QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 10:11 AM) I have to go get my drivers license renewed tomorrow and they are requiring me to take the written test because of my speeding violations.I wonder if I should study? I havent taking any drivers test in like 8 years its probably all common sense questions anyways isnt it? The written test was the same when I renewed my license last year, identify some street signs, proper course of action in a given situation. I didnt get any wrong, and didnt study, and I didnt know I had to take it

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 08:45 AM) I had this debate with a friend yesterday, and we came up with 12 teams that were for sure better and another 6 which might have been. The 1972 Dolphins know this though, they're not stupid, which is why they root so hard for 17-0 to stand IMO. They know they were just a really good (not great) team that took advantage of a very poor NFL that year, and that if somebody goes 19-0, they'll be forgotten forever not only as the only perfect team, but also as a great team in general. As for Dolphin fans who sit there and say the '72 Dolphins are still the best team, well of course they are going to say that, it's their favorite team. They are wrong, and most weren't even around to see that team play, but it's their team. Dolphins fans will say the '72 team is the best, Bear fans will say the '85 team is the best. It's just how it is, fans are homers who can't put away personal loyalties to look at things in perspective, and that's a shame. You dont quite understand the concept of "opinion" whether you think they are better or not, it doesnt matter because you are comparing eras. Your opinion on who is better isnt going to sway my opinion, or shadows opinion, and sitting there and telling us we are wrong and blind homers is the pot meet kettle. Im not even a Dolphins fan, and I despise the 72 Dolphins, but Im not goign to sit here and tell Shadows that he is wrong because he thinks his favorite team, the last undefeated team in NFL history, is the best.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Is there a line that gets crossed and then it's a meaningless gesture? Sure. When you start seeing the jerseys in Wisconsin during Deer hunting season, the line is crossed. In all series-ness, this is about putting a different kind of jersey on the rack in the pro shop, and nothing else.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) The 85 Bears were not smaller and slower than today's players. They match up quite well physically with modern players. Go back to the teams from the 70s and 60s, and your argument about the speed/size factor is much better. Basically, as Hampton said, the 85 Bears' strengths were running the ball and pressuring the QB. That plays well into the weaknesses of the 07 Patriots. Who would win? I wouldn't bet against the 85 Bears against any team. On Friday Boers and Bernstein compared the sizes of the 85 Bears defensive line vs the 07-08 Patriots offensive line, the only player that was smaller than his opponent was Steve McMichael. And I wouldnt bet against Mongo either, against any offensive lineman

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:17 AM) It would be interesting to see a tide chart for the area, most of the time the body would have washed up on shore. Not if they fed her to the sharks that she wanted to see so badly

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:13 AM) The guiltiest of the guilty pleasures from reality TV returns tonight. PARADISE HOTEL 2 is on WPWR and Fox Reality Channel. Four years ago, I watched the first series and it was so unbelievably trashy that I watched every episode. LOL, my wife watched that trainwreck too. She was completely into it, she loved watching the creepy dork go insane because he loved that girl who didnt really care about him

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 08:24 AM) I agree with you. The sad thing is, he didn't do anything wrong until the disposing of the body. If she goes into the seizure and dies, like he thinks, he could of just called the cops or paramedics. What a lapse in judgement. Send the kid away for a long time! I think those kids were on some hard drugs at the time. I have heard a couple of different stories, involving extacy and cocaine. If he was supplying her with these drugs like has been said, he would have been up a creek without a paddle if she died the way he said she did

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/02/03/natale...pect/index.html I think this kid has gotten away with it. I really have a hard time believing that the Dutch government will step up and nail this kid to the ground

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) What happens if Shaq retires say at the end of this season, in terms of does that team still have to pay him, but does it still count against the cap? Isnt PJ Brown still getting paid on his expiring contract that is still tradeable? In terms of it counting against the cap, i dont know if there is an exemption for retired players

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) LOL, sorry man. Alcohol+anger made me forget to think that some people actually work. I can also attest to the fact that time exists on a trial basis in Carbondale. Especially on weekends. Especially after drinking. -
QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 12:12 PM) He passed the physical, so yes, he's a Met. So then the title of the thread should be "Santana traded to the Mets" edit: Now that the thread title is changed, i can officially rejoice that the Sox will not be gauranteed to be completely owned at least once per series vs the Twins. Hooray!

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) I was listening online and sounded like the refs were a tad bad, but SIU still had their chances. When Shaw wants to start playing like a man, outside the Creighton game, I would welcome it. Agreed. I dont understand it, but it seems like teams with the Weber philosophy never can shoot free throws. -
Is Santana still "reportedly" traded, or is it now confirmed and signed?

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) I hate playing at Northern Iowa. Yeah, that sucked bigtime. I like the picture on the siusalukis.com where Falker is trying to make a shot with Egleseders hand planted on his face No foul was called -
QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) That is not a show to call into with outlandish suggestions. You better be educated, precise and have a well thought out statement for their show or they will let you know how much of an ass you are.Kind of like Soxtalk . I completely agree. If you are going to call that show to argue or make a remark, you better be ready for them or else they will come at you from an angle you never expected

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) Anybody want Shaq? Come on, please. Ok fine, maybe you will take Pat Riley? No? Some guy/kid calls the Score every day and states his case that the Bulls need to trade Wallace-Hinrich-Gordon-Deng for Shaq. Last time he called Boers and Bernstein they laughed him off the air
