  1. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) I don't know if anyone will read it but.... Richie Sexson: 2004: 23G 90AB 20R 21H 9HR 23RBI .233AVG .337OBP (Injured and out for season) 2005: 156G 558AB 99R 147H 39HR 121RBI .263AVG .369OBP good points. And we know if he was roiding, he probably would be sorry about it too.
  2. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) no he said both of them. Look move on. He made a mistake. It's over and done. If any of you are still upset because frank got robbed of an MVP frank has moved on to. He said that Giambi deserved it. Im upset that this guy roided for years and didnt get a slap on the wrist at the very least. Franks MVP is secondary. And yet you tell me to be hypocritical and root against guys like Bonds because they arent nice guys.
  3. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) read what his brother Jeremy says. Both have learned that Steroids are wrong and that Kids should learn the danger of using them. So all is forgiven because his brother admitted it was wrong? You are so off on this it is funny. The guy never was penalized in the very least for being part of one of the biggest steroid scandals in the history of baseball, and you want me to just say "thats allright, your brother said you guys think it was wrong. Dont do it again Jason." Ridiculous.
  4. Why does it not surprise me that Boras jumped in on this. He must be the slimiest agent in history.
  5. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) yes and he did it with class to. He is a guy that you root for. Unlike Bonds and Sosa who are real pricks Giambi is supposed to be a very nice guy. He made a mistake. However I'm sure he regrets doing it. Ummm wrong. I am sure he regrets that it got leaked. But I am pretty sure he doesnt regret roiding his was to a 180 million dollar contract. You dont root for a roider, nice guy or not. A cheater is a cheater. And baseball just rewarded a cheater, thats bulls***.
  6. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) I will throw out a name for you: Chris Widger. The guy was playing softball a year ago and now he is back in the big leagues. I like Widger, but that is ridiculous.
  7. I think Kevin Millwood should have gotten tremendous consideration.
  8. I cant imagine that went over well with a bunch of 12 year old english kids
  9. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) While Gammons doesn't especially impress me, he did go on the Mac, Jurko, and Harry show before the first game and confirm his White Sox choice. ....and went on BBT to un-confirm his choice, and change it to the Red Sox.
  10. I really cant remember hearing a a song after a homerun. I thought the crowd was singing it for sure. I guess I never paid attention to it.
  11. .....or its the best exit song for an opposing pitcher. Cant recall hearing that after a homerun
  12. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) I bet that the Sox offers for Huff/Baez and the D'Rays wanting the moon; contributed to this. Among many other crazy deals that fell off the table when Lamar gave his counteroffer.

    Python Dies

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) I have a python at home. Everyone is always skeptical about why I own one, and how do they make good pets.....that is until they see it feed. I am more a chameleon and bearded dragon guy. I had a veiled chameleon, pretty cool to watch
  15. I think McCarver says things that even has simpleton fans saying "that is so obvious Tim, I cant believe you said that"
  16. Dan Patrick is inferring that the White Sox are under alot of pressure right now.
  17. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) as someone who has worked in broadcasting for over 6 years now, i can assure you that espn doesnt care. if you pay to advertise on espn during the playoffs and pay for it, they are not going to run your commercials on another channel because of a percieved bias. the advertiser paid for baseball playoff placement on the channel the game is on, not baseball playoff placement on another channel that no one who cares about baseball would be watching. just like any other station, they would run an add for the KKK if the KKK paid enough for it. Obviously they are collecting top dollar for the placement of the ad, which whoever is paying for the commercial probably had to bid to get. This is how broadcasters make money- people pay for commercials. Do you expect them to turn down an offer to pay for a ton of advertising? ESPN or no ESPN, no station is stupid enough to turn down a s***load of money, which ESPN is getting from that author or whoever is paying for the commercials. As someone who worked in radio for over 5 years, I agree with you completely.(except for the KKK. Good analogy, but we both know there is no amount of money that the KKK could offer to get an ad on ESPN). And it is an ESPN promotion, so it really isnt an ad. It doesnt change the fact in my mind that it shows an obvious bias in what is supposed to be a national broadcast. I know how the system works, Im just b****ing. I was also getting annoyed at the constant showing of the comeback stat. ESPN was trying to will the Red Sox into a win.
  18. Good stuff on this board: Yes, the dimensions may be a bit small. But the seats werent designed for midgets, and people actually piss in the bathrooms as opposed to whatever pole is near. Well, comparatively, it was a pretty successful season. But why would they know that, they probably think every city that isnt in New England lies just past the border of New England. ... because Game 1 wasnt a big spot, right?
  19. I think that at least one of the announcers of the home team should be present through the playoffs. One national guy, one home guy, one sutcliffe type-ex player commentator. Its too bad ESPN didnt employ Steve Stone for the broadcasts, he is better than all of the guys they have doing the games now.
  20. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) it's been somewhat enjoyable to see that mullet-wearing douche proved wrong. His "party in back" has steadily increased during the year

    Comic fans

If you can respect comics and appreciate them alot, you will probably appreciate this guys website. He really makes me laugh daveslongbox.blogspot.com At first some of his jargon was kind of confusing, but I went back and read some of his earlier blog posts and found out what he is talking about. Very creative, this guy has a good sense of humor.

    Python Dies

From reading the story, it appears to me that the snake chowed on that croc, and he was probably soaking in the sun when another croc ambushed him. Its really strange that the entire croc could be inside his stomach, yet the snakes head was missing.
  23. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) Didn't Gammons pick the White Sox in 5 games? That's what is on ESPN.com. Did Gammons decide he liked the Red Sox yesterday or something? What was the back and forth on that? I never actually heard him flip flop, but I have it on good, accountable sources(ok, maybe the chat crew isnt either of those, but they....ah nevermind) that Gammons went on the air and picked the Red Sox after he picked the White Sox in 5 in his online picks. Maybe he will just go on the air and say he was misquoted. Gammons Common Sense
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) So i guess you didn't like Pete Rose? You know there is a way to show your edge without showing up the other team....I just have never seen the intensity from FG and am anxiously awaiting to see it! Did you see Ozzie jump off the bench after gooch went yard? what should he have done? sat there and act stoic? this is a game of emotion and having fun. dont be a statue on the mound. roger clemens & nolan ryan both had that obvious edge that i am talking about. of course i will take a win anyway possible and respect your opinion alot.... I have seen Freddy show emotion on the mound. When he gets an important strikeout he swings his arm and glares while he is walking off the mound. I dont know what you expect from Freddy. Should he pump his fist every out? Maybe he should argue with the umpire when he misses a call. He is hardly a statue.
  25. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) All season? Where have YOU been all season? LMAO, I thought the same thing when I read that. 35 posts and he has been here all year
