I understand the 7:11 starts for the Sox, but whats going on with the 6:08, 6:38 starts for the Rays?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) The player the White Sox really could use, as probably so could everyone else, is the 1990-1996 version of Tony Phillips. He could play just about every position equally as mediocre. Good enough where he wouldn't embarrass himself. Led off. Walked a ton. Drove in runs. Hit homers, and drove the opposition nuts. Yeah he was that good kind of crazy when he was on your favorite team, and the guy you wanted banned from the league when playing for the opposition. One of a kind when it came to playing the game, he had a hitch in his swing that you wouldnt want anyone mimicking, but it worked for him and his timing. He was certainly scrappy

QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) It's not looking like that will happen with the Twins. Young might need a new start with another team. He didn't fit the Twins youngster mold and now he is off his game. I dont know what a new start could do for him again. The guy is starting, its not like the Twins are holding him back or anything. He plays a decent to good defense, and was regarded as a really good hitter, I dont know why that wasnt in the Twins mold of young players.

Hey look, its the Washington Natinals

NOTE: THE BELOW COMMENT IS TAKEN FROM A DEADSPIN WRITE-IN AND SHOULD BE REGARDED AS SPECULATION however it is still pretty interesting if this was something that is known, I missed it. But DAAAAAAAYUM that is quite the explanation of Renteria's problems in beantown

Jason Statham is rumored to be the next guy to play Daredevil. I could live with that, Statham is good at playing a badass

So is anyone still worried about Quentin losing his power because of his wrist injury?

I am going to go on record right now and say that Tyrus is going to have a huge game when the Bulls come home.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 18, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) I got the people at burger king to serve me food 30 mintues after they closed. Then I threw it away. such a rebel

The hometown calls that the Celtics are getting are beyond ridiculous, specifically the Rose charge on the inbound pass followed by the Noah block(all ball) that was called a foul. That was a huge swing. The Bulls shooters(Salmons and Gordon) need to step it up in the 4th quarter now

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 10:23 AM) I hear you. The next day after every game I have it's ... damn I hate getting old. Although I've not played too badly this season so far. last night was like a track meet for us. We beat a team by slaughter rule in the 3rd inning, I have never been on a team that has done that before. I felt really bad for the other team, we put up 20 in the first inning(all with no outs), then we just pulled up and stopped taking extra bases. Its hard to determine when to pull back, the first game we played them we won 29-20, but we had a pretty hideous inning where we gave them about 10 outs Anyhow, my shoulder and quads feel like jello right now

damn I am getting old. I played two softball games last night and I feel like I boxed 12 rounds this morning.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 09:16 AM) Anyone here follow Club Trillion? I'd be a pitcher who throws 92 with movement while doing burnouts in my Firebird with my cousin Wayne. - Where's my F'n cards, doucher? You are Kenny Powers if you lose 15 MPH on your fastball

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 08:53 AM) What annoys me is that stuff like that happens just as often at Wrigley, if not more (remember the guy that got stopped just before he got to the pitcher's mound) but Sox fans are the ones with that reputation. I agree wholeheartedly. The Sox problem was during the year that happened it was one after another.

QUOTE (mreye @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 08:34 AM) I didn't think I was too bad until I stubbed my toe one day and said, "God damn motherf***ing f***ing s*** f***!" I try to tone it down more now. You said that??!?!?! I am sincerely appalled

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 08:31 AM) It's definitely not the first I've heard of drunk fans in Wrigley acting like that, so I wouldn't doubt it. However, that article made it sound like they have KKK rallies in the bleachers or something, which anyone who has ever been to a Cubs game knows is laughable. But yeah I totally believe that there are individual dumbasses out there that make the rest of them look bad. A la William Ligue Jr and Son

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 08:02 AM) I have a pair of shoes with those zip laces (the kind you just cinch up with a bracket, they are made of kevlar or something). Anyway, one broke, so Salomon sent me a replacement quick-lace. The directions that came with them are the most bizarre instructions I have ever seen. Here is a direct quote (misspellings and all) of Step 3 of the procedure... That's it - that is the whole step. I can't even tell what that means. Burn it? Oh, and, this is accompanied by a tiny little black and white image of such poor quality that I cannot tell what I am looking at. Who gets paid to do stuff like this? LOL, that reads like some of the nigerian scam emails that I get

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 07:58 AM) So, its not even 2 complete weeks into the season, and already Milton Bradley has... --Injured his groin and missed games --Made at least a couple laughably bad plays in the OF that I have seen --Gotten ejected for arguing with an umpire, and will face suspension LOL, oh yeah, he's reformed. Oh Milton Bradley will be quite a treat to watch this summer, no doubt. However, the suspension talk is kind of bogus, the umpire is claiming Bradley made contact with him and that is not the case. His reputation is fueling the suspension talk. I love how Lou just let him do it and didnt even go out there to back him up

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 06:33 AM) 1) Bonser hasn't really been a major factor for 2 years...he's just their long man and was "trade bait" throughout last season...he has never reached the results he had in 2006-07 2) Liriano, unless he can really unwind that slider with maximum effort and velocity, is more like a #3 starter 3) They do miss Mauer 4) Carlos Gomez is really, really bad so far this year...and their idea of rotating Young, Kubel, Cuddyer and Span and Gomez isn't working 5) Baker got rocked his first game back, and at the Dome, which was a bit surprising, as he's their true ace now, not Liriano 6) Perkins, Slowey and Blackburn have pitched very well... 7) The Twins, like the White Sox....didn't do anything besides the Crede acquisition, and the move to get Luis Ayala for 8th inning set-up wasn't enough....would have been SO much better with Juan Cruz. Guerrier was the one who was really rocked last night, and he was their primary RH set-up guy last year. Crain is Crain, like Dotel, very talented but erratic. Actually, I would say Dotel has been much better than the 08/09 Crain. They caught lightning in a bottle with both Breslow (released twice) and Mijares (overweight) from the LH side, and also made the mistake of letting consistent Sox Slayer Mr. Denys Reyes go...who eventually signed for something like $1 million. That Bartlett/Garza for Young trade is still killing them. Punto isn't an everyday player offensively, and neither is Crede. Young doesn't fit with that team...and Gomez can't get his OBP close to 300. Casilla also hasn't hit as well as projected...I thought the wise thing would have been for them to move him to SS, with Harris/Tolbert/FA (like Orlando Hudson) playing 2B. Or they could have used that money (that they saved on Nick Punto's contract) on a RH reliever like Juan Cruz. Mulvey/Humber, the pitchers from the Mets with Gomez (they got hosed in that Santana trade) have both been major disappointments. Not even going to be a factor this year, Bonser had surgery, out for the year with torn labrum and rotator cuff. Not that he was such a big factor anyways And I agree with the Bartlett/Garza trade being a killer for them. Young hasnt been nearly the talent that everyone said he was going to be, and trading thier SS of the future in Bartlett has changed Punto from a super-sub(where he excelled) into a fulltime starter and reduced his impact(IMO), plus Garza has some filthy stuff and the Twins could sure use his arm right now.
