  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) This makes no sense. Win the division and get in, or possibly f*** ourselves. Not to mention that would indicate that the Sox lost 15 of their last 23 games. Thats not something I want to go into the playoffs with, a 4 game losing streak(1-6 in their last two series). Yeah, I would punch you Judy
  2. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Well, Ozzie DID change the lineup for today....... Yeah, but saying Ozzie is going to change the lineup isnt exactly being psychic. Its pretty normal.
  3. This year will be interesting for the Bulls. This team hasnt had to deal with any sort of realistic expectations in over 7 years. I dont know how the baby bulls are gonna respond, but you know Chicago is going to expect a similar effort this year, sans the 0-9 start.
  4. Hopefully Grilli still has his habit of continually loading the bases.
  5. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) She lost the pictures of the show's producer, the donkey, the midget and the Jello? My bad, her name is Kit Hoover(I). Definitely a TV or Porn Star name. Where did the neck go?
  6. I disagree that the D-Rays infield isnt any good. Cantu, Lugo, Upton, and Huff is not a bad infield. They may boot quite a few, but every one of the previous mentioned players can be an offensive force. Add to that the outfield is pretty damn good already. Tampa finally developed some position players, now they need to get the pitching figured out. Then, they should tear the roof off of that atrocity they call Tropicana Field and install a retractable rood(if possible).
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) I can honestly say this is the first time I've watched Cold Pizza since the morning of the whole Nomar/Ordonez trade speculation. There is no going back now, Fathom. You have admitted your sick addiction to Dana Jacobsen. Your only choice now is to get some sasquatch counseling and attempt to move on with your life. God Speed.
  8. QUOTE(MinnySoxFan @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) Hold on hold on hold on... ... Somebody watches Cold Pizza? thats what I'm saying!
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Huh? I hope that you don't think I really believed what they were saying? /in a stern father voice Im not mad son, Im just dissapointed in your choice of morning shows. Extremely dissapointed.
  10. Best moment of the year for me is a toss-up between Crede's walk-off against the Indians, AJs walk-off against the Dodgers to complete the sweep, Garcia's almost No-No against the Santana, and Contreras' complete game against the Twins last weekend. I cannot choose one that I like more, I had the same emotions running for every game.
  11. You all know we get our sports info from Cold Pizza, its the best sports show on the air! Why bother using facts and statistics, psychics know more than anyone else! Whatever happened to that Kip chick who had no neck?
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) I think Crede has a very good bat slam as well. I think Joe has a great "I just killed that ball" look. He doesnt flip the bat as much as he just lets it fall out of his hands.
  13. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) I've been hearing people saying today if we win, we clincha playoff spot, which I understand, but if the Sox win today and so do the tribe the Sox at 3 games ahead with 3 games left, so wouldn't the Division not be decided today? Forgive my ignorance. Sox have beaten the Indians in head to head competition. Even if the Indians sweep the sox, they will only be tied if the Sox win today.
  14. How about a reward for us posters? Fan most likely to jump off of "The Ledge" if there actually was a "Ledge"-
  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) nevermind. LOL. He also said Crede is in the lineup, but he hasnt seen him in the clubhouse yet.
  16. Ozzie just said on Carmen and Silvy that Jermaine Dye is going to be the #3 hitter today.

  18. I was reading through the seperate pictures on National Geographics site, and realized that those pictures were taken last September. i wonder why it took a full year to let the public view them?
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Why do we need so many utility players?? Up until the trade deadline we didnt have a backup first baseman, isn't that enough reason to have gload on the roster? Ozuna can play everywhere in the infield and the outfield, widger is the back up catcher, timo and carl can play the outfield, why the hell did we need ross to play the outfield when we didn't have a backup first baseman? I dont think Gload was necassary. And he isnt proving me wrong with his performance either.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Lol, I thought this was just hilarious. On ath, Tony Reali says to Mariotti "Mariotti, how come when the sox lose 1 game you always right a column about them choking but when they win you dont write about them" How did he respond?
  21. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) Its plausible to capture a giant squid and keep it alive. It couldn't be for public display though. They would have to block off an area of ocean deep enough for it to survive and study it with camera's, microphones, and submarines. Then they can teach it to play a giant underwater piano to make it useful. http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/giant...re/feature.html Yeah, it may be plausible. But the article you have talks mainly in theories for these creatures. They are just now starting to get the smaller animals to survive short periods of time. I thought this was telling also: Some animals are just not meant to be put in a cage. And setting up a sort of a cage for these animals in the ocean really wouldnt be studying them in their habitat if you ask me. The animals would know that they are being penned up, and wouldnt act the way they would in the wild. Until man figures out how to navigate the deep conveniently, I think this is going to be a creature that's life cycles and habits are pretty much going to be theory and myth.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) He's crushed the ball in aaa, he hasn't had a chance to do anything in the majors. Ross has hit everywhere he has been including the majors, it makes absolutely no f'n sense to me why he hasn't got a chance this season. I just don't get it. Why is it so hard to understand that Gload hurt his shoulder in spring training and still has not regained his throwing arm? So what if he tore it up in AAA? The guy was fantastic last year because of his ability to be a utility player and play OF and 1B. Now you want someone on the bench to be just a backup 1B? Name me a player on the bench this year who couldnt play more than one position on the field. Ozzies bench is full of utility players. Even Willie Harris has played more than one position while he was in the big leagues earlier in the season.
  23. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) i'm not asking for pity, i just would like to hear peoples reasoning, especially White Sox fans, considering all anyone seems to say around here is that the "media" is bias towards the Yankees and Red Sox. doesnt the lack of a response show you that there is in fact an east coast bias? Same thing with Jeffrey Maier. That kid was New yorks hero when he grabbed that ball from Jeffrey Hammonds. Of course, Georgie has alot of media in his backpocket.....
  24. Its funny how people dont understand that lack of a reaction to people like Mariotti is much more impactful than all of this negative attention that he thrives on. Mariotti makes me mad just like he makes alot of fans mad, but I dont go out of my way to read his work anymore. It just isnt worth the effort for me. What am I going to change by crying foul everytime he talks smack about the team I love? Thats his job, and unfortunately he does it well. I believe in the theory that everyone gets what is coming to them. If Jay is really this horrible person that we all make him out to be, he will for sure talk about the wrong person at the wrong time. It is just bound to happen. Maybe he will get someone to go "Jim Rome-Jim Everett" on him and just get embarrassed and tone it down. Maybe he will take shots at the people that pay his bills like he did with ESPN1000 and get his own ass canned. One thing is for sure though, nothing like www.firemariotti.com or constant threads about how he talks bad about the white sox is going to change the way he writes. It will just re-enforce it.
