why he keeps getting mounted. Other dogs are just letting him know they are in charge, lol

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2013 -> 12:47 PM) So do lots of teams. Are they getting the version from last year or the version that carried the Magic to the Finals or the version that dismantled the Magic while pouting for no good reason? the second version has been around for about 3 years now. He seems like he is here to stay

I was 3/4 last night with 2 RBIs and 2 runs, we won 17-5. We are having a fun season so far, a couple tough games coming up against other top teams in our league -
How many years/dollars would you give to Granderson?

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 31, 2013 -> 07:33 AM) I am not sure how much he helps. Numbers are going in the wrong direction and will be 33 years old when the 2014 season starts. But I would give him no more than 2 years at $16 million, which would force him to sign elsewhere, with which I am fine. agreed. pass -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Yeah, I think it's safe to say that Dunn is definitely the biggest free agent bust in franchise history. Over Navarro? Really? I think it is pretty close -
I just want to point out that the most blatant flop of this series, Wade falling out of bounds as if he was shoved, was not fined

If you lived in minnesota you would probably smell bad and subsist on a diet of Lutefisk -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 30, 2013 -> 09:34 AM) Seriously? The points are all over the thread. Or were you being sarcastic? If you are really asking, here are a few... 1. If you bring up Phegley, he's not likely to be a quick fix - he's going to have an adjustment period, just as he did getting to AAA, more than likely. So you will get Flowers-like production, give or take, for a few months anyway. 2. Phegley has been very good, and as I said earlier I believe he can be a major league catcher... but he's really only just gotten it dialed in for 1.5 months. That is a very small sample size, and he's probably not THAT good. 3. Catching is always a tougher transition to any given level than other positions because it involves so many different things. Flowers should be given, IMO, a solid half season at least to see if he can be good. We are approaching that point, but not there yet. If you pull the trigger too early, you risk never finding out if Flowers can be a legit major league starting catcher or not. He's now 2 months into full time play, so, it seems silly to throw out that development before giving him that chance. 4. Flowers put up much more prolific numbers, at times and in the overall view, in the minors, than Phegley has. This is a strong indicator (but not a guarantee) that Flowers is likely to be a better hitter. That may not happen, but, it tells you something. 5. Changing catchers also throws off the pitching staff, to some extent. The pitching is actually working pretty well, mostly (leaving out 2-3 bullpen guys struggling). There should be some hesitation before messing with that. All that said, I like Phegley, and I wouldn't be opposed to flipping him and Flowers in a month or so, if Flowers just isn't getting it done. NSS, you should know me better. For shame
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 30, 2013 -> 09:15 AM) Welcome aboard! As you read through the thread, you will see that there are reasons for being patient here. And also realize that Phegley is not likely to come up and hit the world right away either. please point these reasons out to me
