  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Why does anyone care what Juan Gonzalez thinks? Because of Canseco's book, Palmeiro testing positive would almost mean Juan was as well since they are both named. He's just trying to protect himself. Thats a pretty stupid way of protecting himself, by opening his mouth. He has to know that the MLB has written him his last check, so it doesnt matter if he did roids or not. Juan Gone isnt going to the hall of fame IMO. Coming out and telling everyone that Palmeiro didnt do it is definitely going to put "guilty by association" in many peoples heads.
  2. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) There's no way you can blame those records solely on Crawford. I think Crawford was a symptom, not a cause. He went where he could play streetball, and look what it got him. A worse record than he had before.
  3. IIRC, last year Sweetney gave the Bulls fits late in games. The Knicks would stick his wide body in the lane and he would scoop up and around eddy. I think the beauty in this deal is going to be the draft picks, and the addition of Tim Thomas. I think his little 5-10 ft jump shot is gonna be big for the bulls who lacked interior scoring without Eddy and Deng. The Bulls are going to be extremely scrappy this year, and I think they will carry thier confidence over from last year. Confidence will be huge for them, they started last year pretty bad, and once Skiles got them to win a few games they were a force.
  4. Everyone is pointing out Buehrle's record and ERA against Boston exactly the same as they were pointing out Contreras' record and ERA yesterday. Its the playoffs, everyone starts fresh. I think Buehrle is really going to get up for this one tonite.
  5. Who knows, maybe he will choose not to apply the shaving cream so he is in the clear, and maybe his curve wont have that bite to it.
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2181227 Says he was always clean. Its funny coming from a guy who was always injured, yet was always in prime physical shape.
  7. I wonder if the graph starts about .51% because of home field advantage?

  9. That started to look like a Juggernaut post toward the end there
  10. I remember in 93 they had a "Go Sox" banner between the two towers on the Sears Tower(IIRC, I could be wrong about where it was). The broadcast showed it alot.
  11. What would reduce your self-respect so small to which you would do something like this? The things that girl did made absolutely no sense whatsoever.
  12. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) Side note as I haven't see this posted yet or heard it on tv, Jake Peavy is done for the year with a broken rib What happened to Chris Carpenter? I read on gameday that he left with an injured wrist/arm.
  13. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) I think those Crede-Rolen comparisons thrown around here a few montsh back look pretty odd now. Anyways, great work by Konerko-an underrated first baseman. People think he sucks for some reason but he's pretty decent over there The strange thing about Crede is that he seems to f*** up all at the same time in the same game. Then he has long periods of good solid baseball. It fits his streaky M.O.
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Are you serious? Something tells me that he said "thank you ozzie". that something is common sense.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) I'll believe it when I see it. We are all well aware of Eddy's self admitted work ethic. And with his heart condition, you know that he limited the strenous excercises.
  16. CHAT CREW ASSEMBLE!!! LMAO. When I saw the title, the first thing that went through my mind was Voltron.
  17. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Clement has huge Asthma problems and today is gonna be very hot. I know a couple times with the Marlins he had to leave games in the 2nd or 3rd inning because of how hot it got. This might be a huge advantage for the Sox. I think you are making something out of nothing.
  18. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) Watching Albert is like goign back in a time machine to 1994 and watching the big man play for us. very similar He has the strongest top-hand in the game. Most of the time when he hits a homerun, it looks like a pop fly off the bat. He really is amazing to watch
  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) In the middle of Cardinal territory I am watching this game as the fans revere Pujols as a God. Edmonds hit a 1st inning HR to give the Cards a 1-0 lead. The Pads had 1st and 2nd, 0 out but wasted it in the 2nd. Peavy vs. Carpenter Pujols is as near a baseball god as we have right now, the Cardinals fans are right to revere him. I know I would. I see the padres wasted another opportunity with runners at 1st and 2nd and one out in the third.
  20. On the news after the Monday Night game last night, the weatherman said that the storm will probably move in towards the end or after the game is over. He didnt say anything about Wednesday though
  21. I will be going to Buffalo Wild Wings on Deihl road in Naperville with a guy from work. Good thing they have so many TVs because I hate their wings
  22. I suspected that Pudge wasnt well recieved. It seems I might be in some ways right http://www.detnews.com/2005/tigers/0510/04/D06-336777.htm
  23. I dont like that Koskie is going to be a twin again. That guy is a bonafide, certified, hellified Sox killer. Toronto loves developing those sweet swinging lefties though, I am not surprised.
  24. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) Lazy Curry gone .............Yes take you 3 rebound avg a game and have fun losing 50 games next 5 yrs. If anything the Bulls certainly improved in the rebounding category.
  25. Good nuggets from today. Enough to get some people in a tizzy Hmm, I would like to find the column when Mariotti tries to tell everyone that Ozzie is a terrific manager. I forget, did the Sox clinch in Detroit? Where is the windsock smily when you need it?
