I think a guy with Shippley as a name should be fired. He does nothing but b**** about the coffee and fill up the garbage cans

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 08:13 AM) I know, but it was as if no research was done on the guy at all. I'm not saying that was the case, but some of the at-bats looked so pathetic that thought came to me several times throughout the game. Romero seriously looked like vintage Johan last night with everything in his arsenal going. You can prepare all you want for guys like that, when they are on their games, it doesnt matter.

4/14 Gamethread: White Sox (3-5) vs Blue Jays (6-2) 6:07 PM

QUOTE (hogan873 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 06:53 AM) The Sox will be 4-5 by tonight. Danks has his first win. And a new thread is started calling for the indefinite retention of Ozzie as Sox manager. LOL, maybe if you started it. And even then, the Eeyores of this site will overflow it with "Nuh-UH!" -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) I don't know if fear is the right word, certainly it was with Quentin in 2008. Quentin, Konerko, Beckham and Rios are all capable hitters...and Andruw Jones can leap up and bite you. We're just a soft overall line-up unless we're getting consistent contributions from Pierre, Teahen, Ramirez and AJ. At one point, it seemed like Ramirez would be Soriano-Lite. That would make a tremendous diference, if he was the same threat he was in 2008 on a more consistent basis (like before June, that would help). He starts every season the exact same. -

he edited it yesterday too. Lets just consider it part of the thread mojo. You make it, he edits it, the Sox win, everyone is happy -
The Mariners seem to be saying a lot of things about Milton Bradley that have been said before http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5079777

Hmmm, everyone is talking about Bobbys performance like it is something we havent seen him do since he has been with the sox. Im pretty sure he has always been a shaky closer, putting people on and getting out of jams(as well as blowing games with jams he couldnt get out of). Great win, im glad Teahen could get the big hits in this game, he is a streaky hitter and I hope that he can get on a nice streak. Jones was a monster, both of his homeruns were impressive. With all of the s*** that the fans were giving Rios(and that was the rowdiest Rogers Center crowd I can ever remember) it was great to see him get 3 hits and hit the ball well each time.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 01:55 AM) Say what you want about Pods, he has done the smart thing in a new town, and has come up with some big multi hit games early. The fans here currently love him. They like Getz too. Well I am sure that Teahen Rios Kotsay and Jones loathe the fact that they did the dumb thing and didnt have multihit games. if they could do it all over again, Im sure they would of taken the other option. Then everyone would love them and everything would be great

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) Podsednik has more hits today than Juan Pierre has all season. Awesome. Grass is always greener jphat -
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) So what type cooks roadkill the best? metal garbage can with chicken wire strung across the top of it. duh

QUOTE (joeynach @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) As you move from the bullpen in left toward Center field along the wall there is a small growing gap between the seats and the wall. Id say from anywhere between 2 - 5ft. So it would be pretty difficult to jump and grab that ball out of that fans hand, wouldnt it

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:36 AM) I don't like gas grills at all. Plus, balta you live in Cali, you don't need the convenience of gas in the winter. Not anymore. Knoxville now

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:09 AM) Did you use that recipe that somebody(can't remember who) on here posted? I tried it and they were awesome. I still have it if anybody wants it. I found a badass bobby flay dry rib rub online, it has a lot of kick in it so I have to dial it down a bit for my wife. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bbq-wit...cipe/index.html

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) Any experience smoking say a rack of ribs for 2 hours on one of those? yeah, i cooked them indirectly. i used a rib rack, put the coals up the other side, and cracked the lid above the ribs so it would pull the heat towards the ribs. It worked good. Honestly though, the best ribs i have made yet I made in the oven for this past years superbowl. I cooked them at 200 degrees for about 4 hours. They fell off the bone

luv my Weber. Its passed down to me, its as old as I am, and it still gets the job done just fine

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) He glided right into the wall when Kubel's HR landed an arm's reach above him yesterday... are those seats on the fence, or is there a gap between the fence and the seats? If there is a gap, there is no way he could of reached that ball

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) and i'd throw santos in there as well. for impressive. you're right tho it's mostly liney and williams. jenks has been jenks... lil bad and a lil good. fine I'll rephrase, the management of the bullpen has been awful. I dont agree with that. The Bullpen has been asked to hold leads for 3 consecutive days for 4 or more innings. For the most part they have, but they have no margin of error because the offense is not scoring at all. Ozzie has been trying to rotate his bullpen to give certain guys rest, but he hasnt been able to because of the extra inning games, making it look like mismanagement, but he has had to overuse his bullpen. The offense is the culprit here.

Coach K was also reported to leave a few nasty messages voicemails of the parents of early departing BB players. Something to the tune of "Your kid is tearing apart my f-in program" -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) Well there was no way to know he was that lazy. And again, he was by far the best guy on the market. They went for the gamble because of the huge payoff and they lost. yes there was. It was a well known fact that he took plays off, and got by purely because he was such an amazing talent. The Redskins front office was well known to gloss over details like that.
