QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 10:27 AM) boy, someone cranky there. Ever notice that I dont want contreas out there... this has nothing to do with who we are facing next 4 games. this is about contreas vs halladay and i be suprised count makes it to 6 inning Im not cranky, I just think wishing for a rainout is weak sauce Not that it matters, the weather looks like it agrees with you and your wish http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/...pnav_undeclared

QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) tor right now is good and I rather count face m's Maybe we should hope for rain for the next 4 days since the Sox face a Mariners team that is currently bringing in a 2.99 TEAM era to the table. Especially since they are facing Bedard and Hernandez, jeez man lets hope it SNOWS Maybe the Sox should just hope for forfeit

Really Good Thome Interview
QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 01:38 AM) Now please don't think I'm trying to incite anything, I just have a question... This is a "he said he said" thing, where someone told me sonething that someone else told him, so I'm actually the 3rd party. Anyway, one of my friends told me his college professor, who's from Ohio, told him that Thome used to beat his wife while he played for the Indians. Any truth to this??? I didn't know whether or not it was true, so I just pretended I believed my friend when he told me. Wow I would be stunned if Thome did that. He doesnt seem to be that sort of a person, at all.

I think the Count goes 6 strong innings and turns it over to the pen today. That is, if they actually get the game in

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) Review of Sugar...http://qctimes.com/entertainment/columnists/linda-cook/article_765f681e-30d9-11de-bdb4-001cc4c002e0.html So now we just throw in the towel on anyone who has ever been accused or convicted of a crime??? And that has something to do with her talent or lack thereof? This is real life, not "The Handmaid's Tale." Coyote dancers are not "white dancers," by the way. Didn't you see Coyote Ugly? Are you Bai Lings pen pal? Have you ever in your entire life been able to stay on point in a conversation?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 07:06 AM) Umm...because she was joking around at a porn star's birthday party (acting very much in character of her Crank II role), she's not talented? Most Asian girls are like white girls anyway, they're not intuitively good dancers unless they practice. However, if you've been to Bangkok or Manila, there are just as many awesome "coyote" dancers there as there as anywhere in the world. You can google them. Wow, that is solid reasoning. Maybe we should all just ignore her shoplifting craziness as well because she is such a great actress and dances like a white girl or a "coyote" dancer(whatever the f*** that means) Caulfield, you make no sense

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) The best part of this game is that it clinches this as a winning road trip for the Sox with their fifth win in the eight games so far. We can mark this one down as a success. considering the dread we all were feeling going into Tampa, this trip is a tremendous success to me

More Beckham Gossip
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 12:05 PM) Yes, BUT... You're also leaving out many important facts. 1) Konerko was fighting a hand/wrist and later an oblique injury at that time...early in the season...so obviously he would not do as well. Doesn't that follow? 2) Contreras was battling an injury after that Reds game in May or June of 2006 that broke his consecutive victories streak. He would never be the same pitcher with the White Sox. 3) Contreras was also fighting through injuries/health concerns last year but did not take them to Cooper and Guillen...he tried to pitch through them. All of those exigencies corrupt your example. again, an assumption. If Coop and Guillen didnt know, then how do you know?

2009 AL Central Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) Was Edwin Jackson available? Obviously he was, he was traded. Thats not what I meant and you know it. You cannot assume that the Rays wanted Jermaine Dye. You cannot assume that the Sox would have signed Abreu with the left over money. Yet, in the above quote you act as if it was a given. Like I said, you assume far too much

2009 AL Central Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) Well....then we would have had to trade them Dye and they wouldn't have signed Burrell. With that additional money, we would have signed Abreu for RF. We know he was available because the Tigers' "dumped" a lesser player on the Rays. I think it's pretty logical that they knew they had the cheaper Niemann and Price in the pipeline and Jackson, from their perspective (both salary and performance in 2008) was the one to go. Burrell is RH and he was changing to a new league (which has obviously been a difficult transition for him). Dye was only $2 million higher in salary. So the White Sox get additional insurance for the back of their rotation...since...at the time, it wasn't 100% clear that Jose was going to come back effectively. One must assume Williams knew Jose would be back this year, but being back and being effective are two different things entirely. KW also must have known we had "depth" issues behind Contreras...Marquez, Richard, Poreda, Egbert, Broadway...none of them could be counted on to put up .500 or better records as a 5th starter. PLUS, Cooper usually loves to take on talented projects that have tools, a willingness to learn and at least competent secondary stuff to go with a "plus" fastball (Jackson is usually 93-97). You assume far too much here

Bulls To Let Ben Gordon Go?
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 09:30 AM) Why do people keep saying BG can't create his own shot though? He creates his own shots all the time. Sure, he dribbles it off his knee alot when he drives, and can't finish too well at the rim, but that shouldn't be confused with creating his own shot. I've seen him create his own shots time and time again... I think its because he runs off a lot of screens to get shots, which isnt a bad thing. You are right, he can create his own shot as well, but the Bulls like to get him wide open off of some screens so he doesnt have a big hand in his face
