QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) RVD posting on a blog that he will not be at TNA tonight. Also, The Rock turned down the guest host job for Raw for next week's show. I think the Rock waits until a little bit after he is done promoting his recent movie, maybe a little closer to Mania. Plus, maybe he doesnt want to share the limelight with Hart?

That is really not a flattering picture of her. I have seen a lot of other pics where she has looked much, much better

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) actually looks like the Vlad twitter account might be fake, so probably nothing to the new rumors of M-1/UFC talks. Meltzer is saying Brock has a big Dr.'s exam coming up to see how much damage was done, if he needs surgery he's basically done, if no surgery he can train in a few months. forever? Or the year?

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) It doesn't show the Colts were smart because the Colts always let their starters play a series or two. I think everyone does, unless the player is actually injured going into the game. What happened to Welker was unfortunate but not inconsistent with what other teams -- including the Colts -- do. This particular injury is not in any way, shape or form vindication for Indianapolis' decision about 16-0. They're entirely separate issues. Sure Greg.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) I respect your opinion but disagree with it What I said about stats the same can be applied to people looking at players and saying their are oft injured and thus no longer productive, age is catching up with them and so on and so forth. I don't think PK's stats are bad at all and the leadership he brings to the team most likely can't be measured in a stats book. I think the individual in question, or individuals, can get alot out of the talent they have when you play as a team. You can't find that team spirit or focus in a stat book. Once again you win and lose as a team and not as an individual. Replacing the leadership that we have had shown to us by not only PK, but others past and present is going to be difficult. If you don't like PK, or think he or someone else is going to be an effective offensive force you tell me who you would think would do better and then how are you going to acquire them? We have a solid player here in Konerko and to say he is mediocre is just not what I see in the guy. That's my opinion and I am entitled to it just as you are to yours. and nowhere did I say you were not entitled to your opinion, I was actually responding to you criticizing those who you feel undervalue the worth of the players on the team, hence my "street goes both ways" statement.

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) Not really. Also: only one team has won the Super Bowl after losing the last two games of the regular season. And that was in 1967. What do you mean "not really". Wes Welker is a perfect example of a freak injury that could happen to anyone regardless if he is touched or not(And now Brady has 3 broken ribs), proving that sometimes safety on the side of caution works. The Patriots werent playing for any more seeding. they clinched their division and had no shot at a higher seed.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 11:45 AM) So a more knowledgeable fan ruined your enjoyment of Konerko's season . Ignorance is bliss I suppose. It would make for a good debate weather it's better for the human soul to be ignorantly blissful or knowledgeably miserable. No, it didnt ruin the season, it put it in perspective. I never thought Konerko had an all star season, and I still knew that he was being overpaid, but it was confirmed to me that when you put his season in context with the rest of the leagues first basemen as opposed to in the context of the team he was playing on, his season was subpar. Plus, it is possible to be somewhere in between miserable and blissful. Just because I saw that Konerkos season was merely mediocre it didnt make me want to cry into my pillow and throw a fit.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 11:17 AM) Some see the glass half empty and some half full. Might as well enjoy your favorite team and not lose sleep over it. You'll live longer . Being overly critical is no way to go through life as you'll have few friends and make those around you miserable. Being realistic does not equal being overcritical. Konerko had a decent season last year, nothing earth shattering, and nothing to hang your head about. However, as has been stated multiple times, when you put Konerkos numbers up against every other 1B in the majors, he is at the bottom in most categories. After the season I thought "Konerko had a good season" as well, but when Kalapse showed me the numbers, it wasnt even close. And he is paid like an upper tier 1B, which is also a big problem. And my comment towards Elrockin wasnt necessarily only regarding Konerko.

Tony Scheffler and Brandon Marshall have both been barred from the Denver sideline by McDaniels. That little man loves to wield his boomstick, what a power trip he has been on all year.

Remember back when a movie would come out, and you would have no idea what the movie was about until you actually walked into the theatre and watched it?
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 10:59 AM) You can bend stas anyway you want. What I see far to often is simply an attitude of bashing our own players, undervaluing them and some vague sense that the grass must be greener at someone else's ball field. Stats don't tell the whole story Im sorry elrockinMT, what we see with you is that you far overvalue our own players to the point of ignoring diminishing results and injuries. This street goes both ways man

I just watched Aoki vs Hirota. Wow

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) You had to wait about a year for a movie to come to video after it's theatre run? You had to look in an actual newspaper for movie theatre times? Carry on... that sucked! I hated it!

My buddy was telling me he heard a Hogan quote where Hulk was saying that he wants to do away with the 6 sided ring ASAP. I havent found it yet, but if so I would agree with that decision, although it does remove a bit of brand identity from TNA. That 6 sided ring just doesnt work when I watch it though, the wrestlers look like their moves are inhibited by the ring, they are used to more space between posts
