  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Very true, that album is actually only like my 3rd favorite of theirs. AND to add insult to injury, the remaining members of the band tried a new lead singer with a new name(Long Beach Dub All Stars, I think), but with the same sound. Thats not very cool. Why didnt they just get another mean dalmation to sit in on their recording sessions and name him Louis Dog?
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Look at every tackle made in the NFL on the legs, every cut block, every side step, his was a minor movement and it snapped. Im not looking at every tackle in the league. Im looking at one play. It was obvious why the guys ACL snapped, he came down wrong on his leg wrong and pushed off on it. But you can write him off as a bust, thats fine.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) Am I the only one who thinks he's selfish for comming back after he said he wanted to spend more time with his family? No, I feel the same way. Not to mention he isnt really thinking about his family, when he can get popped and do some more damage, even end his life. The risk seems to be MUCH greater than the reward. What does Bruschi have left to do in the game? He has won 3 out of the last 4 superbowls, been an MVP, made his money, and is credited for being one of the smartest players in the league. What does he have to prove?
  4. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) good point because it did happen in 2004 but he only played 1 game. No, it happened this year after the Superbowl.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) I'm so sick of hearing that name. Get used to it. This is going to be ESPN's feelgood story of the next 5 years.
  6. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) Teddy Bruschi there you go. But I think he would probably be eligible for next years SMOTY.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:57 PM) Yeah, he just admitted that he took some s*** that he got from Balco during his grand jury testimony. He never actually tested positive. well yeah, all of the stuff developed by Balco was designed so it would not appear on drug tests. Of course he didnt test positive.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) I'm guilty of taking some suppliments with ephedra a few years ago.. I remember I was jittery for hours. And I took less than the recommended doseage. Lord.. I would have been flying - literally - if I took as much as they said to. Back when you could get it OTC and everyone thought it was great? Yeah, thats when I had it too. Then athletes started dropping like flies and it suddenly stopped being sold in between the "Get Harder, LONGER" pills and Bic lighters. the good old days
  9. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) Hasn't Moyer done a lot for Seattle. I remember him being winning the Roberto Clemente Award a couple times. I think he should get it. Im trying to figure out what exactly are the qualifications of SMOTY. i think the clemente award is more of a work within the community award, and SMOTY is more of a "inspirational" award, ie. he had a fantastic year AND cured the worlds illnesses. I dont think Moyer had a year in which he could be considered for this type of an award.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Bad news.. I took "Yellow Jackets" a couple of times in college(because I was sick of passing out before 4 in the morning and missing all the funny stuff), and I can tell you that the result was not worth the risk. I felt off, nervous, I grinded my teeth, never felt comfortable, and felt my heart racing. I have no doubt in my mind that ephedra messes with your heart, i dont need a doctor to tell me its bad.
  11. Giambi and Romanowski should both be SI sportsman of the year and sportsman of the century(respectively). if these guys can take roids and get away with it amid heavy media criticism, and then admit it later then that makes them great guys in my book. They have my nomination.

  13. OK.... Ready......Set.......React! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/maga...ambi/index.html I didnt realize that Giambi hit so well in the ALCS. Did he get traded to the Angels while they were flying to Chicago?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) You might actually be Surprised, I've always liked stark, he always seems to actually care about the facts he's putting into those. Dont get me wrong, i like Jayson Stark too. I just dont think that he likes to be told that he erroneously inserted a useless fact that was wrong. I thought the rest of the article was spot on. I always wondered how he comes up with the proper useless fact questions to ask the Elias Sports Bureau. I wonder if he is watching games, and just jotting down strange occurences and plays that he would like to have looked at more closely, or if he actually knows and just confirms with the ESB. Either way, i think his work is great.

I just checked and confirmed that this useless fact was indeed wrong. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=251023104 i had to send an email to the useless info dept and let them know. Not that they care
  16. None of these ephedra statements surprise me. Ephedra can give you very similar symptoms to what Eddy experienced in his final pre-game warm-up as a Bull.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) Didn't they rape the Niners by like 49 points? That'll help out any team's stats. Actually, it was New Orleans. But if you think about it, they are still outscoring their opponents with a 1-6 record, thats alot of scoring coming out of Favre. They lost thier first game by 14, and then lost by 2, 1, 3, 3, and 7. Even though they do suck(and lets not mince words here, they do suck), they have managed to stay within one touchdown or less in all but one game.
  18. Sadly, I felt that Sublime got the Tupac treatment in terms of albums released after death. It sort of cheapened their music to me. I could only hear so many remixes of What I got and Summertime.

Isnt this wrong? In Game two, the Astros tied the game in the top of the ninth and Podsednik won the game in the bottom half, right?
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) Because, it wasnt a bad step, or a bad hit. His ACL just snapped out of almost nowhere. If that is indicative of the rest of his ligaments, he might not last long in the NFL. Thats not true Rock. he leaped over a defender, and landed with his foot cocked on one side, and proceeded to try and make another step with his foot cocked inwards. It was certainly not out of nowhere. At full speed, it didnt look like anything big, but when they slowed it down I could see exactly why his ACL snapped. His leg was not in the proper position to push off of the ground and make another step.

can anyone tell me what the hell is going on here? Someone decided to make a gigantic bunny rabbit on their property or something?
  22. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) Anybody use this website? I've been there, got my name in there, but I just can't bring myself to PAY for that crap. What REALLY irks me is how much of it you have to be a member for. You would think the message board would atleast be a freebie...but nope. To do anything there you need to be a Gold Member. Nope. I am the same way about paying for it, it seems really s***ty. I can wait until a reunion to talk to these people. i am still in touch with the ones I want to be in touch with. I have checked a few times over the years, and hardly any of the names or email addresses have changed on my schoolmates, so i doubt my class is into it too much
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) me too. Didn't realize his passing stats were so good. However he is second best. How is he second best? Just because his team is in last? Did you know the Packers have outscored their opponents this year, despite their 1-6 record? Despite how truly BAD everything is around Favre this year, he is still doing his thing.
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) Can't forget this golden oldie N2Deep "Back to the Hotel" AWESOME. I had forgotten about that
  25. I lost Pearl Jam after 10. It was strange too, Pearl jam and Stone Temple Pilots were basically presented as one and the same by MTV, and it didnt help that their singles (Plush and Jeremy) had a very similar sound and vocals, and their albums also had a similar grunge feel to them. But when they released their sophomore albums, Purple just grabbed me so much more than VS did. From then on, I just had a mental block for Pearl Jam that I couldnt remove.
