The most positive thing about this(for us, not for benchwarmerjim obviously) is that the Twins bullpen is getting knocked around bigtime. Nathan is blowing saves, Crain is not bulletproof, Reyes isnt as effective as a LOOGY. They can be lockdown when they are all on, but they arent on right now

Chicagosports.com taken over?
Kyyle23 replied to IamPabloOzuna's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
No longer a seperate webpage anymore it seems. It looks like any other chicago tribune webpage now -
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 06:17 AM) No one in particular broke it, the post table crashed and it had to be repaired. The indexing took something like 10 hours. Is that why if i came to the site I saw an index of files?

its a tough call. I think it really could go either way, the way that catwalk snakes around the back of the foul pole makes it pretty difficult to tell. I wonder why they dont(or wont) set up cameras at the base of the foul pole looking straight up along the pole, so you can see where the ball passes

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=280903130 Honestly its extremely debatable, but I thought it was foul

QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 10:40 AM) Funny, Joe Joe will be ending his career with the White Sox in a way nobody imagined, but certainly not to anyones surprise. Unfortunately for him, he will never get his big payday with only himself and Boras to blame. Im sorry, but this was a totally predictable scenario.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) I'm certainly not a doctor, but in this instance, given that this particular rehab assingment had already been aborted once (on August 1st), I don't think its too much of a stretch to say that activating him after he played only four games in Charlotte following his epidural was a rush. Of course, we'll never know whether that contributed to or had anything to do with yesterday's flare-up, but I never said it did. With the playoff roster deadline passing, they didnt really have a choice
-
Saying he was rushed back from a rehab assignment isnt that simple at all. He had surgery late in the offseason, started the season slow in ST, popped in April-May, and now is back to square one. Maybe he was rushed at the beginning of the season because he is showcasing for next year, and it started the downward spiral that got him to where he is now

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:28 AM) http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....-future-un.html Uribe was filling in well. They shouldn't have rushed Joe back. They rushed Joe?

Tatum Bell steals Rudi Johnson's bags
Kyyle23 replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I like Bells lame excuse and the girl's explanation. "I havent seen him in months and he shows up and asks me to watch these bags for a while" lol -
I think McCain will have to learn to be a better leader if he becomes president and Obama will have to learn to become a better manager

QUOTE (FranktheTank35 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:52 AM) Bad Joke? Or misread? I assume by Hawks he meant Blackhawks. bad joke. Im waiting for Hawk to come out with his line of stuff so we can all wear it proudly

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) Sounds more like a hazing deal to me.... No, you haze someone when they are on your team. Bell is no longer a lion, so he STOLE those bags -
Hawk has stuff?

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 12:16 AM) Jenks at his best is one of the best 5 bullpen arms in the league Dont bother, Bearsox thinks MacDougals potential trumps all

Ha, Hawk is gonna run out of stretch calls

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) atleast the extreme psycho post was nice and calm the only thing this team has to worry about is getting to the playoffs. I don't think they'll win in the playoffs (because I think the Rays are the best team in baseball and the laws of probability say that the team doesn't have a great chance to win), but get there and see what happens. It could be that the offense gets hot and they score 100 runs in the playoffs...anything is possible. I also don't know what people would expect when the Sox are using their 6th starter against the soon to be Cy Young winner...I mean, honestly? Clayton Richard also would not start in the playoffs, just so everyone is aware. How did MacDougal look though? He actually looked like he calmed his pitching motion. He looked like he was really in control, save for a few pitches. If he is working on his pitching motion and wants to change to what he was showing us, I am all for it

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 04:24 PM) Let's go two days in a row. Unless Kyyle is off from work, then no one should bother. I loathe you

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) It's certainly going to affect his average and power numbers whether or not there's someone on base, especially a guy like Kinsler who is 26/28 on stolen bases this year. It's probably not worth 100 points of average, but if there's a guy on first, like Kinsler, the pitcher is pitching from the stretch, he's throwing more fastballs, he's possibly even forced to throw more hittable pitches because he decides he can't walk Hamilton, etc. Way to completely ignore the fact that he has no blood of the gods in him.

QUOTE (Steff @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 10:59 AM) I didn't mean to imply you did. If you care to, you should dig up some of those old threads. More times than not his response to someone that disagreed with him was in fact (sic) "well you R dumb". Crazy times back then. I would rather go through the hilarious thread that santo posted earlier. Juggernauts threads made my head hurt with so much doubletalk and ID bullsh**. Mostly because we should all be divying up 1000 dollars right now

QUOTE (Steff @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:53 AM) Never had a discussion about either with him. Just about how it he encouraged his ex-gf to be anorexic. So I guess he couldn't discuss anything medical related either. And I wouldn't call those comments "well thought out". "Stupidly thought out" perhaps. I didnt say I agreed with him, at all. People are entitled to their opinions, whether the consensus agrees with them or not. Juggs never had a "well you R dumb" reply that i ever saw, hen put plenty of effort into his posts. Just mispent effort
-
QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:24 AM) That is an interesting comment. Should errors be determined by the individual player's talents? Isnt that somewhat of the criteria involved, determining if the player A: could have gotten to the ball, and B: could have made the play?
-
Juggernaut just couldnt avoid a religious discussion if it saved his life. Thats where all of his insults and opinions came flying out at you, because all of his posts were well thought out and written, but the tone of his opinions was just too much(read: condescending) for anything related to religion, and also politics.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:10 AM) Jericho is claiming to have pulled HBK's arm completely off. You can never be 100% sure it's not a work, but it seems legit from early reports. HBK likes to play the "up off the mat with a serious injury" angle a lot. His last PPV with Batista played on his knee injury, I dont buy anything with HBK until he is off the television for at least a month
