QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 09:01 AM) To be fair to Lesnar, he had Mir in some trouble, and he was landing a bunch of shots while Mir was not really "intelligently defending himself". I've seen fights stopped before in a similar situation. That was a hell of a countermove by Mir to get the kneebar. From what I read on Foxsports, Lesnar screwed himself over when he had Mir down because he landed a punch to the back of Mir's head, which stopped the fight and allowed Mir to gather himself. Still though, I expected Lesnar to do better

QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) Apparently this guy may have entered the Target after the shooting incident, in search of a change of clothes. Pretty scary to think that we were so close to being there at the same time.... That is really spooky. My best friends Uncle lives in the DC area and he was at one of the gas stations that the DC Sniper targeted, and he was there less than a half and hour before someone was killed there. He said the whole thing was surreal, nobody wanted to get gas anymore -
QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 11:00 AM) I forgot how awesome "Rounders" is. I think it would have been better if they just left the love interest out of the movie. She really wasnt established as anything and then she was gone from his life, and it didnt make a difference at all in Matt Damons character. They should have left it out and focused on his father-son relationship with his professor and his relationship with ENJr. I love Malkovich in anything he does, and he was great as the oreo popping russian

QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 10:52 AM) I should mention that I would not go with a Pet Store to get a dog from. Based upon what I have seen, those dogs can be coming from anywhere including dog farms. If you are going with a purebred, take the time to find a good breeder. If you think a mutt would be good (and they usually are), go to local rescue place. Most major pet stores have abandoned selling their own dogs and now work hand in hand with adoption centers. If you are going to a small business pet store you are most likely going to get a puppy mill dog for cheap or a breeders dog for too much. I got my dog from a breeder in Southern Illinois, I consider that action saving my dog from an early death. The livign conditions for him and his brothers and sisters were absolutely hideous

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 10:13 AM) Wasn't The Green Mile his also? Plus didn't he write all of the episodes of The Golden Years? yep, the Green Mile is definitely SK, as well as The Golden Years, Stand by Me, Hearts in Atlantis, Apt Pupil. I guess you can consider Thinner out of his genre, since it really isnt horror as much as sci-fi fantasy

QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) I watched Shawshank Redemption for the 181st time a couple days ago and it was the first time I realised it was based on a Stephen King novel.I was shocked, this story is a totally diffrent genre than anything else I have ever read of his.Does he have any other books written in this category? Not really. Its a novella too, it wasnt all that long. King has a few books that are considered out of his genre, the most prominent being the Dark Tower series, which is science fiction/fantasy.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 08:51 AM) Saw Bee Movie. Thought it was pretty dam funny. I think if you're a fan of Seinfeld you'd like it. The story is a bit out there, but I thought the dialogue was funny. i dont even pay attention to stories anymore when I am watching movie cartoons with my kids, i just pay attention to the humor

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 08:17 AM) I know AI is trying to be nicer this year, but the auditions are just not the same without the idiot parade. I really don't care too much about people's back stories in the auditions. Give me the morons. The morons usually are paraded forth when the audition part of the show is over and they get to hollywood. Right before all the real tryouts in hollywood AI usually runs a wrap-up show that gives you all of the morons and idiots you can handle

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 08:25 AM) Well, I guess that's one way to waste a s***load of the taxpayers money. That's just pathetic. Twice in a month as well, so that is double the taxpayers money. On the other hand, it is double the attention that Britney is getting, yay! edit: holy crap, wasted taxpayer resources

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 07:56 PM) And that's not even 3/4s of the stages. I need this game like now. That picture of robot under the Sonic level, that is the old Nintendo robot(Roby?) that used to come with the system and "play" against you, right?

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 11:09 PM) Does anyone really use the soxtalk "rating system" built into the message board functions? apparently someone thinks I'm 1 out of 5 stars. I think you're being kind... momma always said less is more

Mike North is on the radio right now telling everyone that he would rather have Bedard over Santana because Santana went 15-13 last year and Bedard went 13-5(on a bad Orioles team). The guy is completely delusional

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) Sounds like Uribe without the ability to play short. Except that Inge was also a SS in college, so he can play that too
-
QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 10:13 AM) I think him fighting Frank Mir should show everyone exactly where he is. But even after that fight i wouldn't be ready to crown him the greatest thing ever. Whenever I think of Lesnar I think of him breaking Kurt Angles neck and then almost breaking his own in the same match.
-
QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 09:40 AM) well, Uribe has SOME decent power. problem is he's streaky and you can't streak from the bench. I would have to say that the only time we truly saw Uribe go on a streak was when he was the superutility guy coming off the bench in 2004. Maybe he has to have his comfort level taken away from him

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 09:19 AM) The longer Crede is held the more desperate a team in need of him could become. The reason I disliked the Garland and Garcia trades so much was when they went down. They can play on the desperation of a team especially a team that losses a 3B in spring training. This is the same thing that could happen to Uribe and possibly even Nick Massett or Gavin Floyd. There is no need to take nothing prospects for them now as at worst they add depth of MLB players, not great players, but guys that you can count on for something. Lost in the Crede situation in my mind is the fact that the Sox signed him to a high contract when they still had time. I am not certain if he worked out, had a physical or what but they could have held out until it was time to go to arbitration to sign him. This type of thinking also can screw you over if you wait too long and the prospective buyer moves on to plan B

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 09:40 AM) Good stuff. The sooner he's out of the AL Central, the better. I pray he winds up on the Mets and is out of the AL for the remainder of his career! Santana in the NL... under 2 era? very possible. I wonder what his interleague numbers are?

How do true UFC fans feel about Lesnar? Im just curious if they think he is going to be the real thing, or if he is just a big talker and wont be nearly as great as he tells everyone

Kennedy blew his big shot, which was the McMahon bastard son angle, and now he gets to see hornswoggle play the role. Too bad

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 09:23 AM) Someone was murdered is seems, so hopefully someone is one step closer to being caught and punished. How would you act if your wife ran off with another guy? Having Dahl host a dating contest would not be a bad thing, except, he sure seems guilty, so in that case, he just gives Bill Curtis a few minutes on American Justice, Bill "Perhaps oddest of all was his appearance on a popular Chicago Radio Show . . ." I Bill Curtis His complete lack of any remorse and attempt to find her is the most troubling. He may or may not have a wife who left him, but he has 2 kids without a mother right now and at the very least he should be trying to find her for them.
