Noah Lowry/Matt Cain (for some reason?)
Kyyle23 replied to DBAHO's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Scott Rolen? WTF? -
The girl preaching abstinence at Simon and Randy was pretty funny. Especially when they say "what are you going to sing?" to which she replied "I dunno, what evs"

QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) I thought that he was good in The Prestige as well. Yeah, I thought he was good in that as well. But his performance(and all around straight up creepiness and figure) in "The Machinist" stands out to me

QUOTE(juddling @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 10:10 AM) I'll always remember him from 'A Knight's Tale' Me and my wife love that movie, its a guilty pleasure. If you watch the movie past the credits, there is a funny outtake which is rather crude

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 01:36 PM) Bobby Lashley is gone from the WWE. Not enough personality?

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) Report: Deng Expected to be Shut Down for 'Weeks' Its like if I imagined a perfect Bulls season, and everything happened exactly opposite the way I imagined it. WTF?!?!?

QUOTE(iamshack @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 01:26 PM) Yeah, he did take a page from the book of Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean... But I don't get all the Christian Bale love....he hasn't really done it for me since his awesome performance in American Pyscho... Have you seen "The Machinist", or "Rescue Dawn"? You can go back to his work in his younger days like "Empire of the Sun", "Velvet Goldmine" or "Swing Kids". I love him because I feel that he brings a amazing element of reality to his on screen personas, and he doesnt try and stray from what he does best, which is the intense, angry person with a big chip on his shoulder

if any life exists on Mars, I believe it is in the miniscule/microbe level, not a random creature running around the martian desert. It is an interesting picture that UFO-ologists are going to go crazy over, but it doesnt look like that much to me

I was looking at the article stating that Dotel was 100% healthy, and this little KW gem was at the bottom We have some of the most balance? What exactly is some of the most balance?

http://deadspin.com/344450/dana-jacobson-h...-and-mike-roast Something is really wrong when eddie griffin is saving you

It is strange that a roast has to be completely PC now. Granted, I dont know what she said, but I have seen some celebrity roasts that are just unbelieveably crude

Just wait. Youtube or Deadspin will have it soon

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 07:11 AM) Payroll's at $118M right now. 6th highest in baseball. Uribe and Crede make a combined $9.6M. If you could deal both, that would free up some major salary for a SP (but that's a pipedream, and you'd have to trade for one as there's really no-one left out there in FA unless you want to give Kyle Lohse a multiyear deal). Do I think we've had a good off-season? Yes and no. Some moves I like, some I don't. I'll address it more later. I just cannot make a determination on the entire offseason at this point. With Kenny, I like to wait until the end of spring training to see how he finishes up

QUOTE(Lemon_44 @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 05:53 AM) When you think about it, the Sox have improved their roster as much as anyone, outside of Detroit, in this off season. They've added 6 players in Cabrera, Swisher, Dotel, Linebrink, Quentin, and Ramirez without having to give up any major league talent, except Jon Garland, who was gone after this year anyway. Also they are not stuck paying an aging CF 90 million dollars the next 5 years. People rip KW because of the people he missed out on but Miguel Cabrera was pretty much a pipe dream and Detroit gave up their entire minor league prospect list to get him. Not signing Hunter will turn out to be a blessing.Who knows what you're getting in Fukodome and Rowand, i don't think, was really ever in the picture. Acquiring another SP would have been nice but there really wasn't a whole lot out there.Plus, KW may still swing a trade for somebody.I still won't be surprised to see an Angels trade go down. But the two main weaknesses last year were the bullpen and getting guys on base. I think the Sox have addressed those issues nicely and all's it cost them was minor leaguers and cutting the dead weight from the roster. Throw in the return of Ozuna and Crede and your roster looks even better. That's 8 guys you have added. Crede may still be dealt but nothing is for sure. Detroit still looks like the team to beat but the Sox are going to be right there. People like the big splash signing or trade but KW has quietly put together a very quality roster. We won't have to watch the likes of Gonzales, Aardsma, Sisco, Pods, Erstad, et al come in a flounder away. The Sox will have quality at every position, assuming Danks and Floyd make the expected improvement. Take your sunny optimism elsewhere my friend, this is Soxtalk.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 11:05 AM) This was me watching the game with my wife during every Freddy start in 2006: "Okay, watch what he does.....ONE look to first.....sloooooooooow leg-lift and delivery!" "I swear to God, I can't steal on ANY major-league pitcher, but I could steal on Freddy Garcia EVERY TIME!!!" "LOOK, here we go again!!! ONE LOOK, LEGLIFT, STOLEN BASE!!!" And this was her reaction: No wait, that wasn't it.....oh yeah, THIS was her reaction: then "No, you STILL couldn't steal on him." then about the horrible life decision she made almost 16 years ago.

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) I agree, it was killing me to know what the monster looked like But you knew already!

God I hope KW isnt planning to deal Jenks. A closer like Jenks doesnt come along every day, and I dont know if we can count on Dotel Plus, I want to see the back end of this bullpen as it is constructed right now, because it looks damn good

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 01:20 AM) I hope Tom Terrific just f***s them. And I hope this foot in a boot thing is all a ploy to try and get the Giants to think that Tom Brady is sore. This is definitely a Belichek ploy, he loves to play the "He may be hurt, he may not be hurt" game with the media and opposing teams

Its hard for me to have a favorite commercial anymore. Anytime I think something is funny, I usually see the same commercial 50X an hour for the next year and get burned out on it quickly. I guess my favorite commercial now are a few of the Southwest Airlines "Wanna get away?" commercials, the one where the guy puts all of his saved and loose change in the bank box and sends it into the bank where it explodes, and the commercial where people are at a party and the guy starts dancing to impress a girl and knocks over the dj booth.

When did Dexter get moved from Showtime to CBS?

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) Technically, he did play (got hurt later) but probably wouldn't have been that much of a difference. 2 carries for 5 yards certainly isnt much. agreed

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) but still... thats two big losses and to beat indy on the road was a defining game for the chargers. assuming they get LT and Rivers back... an upset is brewing in foxboro. book it. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 05:18 PM) Steve's prediction was 10x worse than mine. Least I could say mine through the Colts beating the Pats or a SD upset. In Steve's defense, his prediction hinged on LT playing.
