  1. holy schnikies! 10-1?!?!?! Is Bobby Valentine creating this scenario himself?
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 05:36 PM) Except usually, in these cases, its power of some people - and they usually aren't even in the local market. Well said Rex.
  3. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) Who are you talking to? The AFA? That's their point. It's called boycotting, not censorship. They don't have the direct power to take it off the air. Am I missing something? Easy Tiger. I know thats their point. I dont have to agree with it, do i? And no, you arent missing the point, Im just complaining about something like everyone else in the this forum What the AFA is doing is not direct censorship, its pressuring censorship which is annoying. Im just complaining because its groups like that that like to believe they know what everyone wants and needs to watch, which can lead to more of this type of action. It really sucks that some stations fold to this sort of pressure too, it just encourages the AFA to do it more aggresively.
  4. http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/01/05/t...reut/index.html If you dont like it, change the channel. Dont deprive others of watching something because you dont agree with it. aaahhhhh censorship
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) The baseball business moves that fast. It is moving at the speed of lint! sorry, random Tick reference. Move along with your believing and disbelieving sports writers.

  7. In Other News, The Sun came up. LOL. I love when actors "come out" with info that everyone has known for a while.
  8. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 10:31 AM) the story is weird. both of the people who were robbed say they don't know clarett, but that when he was fleeing the scene someone yelled "maurice" and later claimed it was clarett. the victims' story has also fluctuated. they first said they were approached by a guy who aimed a gun at them and demanded money. now they are saying he pulled up the waistband of his pants to reveal a gun, then asked for their cell phone. i dunno. as i said, clarett's a clown and the story is believable, but it's odd to see this much change this early. time will tell. What I heard on PTI was that the robbery was occurring beind of a club named Opium in the alley. The owner or manager of the club, who knew Clarett, walked outside to have a smoke and saw the robbery taking place, and immediately recognized Clarett and said "Maurice!", at which point Clarett grabbed a phone or something and jumped into the white SUV believed to be Clarett's. I guess in the next couple months we will find out just what really happened.
  9. That quote right there raises the red flags for me. I remember Matt Franco being nothing but a utility man in the MLB, now he is better than anyone on the Sox not named Konerko. Bull s***.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 10:49 AM) Elliot (Sarah Chalke) is the oldest daughter on Rosanne, which was weird. Actually, she was the replacement "Becky". The first girl on the show quit, and this Sarah Chalke stepped in. And then in the last two seasons the original Becky came back and they wrote Sarah Chalke in the show as someone else, which was funny. Ok I am wandering now... Scrubs rules.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 09:41 AM) Its quirky. Its one that you can't just jump into... You either had to watch it from the beginning or give it time to grow on you. The humor is different, but I love the characters. Jinx!

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 09:38 AM) That was it.. Weird show. very wierd. But once you get the gist of everything thats going on, its tremendously funny. Quirky is a word I would use.

    Grizzly Man

I saw the National Geographic documentary about him. They said he used to go up to them and kiss them sometimes, and that he would pet them and do all kinds of different things around them. It really is amazing that he lasted 13 summers.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) I never watched this show before, and likely never will again, but last night there was a line where one Dr asks another (sic) what's more embarassing and one of the choices was being a lifelong Cubs fan... Anyone else watch/see this show and catch the line..? I saw it. That was hilarious Good first two shows for the season, they did some crazy stuff yesterday.
  16. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) Then sits around watching his buddy Lebron James make bazillions right out of high school, takes too much time off, and is horribly out of football shape when he goes to Denver. Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser were discussing this on PTI the other daym and Tony mentioned that it is widely known that Clarett was very jealous of LeBron being able to jump straight to the NBA and make all of those millions of dollars in contracts and endorsements, while he had to wait it out playing football at Ohio St. Maurice Clarett always had a high sense of self entitlement and couldnt understand why he couldnt do the same thing, because for his entire life nobody told Maurice "No". I think the window of opportunity finally slammed shut on this character. Clarett is going to end up in Sports Trivial Pursuit as the answer to this question: "Which College Football Player screwed up his life almost as bad as Lawrence Phillips?"

  18. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) I heard he had a really good 40 time when he ran away from the scene of the crime. The witnesses said he had some really good moves too. Just like some of the other thugs in pro sports today (Jamal Lewis), I am sure he will get another chance and sign on with some desperate team. Those witnesses must have been his agents then, Clarett hasnt had good moves or a good 40 time since 2003.
  19. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Well, if it was Balta1701, I would have to take this seriously. he has almost 8,000 posts, since April! Wow, he is filled with baseball 411. Balta is too busy debunking MLB trade rumors to have time to make them up. Who is he, Bruce Levine?
  20. I think Brett knows that if he sticks it out another year, the Packers could very well screw him over and not address their problems on the line again. Brett knows that there is only so much more of this... ...that he can take. And the Bears defense isnt going anywhere for quite some time.
  21. http://www.dispatch.com/news-story.php?sto...0103-B1-04.html What a f***ing moron. The guy goes back to a place where he is well known and commits a robbery.
  22. Clarett turned himself in. This young man is turning himself into a pale imitation of Mike Tyson with all of his tremendously stupid personal mistakes and how they are affecting whatever career he had going for him. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/5210528
  23. Actually Dayn Perry works for baseball prospectus, as Try Wingo told me the other day. I didnt realize that, but it tells me why he has strange stat fetishes.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) Ahh, so THAT'S why I've never heard of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.... They were big for about a year after the movie "Swingers" came out. They had a couple of songs on the soundtrack and were in the movie. But swing bands are a tough to keep in the spotlight. Fun to see live, though.
  25. I just want this drama to be over. Im sick of the season-long guessing game and everyone trying to gloss over his current numbers by talking about the old days. Yeah, he had a bad line, and lost his wide recievers and running backs. But the guy threw about 29 interceptions, and against the Bears in particular it wasnt the lack of line, WRs, or RBs. It was the constant deep ball chucking and ill advised throws that he used to be able to get away with. I dont want to hear morons like Madden and Bill Maas talk about him like he is the best thing since sliced bread while he is making these bad plays. I understand the guy was f***ing phenomenal, but these guys are paid to talk about what they see, not what they saw 5-10 years ago. Its time Brett walked away. the Green Bay packers decided that they didnt want to pony up the money every year and win a championship, and Brett is going to have to recognize that and walk away while his legs still work.
