  1. QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 8, 2012 -> 11:22 AM) what about the baby pills? I think the baby pills and the "mom brings home the placenta and eats it" situations are vastly different. The mother eating the placenta is not an extremely common occurence, but it does happen and as has been explained earlier there is a nutritional reason for it. The baby pills is horrible people doing horrible things and should be stopped at all costs.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 8, 2012 -> 06:35 AM) Blame the pitching coach. Dick, Caulfield, could you play this game elsewhere? Coop and Walker all have their positives and negatives, Walker moved on and it was best for both parties. Coop has his failures as well Thornton has been hittable all season long, last night was no different. I blame him fully for serving up that pitch that Duncan drilled past Fukudome
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ May 8, 2012 -> 01:58 AM) Waiting to see if DC tries a Superman reboot, then a Wonder Woman film, leading up to a JLA film. Superman - Batman - Wonder Woman - Aquaman - Green Lantern - Flash Now that might be interesting. Superman reboot comes out next May I think, it was originally supposed to be December but they pushed it back. Wonder Woman is really a hard property to translate, her powers and tricks are really sort of lame. They tried to make a show last year and the pilot was so bad that it never got past that stage. Aquaman is going to be attempted, whether it is a show or a movie, it has been talked about a lot. Green Lantern has to be rebooted already, the Ryan Reynolds movie was a travesty. Flash, I think it could work. Quinarvy, you make fun of Flash as "runs real fast" guy, but Marvel has their own Flash too in Quicksilver. The JLA Movie could happen. DC is rebooting their comics in a "New 52" Format. Superman will not have the invincibility we all know. Each character will have flaws and "real s*** to deal with". It is a response to the Marvel Ultimates. JLA vs Avengers? No. That is not Pacquiao vs Mayweather. That is just a fanboy idea that wont be realized. Marvel and DC did their Amalgam/Combined universe comics a while back, it was a fun read, but nothing worth expanding into a full fledged movie.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ May 7, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) Jane If you rename it anything else and change Frank Castle's name, it is just a revenge movie. Very tame for the Punisher. Ghost Rider was just silly, and it isn't supposed to be silly. It is supposed to be dark and twisted.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 7, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) How would Jordan Danks look in RF? He would look a lot like John Danks in RF. But taller
  6. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 7, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) Judson it is for the Redbirds. sorry
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) I liked the first Punisher Dolph Lundgren? Or Thomas Jane?
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:03 PM) Serious Q: The first Ghost Rider was a commercial flop and someone still funded a 2nd one? Pretty sure it was contractual. edit: Im wrong, the first one did well, despite the Razzie, and becoming quite the rotten tomato "favorite" everything else, all punishers and the second Ghost rider were flops
  9. All versions of the Punisher and Ghost Rider were critical and commercial flops, so I am not sure that is where Marvel wants to set the bar. I would be interested if they could do the prequel of Hawkeye and Black Widow where it is explained exactly how Hawkeye saved her life and a debt was levied
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) Nah, he turned it down and traded himself to the Knicks for their next ten years worth of draft picks. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Zeke is such a sucker
  11. did John Paxson then take a DNA test and offer himself a 50 year annuity?
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 7, 2012 -> 08:06 AM) For someone who hates nicknames/abbreviations for players, that one for yourself is awful. It is a cursebreaker. And I dont hate all nicknames, but some of them are truly awful. I totally admit mine is, but it is on purpose. And if it works, it stays
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 7, 2012 -> 08:45 AM) Harper, by all accounts, to be sensitive to forum rules, has been described as having "entitlement issues." Pure speculation here, but my guess is Hamels and other major leaguers are well aware of this. I think they are also pissed that Harper seems to be proving what he thinks of himself.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 7, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) This movie was awful. Totally unrealistic. LMAO
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2012 -> 08:57 AM) Can't accept the logic that the screwball actually gets better action in Arizona dry, desert weather? Different baseballs used in ST compared to the regular season? That whole "seams aren't raised quite as high" theory for getting a proper grip on the pitch? Maybe he has a smaller hand for gripping it than most pitchers? Was he in Arizona all through last year when his screwball was tearing up the minors?
  16. My action plan for Hector would involve him finding his testicles and re-inserting them. I am sure ptatc can explain to us the intricacies of such a procedure
  17. suspension or fine for Hamels? I bet suspension that ends up being appealed and turned into a fine
  18. Time for a little bit of K23 luck on this one. I plan on making two game threads today, so Humber better be on his s*** GO GO WHITE SOX!!
  19. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:29 PM) According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Noah's ankle sprain is severe enough that it will force him to miss Game 5 Tuesday night in Chicago. It bent at a 90 degree angle. I was amazed that they let him come back out on the court after it happened
  20. I thought I read that he blew out multiple tendons in his knee, so what you saw there was his knee joint completely splitting, hence the dent in front of his knee
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Smoltz has been suggested as an example Smoltz still had Tommy John surgery, so its not like the Pen saved him from that. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2012 -> 05:46 PM) Its being assumed that there is nothing that needs fixing now, but if they continue on the same path, something real bad will happen. He might still get hurt, but its probably safe to assume his chances of avoiding the knife is best served coming out of the bullpen. The White Sox have more information than we have. They also would rather have Sale as a starter than reliever. They didn't make this decision on a whim. I get that the Sox know more than me, but from what we are presented here it isnt very logical. If you look at a guy and forecast an injury based on a one month set of starts, then what the hell is it going to help putting him in the pen where he is going to be in high stress situations every time, he pitches throwing harder than he does as a starter and being more reliant on his puttaway/junk pitches to get out of innings? You can believe the Sox are privy to more information, but that doesnt help this decision make any more sense to me.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) No, but you make the Cleveland Indians out to be the '27 Yankees. They beat Yu Darvish..............why bother showing up? LOL wholeheartedly agree with this. If Yu Darvish is beaten, then so are you.
  23. LMAO when I got home I went through the NBA thread and really noticed how many times Badger begged for Thibs to get himself T-ed up. I wondered if someone would point it out QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 6, 2012 -> 03:38 PM) So much for the #1 seed. lame sauce
