It is a response to the Marvel Ultimates. JLA vs Avengers? No. That is not Pacquiao vs Mayweather. That is just a fanboy idea that wont be realized. Marvel and DC did their Amalgam/Combined universe comics a while back, it was a fun read, but nothing worth expanding into a full fledged movie.

All versions of the Punisher and Ghost Rider were critical and commercial flops, so I am not sure that is where Marvel wants to set the bar. I would be interested if they could do the prequel of Hawkeye and Black Widow where it is explained exactly how Hawkeye saved her life and a debt was levied

You can believe the Sox are privy to more information, but that doesnt help this decision make any more sense to me.
