  1. what I noticed is they immediately started rubbing an ice bag on his thighs when he got to the bench. and I dont remember that being a treatment for cramping up
  2. am I the only one that thinks it didnt look like Lebron cramped up last night? The way they were treating him and the way he was acting looked like a thigh bruise or strain or something.
  3. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 09:32 AM) Aramis Ramirez? Would the Brewers be looking to trade? Would they trade him? Is he any good anymore? 3 Years 36 million? really?
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) It would be awesome if Gavin Floyd didn't give up 5 or more runs tonight. ....in the first 3 innings
  5. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 08:11 AM) Geez, Mark Teahan would have been an upgrade over Hudson. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 08:22 AM) Plus, Josh Fields is hitting .330 or so at Albuquerque. So quickly we forget how awful these two players were. I am not ready to replace pretty bad with merely bad. If there is an upgrade out there, please make it, but these are lateral moves
  6. This week has been a kick in the nuts, sports-wise. Hey Gavin, how about you forget your current little "streak" and go out and do something awesome? thx bye
  7. http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=320619120 Joel Peralta tossed for having a significant amount of pine tar on his glove, and Maddon calls it bush league that he was called out. I havent liked Maddon too much this season.
  8. Wood looks like a young, mullet-ed Will Ohman
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) A lot of places are saying Sandusky will testify. I want your honest assessment with what you have observed, do you think he is going to be cleared? I have a very icky feeling in my stomach that he will be.
  10. QUOTE (Wedge @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) Let's just execute him then. now that would be institutionally insane
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) Because releasing young pitchers who throw > 90 mph, have options left, and effectively skipped AAA on the way up is criminally insane? would you stop it already. its not nearly as insane as your defense of him. He sucks. who cares if he has options, skipped triple A, whatever. His stuff is meat. criminally insane my ass
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) Whoever started the game thread for the long winning streak needs to be deemed official game thread started from now until the break. Thanks It was me. I tried again, the first LA game. Didnt work
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:24 AM) Steroids is a whole different ballgame than uppers. They are being treated totally differently. My issue is this, who is to say there werent steroids? Hell, we know Jose Canseco was all into them in the 80s, so how many players in the 80s were messing with them? We dont know, thats my problem with all of this.
  14. in the words of 311, f*** the bullsh**, its time to throw DOWN
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 08:45 AM) It's going to take a long time, but I think they'll eventually have to radically change the voting process for the Hall. I think rational people know that players like Clemens and Bonds were greats of their era with or without steroids. While McGwire and Sosa accumulated their numbers mostly because of steroids. The question is, do players like Bonds and Clemens deserve to be given the highest honor even though MLB pretty much endorsed steroid use for more than a decade? I dont agree with this. There have been stories of players in the 60s-70s-80s using greenies and amphetimines and all kinds of crap to get an edge. Hell, the Doc Gooden mets was one big 8 ball. Clemens and Bonds probably both will get in, I dont like it, but they will

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 11:03 PM) Although the name "Icarus" was never used in any of the original movies, yes, that was the name that was later given to the ship in franchise merchandise like toys and comic book treatments. Absolutely, the tv snippet of the spaceship expedition and the "Lost in Space?" newspaper headlines are setting up the Astronaut Taylor storyline very nicely. I loved the original 1968 film. I didn't hate the Burton reboot as much as most people did, but obviously that was going to be a one shot deal. I really like what has been done so far in the new franchise with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and I think the screenwriters have done a good job tying together the plot elements of the original "Conquest of. . ." and "Battle for. . ." Apes films while avoiding the flimsy time paradoxes of the original series. At the same time, having Caesar be a chemically created super ape, as opposed to being the offspring of Cornelius and Zera sent back in time, is kind of a letdown for the lifelong fans of the cheesy original franchise like me. Yeah, but it is a reboot. Cant do everything the same.

I love Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It has been on HBO a lot lately and every opportunity I get I watch it. Just out of curiosity, in the original is Charlton Hestons ship named the Icarus? I noticed towards the end of RotPotA, they show the ship taking off and tv, and then when the apes escape and they go through the neighborhood where the kids are delivering newspapers, the headline on the newspaper is "Lost in Space?". I am very much looking forward to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) Drabek to have the surgery tomorrow Pretty sure I heard that is tommy john surgery #2 for Drabek.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 09:12 PM) Is Jones' pitching motion conducive to arm trouble? Tonite it is conducive to suck
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) Great. So what are you using the 4 open 40 man spots for? Otherwise it would be insane to DFA a guy who has options left. it is insane to dfa a guy who is giving you nothing and with every pitch looks like he has less and less of a future with any big league team? Your mancrush on him is irrational at this point. Face it, he sucks.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) Clemens is in no way a lock for the HOF due to the possible roiding It certainly stains his reputation, but I think he will get in. Maybe not first ballot, but he will get in
  23. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) Sucks, but not unexpected. Govt. rarely wins high profile cases against high-priced private attorneys. He's still guilty as sin, and most in the BWAA will see it that way. doubtful
  24. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) Does anyone actually know when to expect Rose back? I remember when they were saying a January return. If we destroy the team and he comes back with 30-40 games remaining, the fans will revolt They said that his injury could take anywhere from 8-12 months to heal, and even then who knows when he actually will trust the knee. They need to build the team as if he isnt coming back next season, and if he does it is all gravy. I dont expect him to come back in January at all
