  1. QUOTE(bmags @ May 16, 2006 -> 01:27 AM) i think cornell has wasted the talent of morello and wasted one of the most fun political bands of the 90s...horrible mistake. I think Cornell is great by himself, and Rage Against the Machine were great by themselves, but Audioslave is just a quick check for the remaining members of RATM. I never heard Zach De La Rocha's solo album, but I did hear that it wasnt all that good. I wonder if RATM comes back together in time for another election.....again.....
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) You almost make me want to like the Cubs in spite. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 15, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) ^Honestly. This is way past pathetic now. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Did anyone really doubt what this topic was going to be about before they opened it? QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Six hundred and something useless posts. I don't ever say anything about anyone, but you gotta give this up. You are seriously annoying with your obsession with the cubs. Please I speak for everyone here, stop it. QUOTE(SnB @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) does he just do this to piss everyone off now? EDIT: And i'm not talking about mariotti LMAO Cuck the Fubs, you need a new hobby!

    The DaVinci Code

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 14, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) What's the deal with Tom Hanks' hair is what I want to know. A mullet was necassary for the part. This was Tom Hanks' reference for his character.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2006 -> 08:04 AM) Of all things, I broke out the Traveling Wilburies this week, and remembered how awesome they were. Defiantely brought the term "superband" to mind. Very cool. Roy Orbison gave that group a twang that they couldnt maintain when he passed away.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 14, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Wow, I'm shocked, I really am. When you look at the word incompetence in the dictionary, you should see a picture of Thomas next to it. Guess this means we'll be seeing Starbury and Francis at the #1 and the #2, because that was Isiah's idea, Eddy Curry to get a free run to do what he wants, and for Jerome James to get back into the starting lineup. Before you know it, we'll be seeing Darius Miles and Zach Randolph suit up for the Knicks soon, probably for Channing Frye and a cap filler. bring it on. Let Isiah coach us to the first pick.
  6. Jenks was throwing some darts tonite, I thought he looked great. And ending the game with that HAMMER was unbelieveable. If he is starting to spot that curve, he is getting that much more dangerous. Great win.
  7. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ May 14, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) Yea, I can't believe your friend wouldn't let a single game chage his mind. Like earlier this year, Jim Thome went 0-4 with 3K's and I tried to tell my friend he sucked: but he wasn't having any of it--I was just like, "whatever".
  8. Paul Silas was interviewed by Doug Gottlieb this afternoon on ESPN radio, and he said it seemed like it was a power struggle between Thomas and Brown, and looks like Thomas won. Although, if you walk away with $40 million dollars($50 million counting last seasons pay) you can hardly say you lost...
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 14, 2006 -> 11:30 AM) Kyyle, I must say, I love the quote in your sig b/w Hawk and DJ. That was funny. I was laughing my ass off when it happened. You could tell it caught Hawk by surprise too.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) Come on, don't you understand? He's not on the Sox anymore. He sucks. Thanks Hawk
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) 40 million? What the f***? What, you think Brown didnt know the mess he was stepping into when he got there? That man went to NY to get PAID, plain and simple. And he knew if he was going to be made the scapegoat, which Dolan and Thomas have been doing for a while, he was going to get PAID some more to go away.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) Defend his post season play all you want but I honestly cannot remember 1 play he made in the entire postseason that was memorable. Oh wait scratch that...he did have a cool look of disbelief on Pods' walkoff. Alright, keep hating on him. thats fine. "I honestly cant remember...." works way better than actual statistics, right? /green
  13. Does "relucantly compliant" translate into "crying like a helpless baby who had to be dragged to the plane."?
  14. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) They need to suck next year so we can get Greg Oden OMG that would be great. Even if it isnt Oden, just to be able to switch picks to a lottery pick next year would be great. With Thomas at the helm, I think that would be probable more than possible.
  15. QUOTE(Felix @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) I agree with you, but he wasn't at his best in the postseason. He did have 2 blunders on the paths IIRC (I can't remember if he was waved by Cora home for that one play, if so, I only remember one other). No, im not going to say he was at his best. I just dont understand why some people feel it is irritating to give him props now since he is on the Phillies. He is playing damn good baseball right now, and there isnt anything wrong with talking about it. Even if it is 5 threads going on 10.
  16. Somebody put some mittens on those sharp little fingers! She is scratching up her beautiful face! She looks great Kap, all that hair and eyes wide open, she is really cute.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ May 14, 2006 -> 09:54 AM) The main difference is the 30 total bases, 5 HR and 15 RBI Yeah, you could say that. But their numbers arent that far off, and to say he didnt show up isnt right. PK is the power hitter in the cleanup spot, his numbers are supposed to be like that. Arow was the number 7 hitter, and his numbers really arent that far off. Im not trying to say PK had a bad postseason, because he didnt by any stretch. Just like saying Arow didnt show up is wrong. The guy had a really bad braincramp on the bases, and it was shown multiple times. But how many other baserunning blunders did he have? I cant remember that many.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 14, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) I'll give you that he may be better than average but I remember a guy who was a no-show in the post season, making all kinds of baserunning blunders. Guess I'm puzzled by the 20 threads that have been started for him. Aaron Rowand hit .267 in the playoffs/WS last year(12/45), 18 total bases, 8 runs, 6 doubles, 0 HR, 3 RBI, 4 walks, 1 stolen base, and 9 Ks Paul Konerko hit .265 in the playoffs/WS last year(12/49), 30 total bases, 6 runs, 2 doubles, 5 HR, 15 RBI, 3 walks, 8 Ks Those numbers are pretty close. Would you say that Pauly didnt show up last postseason? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/battin...05&seasonType=3
  19. I thought the Vikings and Twins were going to share a complex anyways? Lets be honest, the Twins have a short span of time in the summer in which to play outside baseball, they either have to have a dome, or a retractable dome, so they are going to be playing a majority of their games indoors anyways. The teams play on the same surface and get the same hops, the Sox just got the short end of the stick last night. The Twins just got hot and put 7 runs up on the Sox in a hurry. Sure, Batista could have(should have) been called out, and Cuddyer did swing the bat, but how about some damage control from Vazquez? There were so many 2 out hits my head was spinning. It just fell apart in that inning, they have to forget about it and move on.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 14, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) Have I missed something here? Are we in last place and wondering why we traded away a 10-time batting title champ and gold glover? He was an OK player that played with a lot of grit but get over it. He's gone. Our team is way better after the trade we made with him. There is nothing wrong with appreciating Aaron Rowand as a Phillie...Philly...whatever. You seem to be confusing "Man I miss Rowand, he was a gritty player for the Sox" with "Man I wish we never traded Aaron Rowand to the Phillies for Jim Thome, we would be so much better with him on the team." And calling him OK and mediocre and average is selling him short tremendously. The guy had his shortcomings at the plate last year, but he is having a great year at the plate thus far, and he wasnt too shabby in 04 either. What if 2005 was the abberation? We dont know that it isnt. And the guy always brings his glove and hustle, which makes him better than average anyways. There isnt anything wrong with admiring an ex-player from afar. This looks like a deal where everyone ends up happy.
  21. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ May 14, 2006 -> 08:46 AM) no no no. Dont buy him out. We need the Knicks to tank again next year so we can swap picks with them (the Bulls have a right to swap first round picks with the Knicks next year. So, if they have #2 and we haev #20, we can get #2). Wait, on second thought, the Knicks might be WORSE with Thomas as coach. There should be no second thought. This is a gaurantee. Isiah Thomas is not a better coach than Larry Brown. I see it as fitting that this captain should go down with the ship he built. Or rowboat.
  22. If there was ever a time when Mark needed to step it up a notch, this would be it. I was hoping for a mid-day start time, but that isnt happening.
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2444469 Everything in Bold = This seems like something right up Isiah's alley. He is going to try and win with these guys because if he does, then he did what Larry Brown couldnt do(not likely), but if he loses he loses his job anyways.
  24. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 13, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) Ugh Hoobastank is in the team picture with Nickelback for bands gone bad...that new CD plays like a childrens Disney special. LMAO, took the words right out of my mouth I have been on a Jethro Tull fix in the last month. My Dad has the greatest hits album(because I am too lazy to peruse all of Jethro Tulls albums at this point), and I have been playing the crap out of it. Locomotive Breath is such an awesome song.
  25. I read a few days ago that Herm Schneider is planning on putting him on a core muscles strength program soon to strenghten his back so this wont happen again.
