  1. Regardless of how I felt about TNAs show tonite, I still recognize that competition breeds success, and WWE has succeeded before when competition has presented itself. I have hope that TNA can right the ship, but they have to truly walk the "you gotta earn it" walk and not just say it and hand the strap to Hogan or Nash etc. I was really disappointed that they went Sting 1997-1999. The hiding in the background/rafters thing just doesnt excite me anymore. It isnt like he is gonna come flying in on a rope and surprise everyone.

    Remember when...?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) I don't know if it took a few years to get like that! Yeah, you are right. Originally I put a couple of months, but i changed it. Its been such a long time since I played an NES. Mine was actually in good shape for a while, I had one of those cleaner cartridges for the console and the alcohol swabs for the cartridges. Whenever i rented a game I cleaned the game before I put it in my NES and 9 times out of 10 it was dirty as hell

    Remember when...?

remember with the original NES, after a few years you had to blow in your game, blow in the console, put the game in, click it down, slide it over to the side, then hit the power button and HOPEFULLY your nintendo would work? if not, repeat until it worked.
  4. Ok guys, lets give our ratings. First monday night wars in a long ass time, lets keep it simple and rate it on a 10 Shooting Star Press scale(name it whatever you want, scale it to 10) TNA 5 Shooting Star Presses. The people were there, the hype was there, the unexpected wrestler(Hardy) showed up. To me, the drawback was lack of any moveable storyline, the facetime for Naitch and the Nasty Boys, Hall looking visibly drunk, and the total disaster that was the opening cagematch. This was their time to shine and they did not, they delivered a product that is not different from what they have been delivering. WWE 6 Shooting Star Presses. Hart alone was a storyline that will draw for the next 3 months up until mania, and Vince did what we all knew he would do and we watched him anyways, which gives them the slight edge. Jericho is (finally) off RAW, and it looks like Show will be going back to true singles competition, maybe even a story with Jericho after looking at the end of the match. The in between was pretty forgettable, but at least they remembered Dr Death(as opposed to Umaga)
  5. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 10:09 PM) Vinny with a kick to the balls....or probably guts, but still! Is it just me, or did Bret actually look a little younger by the end of the show? It's the weirdest thing. He looked a lot more alive at the end than he did when he walked out at 8:00. he water slicked his hair. Vince is gonna be in the sharpshooter by mania. Thats awesome. I still think HBK plays some part in it, I just dont know which side yet. So Foley went to knock out Bischoff and Nash, Hall and Xpac made the save?
  6. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) I think people need to understand. The whole point of TNA tonight with these old guys is to show and get in peoples' minds that even though they think their in the club, that's not how it's going to work. So all these guys trying to gain entrance because their Hogan's friends, are going to have a much harder time finding out that it doesn't matter. Hence, the Nasty Boyz not being on the list. Dixie was promised not the stale show that led to the downfall of WCW as long as she brought along Eric with Hogan. That's the point with Jarrett having to earn his keep. Same with the nWo. So far, I've liked TNA's show much better overall than WWE's minus the Bret Hart segments and Jerishow. And that's because Bret Hart is my favorite wrestler ever. BTW, this AJ and Angle match is great. We just dont see eye to eye. This Styles/Angle match has been brutal, and I wasnt flipping back and forth. Angle is a shell of his former self. I think you need to understand that you are about to see the same thing that brought down WCW, because thats what Im seeing here. The entire show tonite was crap, the Big Show/DX match was better than anything TNA offered. The production, follow through, excitement. My buddy was right, this is like watching the NFL vs the XFL
  7. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) He's supposed to be a heel. He's just really frustrated because they've buried him. They haven't done anything meaningful with him in forever. And this is the problem with what I think TNA is about to do here. Bury any talent they have and give guys like the Nasty Boys 2 segments. WTF is that? And if Styles loses the strap tonite.....all I can say is not good
  8. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 09:10 PM) Correct, but we've had Flair, Hardy, Styles, Jarret, HOGAN, Eric, The Knockouts going Crazy, Backstage going crazy The intensity is there, Yes Nash and Hall were duds, but we will see what they have up their sleeves I just dont get it man. All of this stuff is exactly why you hate WWE right now, its just on a different show presented as something new and exciting. Nothing has changed, this wrestling product isnt better. Your main point of contention is the women are putting on a better show. The women! Flair, Hogan, Nash, Hall, Xpac, Jarrett, Angle, The Nasty Boys all washed out of the WWE. Every single one of them. And you are acting like thats the greatest thing that has happened to TNA. I just dont understand how you can sit here and rip on WWE when you are bragging about the guys who couldnt hack it in the WWE
  9. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 09:18 PM) I'm glad you're enjoying it, but I'm not seeing anything that has grabbed my attention other than Bischoff. For some reason I'm always interested in his character. I agree. Jeff Jarrett is a snoozefest, in the ring and on the mic. Nothing to get worked up about
  10. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) It was the message, they could have epic failed with NWO Reunion total WCW 2 old guys failure. It was a message of change [/Obama] which TNA can use to their advantage. If they can use all these changes they can COMPETE !!!! If they can compete it will force WWE to up their product! Wow. You are pumped up
  11. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) Ugh. Val Venis. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) Sweet Val Venis! lmao. same planet, different worlds
  12. I just rewound Bischoff and Hogan. someone explain to me why that was so great. And crypt, you gotta stop worrying about the womens matches so much. Dear god
  13. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) I'm rewinding it and watching it now. I was watching the Hitman(my favorite wrestler of all time), and I didn't like Shawn Michaels and Bret hugging and dapping. I wanted Bret to put him in a sharpshooter. Its coming.
  14. Good job of Vince to stay in back and create heat. Shawn has something up his sleeve
  15. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) It sounds electric. Wouldn't it be great if instead of Bischoff coming out to be Hogan's guest, it is Shane O'Mac? That would definitely put them on the map IMO. Shane would be disowned
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) CryptVill, it honestly seems like Vince McMahon personally did you wrong. retarded AWA fanboy comment
  17. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) What the hell was the point in blowing the Ric Flair surprise by him just walking out the limo. We've already seen Jeff Hardy, Ric flair, Scott Hall, Sean Waltmen (xpac) arrive and NOTHING has been exciting except the video montage in the beginning. They are failing. (yes it's still better then most WWE Raw's this past year) You seriously sound surprised. This is the WCW guide to booking
  18. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) You took everything completely out of context, I am by no means a TNA Mark, this is my first show I've ever watched. They have dropped the ball. This is where we have a problem. Rating a WWE Diva's match over this is a retarded, delusional fanboy comment. The problem is the show. Thats where we start and stop. While the idea of tonite has been fun, TNAs whole theme was doing something different and new, and they have done something tired and old. Why was that a great match? Because Tara(victoria) put a spider on ODB? Want to know why I said its not better than anything I have seen on WWE? Because I have, when Tara was Victoria and she did the same bulls*** with Beth Phoenix a few years ago. Its not a retarded fanboy comment, I have seen that match before.
  19. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) Retarded ROH fanboy comment. Retarded OCW fanboy comment
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:47 PM) Retarded WCW comment! retarded ECW comment!
  21. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) Strip poker segment was retarded, but they do it right - Put the hot chicks in a quick segment, not a dull match. Believe it or not, wrestling is also geared towards females, females like to watch other females wrestle. It's not all about looks in the ring, its about skill. The one Knockout match I just saw > Better then any wwe Diva match I've seen in past 5 years. Retarded WWE Fanboy comment. Retarded TNA comment? lol This booking has been unbelievably bad. They needed to grab peoples attention before 8, because people are all switching over to USA when Hart shows up. Instead they lead with a horrible cage match with a disqualification due to a f***ing BATON in the X division. Isnt the X division extreme? And A baton stops the match? Then they follow it with a womens match with two heifers and you want to get off because its the best womens match you have seen in 5 years. Woooooow. And I am the retarded fanboy because I call this s*** for what it is
  22. QUOTE (T R U @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) but the nWo is going to be back, doesnt that interest you?? They are going to try and draw away from Harts intro with the intro of the NWO. I know I wont be watching TNA when that happens. The NWO might pull a few stunts here and there, but I really dont know what they are going to do here with this. And Nash looked like he wasnt very excited
  23. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) The womens match was ok, obv. better then any wwe diva match the first match was terrible Ric flair? Nice.... Still nothing to make me say DAMN YES! but the intensity is there! No, there was nothing there that was better than a WWE diva match, including the opening cage match. This TNA sucks
  24. If TNAs intent was to blow me away from the get, they have failed miserably.
