  4. Well if you think about it, the dynasty part of the game should be awesome. You get 4 years to develop players, you recruit instead of pay players, scheduling, moving up in division ranks, etc. You are right Kalapse, this game should be alot of fun for the people who have been playing all of the same old MLB games.
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) He tried registering here under a couple of different names, but got banned in a heartbeat when he would pop up. arent you tempted to just let him have a shot at being a poster here, just to hear his "realism"? I mean, we have the ultimate trump card now, and the team doesnt look to suck next year. If he got out of hand, buhbye.... i know its not realistic, but its funny to see trolls actually have nothing to say anymore. There was a guy named Cubster over on the chicagosports boards who promised playoffs and a championship in 2004, and he hasnt been seen but twice in a year now. Once to admit he was wrong.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) ^^ That's almost exactly how I got here... I wonder if Boog has had the balls to show his face for the last 4 months? Who is this Boog fellow? Has he trolled here too? Any greatest hits?
  7. http://www.gamespot.com/rev/index.html If you watch the video demonstration of the controller, it seems like it is pretty simple to use. A couple of nice shots of the new console at the end of the video, and speculation about the new Zelda game and Super Smash bros on the site. Also confirmed demonstration at E3 this year, which is very cool. All in all I am pretty excited for this system.
  8. I think the Clash wrote this song about Tejada
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 10:54 AM) This is why you have to take 7-10 days off smack in the middle of winter and go somewhere warm and forget about everything. If you don't break up the winter, it seems eternal. Imagine if the Bears weren't in the playoffs! I dont have to imagine that. All I have to do is remember the last 12 years.
  10. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) I used to drive a semi and my boss and his son said when I would concentrate (like backing the truck into the garage) I would stick my chin out like Popeye. It soon became "Eyeball", "Eye" and "Mr. Eye." I guess in the Popeye movie with Robin Williams a bellhop grabs his bags and says, "I'll take your bags, Missssterrr..........Eye?" For some reason when I first started posting here I thought it was a play on the word Mystery, Kind of like how the riddler had the name Mr. Enigma(Mr. E)
  11. Has a perfect ass on his avatar, unless it is Paris Hilton.
  12. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 09:05 AM) And its audio quality, in my opinion, is worse than FM radio. Especially their talk radio channels which sound like crappy streaming mp3s. I had a friend who had sirius installed in his car, and it sounded like it was coming out of a tin box. Right there I decided that they were going to have to do much better then that to get me to pay for that service. My Ipod will continue to be my commercial free music radio and sportstalk will continue to be my source of info and comedy.
  13. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 10:22 AM) i enjoy the company of the white sox and the bears. The 01 was when i created that screenname in AIM i think. Then i decided to go hollywood and "j-lo" my name, because I'm that special. you name slut
  14. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) Like all Latino Americans who refuse to learn the English language, I feel that all of SoxTalk should cater to me. Go figure out what my name means then change all of your screen names to Spanish so that I know what they mean. danged peepul caint lern are languge beefour you move here? jeez....
  15. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) The next version is College baseball because the 2K franchise purchased the exclusive MLB licensing rights. hmmm, I remember the 2K football series as a not so good franchise. I hope this has changed.
  16. I was reading Phil Rogers article about Corey Patterson this morning, and this quote stuck out to me
  17. I just got MVP 2005 for 20 bucks at Walmart. I love this game, Im pumped to see the next version. LOL, Wilson Valdez has hit 2 walkoff homeruns for me, and Carl Everett is complaining about PT 3 weeks into the season.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 09:16 AM) One movie I wanted to throw out there, I am not sure if it is 2005 or not, but is Life Aquatic. That was the first Bill Murray movie I have ever hated. Horrible. I dont know if it was 2005, but I agree. I am hit or miss with Wes Anderson movies. Rushmore, didnt like so much. Royal Tenenbaums, I f***ing loved that movie. Life Aquatic, back to not liking it.
  19. I once stood atop a mountain north of Katmandu with a monk. We stood in silence for hours, he didnt blink once. Then he turned to me, and through broken english, he said "you are now kyyle23. you are to unite Soxtalk for the good of mankind." He then returned to the monastery and resumed his vow of silence. This was 15 years ago. First Name + an extra Y + a pretty good number in chicago = kyyle23
  20. yay for threads that feature scantily clad pictures of Lisa Dergen!
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) War Of the Worlds wasn't his own story. It was based on the book by HG Wells, written in 1898. I didnt say that WotW was his story. Come on KG, Im not that dumb. I dont think Spielberg did a good job on WotW or Jurassic Park, but he has done well with his own stories and collaborative stories he has written (Indiana Jones, ET, Close Encounters, etc), but I dont think he does that well with movies that he translates from books.
  22. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) The Cave...it was the second movie of a drive-in double-header. It was absolutely terrible. It was about thrill seekers venturing into an underwater cave. They run into some creatures and then whatever. It was terrible. I think they made that a show and call it "Surface" now.
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) I liked War of the Worlds for the most part. I think it was sort of a reminder of how good a storyteller Spielberg is. I really liked Tim Robbins performance. Yeah, when he tells his own stories he is a good storyteller. He butchers other peoples stories though. I still havent forgiven him for the atrocities that have followed Jurassic Park in that series. He should have renamed it "Whatever and Wherever the hell I want to do with Dinosaurs Park", and told Michael Crichton to stop writing books that make the story better.
  24. that guy got what he deserved, IMO. If you are gonna trap a mouse and let it go, fine. If you are going to trap-kill a mouse, well thats fine with me too. But this guy was more or less torturing that thing while trying to kill it.
