QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 10:28 AM) This is the Will Ferrell I enjoy. Absurdist, Very Smart, and portraying Overbearing characters. Plus, Da Ali G as a French Driver = Comedy Gold! http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/tallade...ghts/index.html Oh yeah, i saw the trailer for this a month ago and knew I would like it. I still laugh my ass off at Anchorman, even though it is probably the most quoted movie in history now. Come on, Ali G and Will Ferrell sharing a screen? Comedy Platinum, no, Comedy Diamond. Im so looking forward to this. And Steve Carell better have a part.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) Are they implying something, since the bat looks so small in Barry's hand? What, you think they are trying to be subtle in telling everyone that Bonds is bigger than the game and the team?

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) I really feel sorry for Mike Davis. There is no question he is a good man and he really makes a connection with his players. I just think he was thrust into a situation he was not ready for. I would imagine the past few years have been hell on him. IU fans right now are worse than they have ever been and it is getting quite personal. I can't see any way he survives this season and remains at IU. But I wish the guy well. I do hope he gets another job somewhere else at some point and has success. Davis: "I didn't quit" Unfortunately he is in a job where results are the be-all end-all. I feel bad for him to an extent, but hasnt he had some problems with recruits de-committing and players transferring, not to mention an up and down record? -
QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) I wonder if during Spring Training of 2008, the White Sox will rollout their ads touting our Back-Back-Back World Series titles? fixed that for you. It shouldnt even be a question in your mind.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) For the record, it sickens me that there is talk of 5 Valley teams possibly getting into the NCAA Tournament and Evansville is not even in the same stratosphere as those teams. It's sad to see a very strong and historied program so far down. I think Coach Merfield has found that basketball in Indiana is not like Hampton. Evansville is a very difficult place to win at as a coach, but it has been proven it can be done. From what I read on valleytalk.net (missouri valley conf messageboard) Evansvills has been suffering from lack of funds in the athletic dept for a long time. Plus, the coach who preceded Merfield was way out of his league, and recruiting DII and D111 talent, which pretty much set them back another 5 years. The great thing about the valley right now is the resurgence of SIU and CU, and even MSU 7 years ago has been the catalyst for other teams to get better. UNI is a damn fine team, and they were nothing when Bruce Weber was coaching the Salukis 3 years ago. WSU has not been in the dance for 19 years now, but anyone on valleytalk with a brain knows that they were their own worst enemy for the past 3 years, they should have made the tourney every year and every year they would have a breakdown in the middle of the year. Teams like Illinois St, Indiana St, Evansville, and Bradley are on the down cycle right now, which is unfortunate, but it happens. Before Bruce hit the scene, the Salukis were a joke run by Rich Herrin. I have a feeling we will be hearing from the lesser teams in the next couple years or so, Indiana St just took away SIU's longest home court winning streak last week. Personally I am just excited that the MVC is starting to seriously turn heads. -
http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Neifi Perez and Marquis Grissom, please bring your gloves. Matt Murton and Ronny Cedeno, you might not need yours for a while. LOL, Baker is about to make a minor league contract non-roster invitee his starting left fielder and clubhouse leader.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 02:49 AM) I can't see five Valley teams getting in. There are too many games left plus the tournament. At least one of those teams will weed themselves out. The way I see it right now, Missouri State has to make its hay right now if they want a shot, and they pretty much have to win the tournament which is no easy feat, but could be done. If Mo. St wins the tournament, I see Creighton, WSU or SIU getting a NIT bid(which I dont want to happen). I think 5 is a great goal to shoot for, but you cant jump from 3 in the tourney to 5 in one year without some serious resume' builders, and I wonder if all 5 teams would meet the criteria that the committee desires. RPI is a big part of it, but almost equal is notoriety and conference notoriety. That being said, Go Valley and more importantly, GO SIU! -
QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) He didn't play much this year w/ the Broncos. there was a reason for that. There was also a reason he was cut from the Patriots at the beginning of last year. If the Broncos felt they could bolster their WR depth by playing him more, than they would have.

QUOTE(crazyman26 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) When Rex Grossman actually plays a year starting more than 2 or 3 games in a NFL season you can tell me I am right, but right now I AM ONLY RIGHT, EVERY DAMN THING I SAID AS RIGHT, and YOUR ATTEMPTS TO PROVE ME WRONG HAVE BEEN TOTAL BS! So if Rex starts more than 2 or 3 games next season, you are right, And if Rex doesnt start 2 or 3 games next season, you are also right? Please explain to us why every damn thing you have said is right and why our attempts at proving you wrong have been BS. I know I know, we keep using those silly fact "things" and try to read Jerry Angelo's mailbag answers with some semblence of clarity, and that derails your argument. So maybe you can try and tell us why everything you have said is right? This is so damn funny. -

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) And I'm glad the 'black-out' was all hype. I didn't see any of it. I knew about the blackout from the discussion earlier and I watched a few minutes of the game to watch for it. I thought I saw a rather large amount of black shirts in the crowd to tell you the truth. -

QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 07:34 AM) I can't believe you guys humored this .... um .... poster for nine pages. Right now Rex has never played a season starting more than 3 games, fact. Right now Rex has done ZERO to prove he can be a starting QB in the NFL, fact. When Orton wins the starting job in training camp, you all will still be making excuses and still saying Rex is a starting QB in the NFL, which he never was, and denying I was right all along, fact. Now do you see why? LOL. -
QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) The Broncos don't need him. If they feel they need another WR, then they should play David Terrell a little more. LOL, please explain this nonsense.

QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stor...ED?OpenDocument (wtf?) was of course added by me. why in the hell would you write that in the story? very sad story. that person needs to rot in jail. hopefully people see the story and use it as an example to their kids to be that much more careful... I think they need to make it a pretty severe traffic violation to pass a bus that is dropping off children, something in the neighborhood of aggravated reckless driving. People just dont understand the rules of the road anymore, its just a joke to so many people to actually follow speed limits and procedures. Personally, I get super paranoid if I start to go 10 MPH faster than the speed limit, and generally I am the one who is getting yelled at for going the speed limit.

Not that he really has a say in it, but Elway thinks it is a bad idea: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2326933 My curiosity with T.O. is piqued now. I am wondering what team will take him on, because I dont see a serious contender risking chemistry with him, and I also dont see T.O. taking a lesser contract to play with a team like KC, who might or might not be playoff bound(their offense is great, but that defense is just godawful). And if he ends up going home to Atlanta to play with Vick, I just see disaster written all over it, Vick just doesnt have the accuracy to please T.O. Thoughts?

Maybe this will forever end his mainstream music contributions. One can only hope.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) I honestly don't think Pearl found his dream job, he is a midwestern boy. Give me one good reason why Pearl would leave Tennessee for the mess that has become Mizzou basketball. -
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) That's about all Brian watches. I go between various Discovery Channels, History, Food, A and E and then at night the occasional cartoon on Adult Swim. I think the last time I intentionally watched something on MTV, we lived on Fairfield which is ages ago. I saw "Robot Chicken" the other night and just about wet myself laughing. I am a big fan of Seth Green though, I had no idea he had his own claymation/cartoon show.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) This is a sad day for Kansas, Quin was so much fun to watch. I believe bruce pearl will take the iu or mu jobs. LOL, what fantasy world are you in? Bruce Pearl just got his dream job, his team is stacked and ranked. Mizzou is still reeling from scandal, and was recently(if not still) on probation because the coaches were giving kids money, they havent been to the tournament in a few years. There is no reason for Pearl to jump from his cruiseliner to a sinking ship. -
