  1. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) Nice outing by Wang. It surprises me that the Yankees have a starting pitcher coming out of their farm system. Yeah, they probably OWE prospects to other teams for all the shady money deals they have conducted with the poor teams of the MLB. As soon as one shows promise they ship them out for name players.
  2. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) By the way, Torre pinch-hit Sierra over Jeter with the bases loaded there. What a moron. Just a night off for Jeter?
  3. the thunder of the Twins lineup is coming up too. I bet Stewart leads off with a hit, he is good for coming right back at opponents(specifically the White Sox) with a hit late in the game.
  4. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) And in comes steroid abuser Rincon to replace Romero lol, lots of steroid abusers being shuffled in and out...
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Great, gonna be bases loaded for Giambi. Inning over. 2 years ago, I never would have thought I would see the day when Jason Giambi was pulled in favor of Ruben Sierra.
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) "Tony Womack reaches on force attempt, missed catch error by second baseman Brent Abernathy, assist to shortstop Juan Castro. Robinson Cano to 2nd." yeah, i read that too on MLB.com, i was wondering if anyone actually saw what happened(MLB extra innings). LOL
  7. what error occured that allowed womack to reach base?
  8. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) Gardy is bringing in JC Romero Give the game to the yanks hasnt Romero been pretty good this year?
  9. I will happily eat a Joe Crede Crow pie if he turns around and has a decent season. I still dont trust him, but he has had a pretty good four game stretch here. Dye on the other hand, looks downright dangerous everytime he is up to bat now. Dead is definitely alive right now.
  10. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) I don't like high socks. I'm a fan of the Manny or Bagwell pants. Long and baggy. the MLB fashion police are cracking down on them now. Someone got fined bigtime this past week for wearing them around the back of the heel.
  11. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Cruddy makes Vinny Castilla look like Scott Rolen. Cruddy makes Castilla look like Father Time.
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) Yeah, the way Hawk was defending Ozzie tonight was flat out nasty. I didn't like it and hope no one wonders why the Sox can't do good with the national media. Hawk acted like a total ass tonight. All Ozzie should've done was shake his hand and leave. He didn't have to say anything. Did Ozzie say anything outside of "good for you"? Whats so bad about that? Hawk was going overboard in his defense of Ozzie, this is very true.
  13. Sizemore leading off is kind of confusing to me, if Coco Crisp is in the lineup. He seems to me to be the more disruptive of the two. Sizemore looks like more of a 3-4-5 hitter than leadoff. JMHO.
  14. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) I hope Crede sucks it up...Right now KW's gotta be flipping out with Joe. Maybe an 0-15 stretch pushes him over the edge. I'm tired of the Joe Crede era. Bring on someone else. Chavez, Randa, whatever...someone that isnt worthless. ...Like Vinny Castilla. Except he is worthless as well..... back to the drawing board.
  15. hopefully it passes on through. I have a barbecue to attend dammit!
  16. I dont really see a direct correlation between fan support and raise in payroll. Jerry makes decisions on payroll with a board, not by himself. They decide before the season where the payroll should be set at, and it really hasnt changed in the past 3 years. So many factors and different sources of money go into payroll, saying "Everyone go to more games, we would have signed Tejada if you went to more games two years ago..." is absolutely ridiculous. The Sox would have had an equal chance of signing "studs" if you were harping on everyone on this site about not buying Sox merchandise. Attendance is what it is. People are fickle, and the media has convinced people that the Southside is scary and only "hardcore" fans are brave enough to venture to 35th and Shields. Now, while i dont necassarily buy Jabroni's point saying "you cant b**** until you get your ass in a seat", I cannot dismiss that there is a small point there. People fly across country to go to Cubs games. Thats just a fact. The Cubs are a national team. It isnt so with the Sox, they are a Chicago team. Chicago still is having a strange love affair with the Cubs, but the affair has turned into short booty-calls. Unless Dusty takes this team to the playoffs, it could be a little while before they compete again. Attendance will fluctuate, provided the Sox keep up their end of the bargain and keep winning. For now, I cannot attend games. Sadly, my life consists of working and watching my 4 year old daughter. I do my part by paying my cable bill, to which a small portion goes to comcast, to which a small portion goes to the licensing and television agreement that the Sox have with comcast. Does that make you happy? My two cents from my cable bill this month goes to "studs". Jerry should be thrilled.
  17. QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) who the hell is this? you are kidding right?
  18. QUOTE(Ozzie's Accent @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Konerko advances to second on a wild pitch. A triple will now score him. ROTFLMAO
  19. Jermaine dye is on fire. Is Hawk sick or something? I have heard his voice crack at least 3 times.
  20. at one point in every game, the past 4 games, the sox have led 5-4. random stat. no meaning.
  21. i would have cotts or (dare i say) vizcaino warming up next inning
